Yeah, sorry to see facebook is still blocked in China. If you're trying to approach the chinese audience with the contests as well, perhaps the best solution is to set up your own website again. Video recording is still inaccessible to most people and it's inconvinient even for those who can find a way to record the game. You're losing a huge chunk of potential competitors with that. I think it wouldn't be too hard to find a solution where a screenshot would be proof enough. If you really want to go the video route, then I think you'll have to put a service like everyplay in your games, where your last run is automatically recorded. Or maybe these games aren't suitable for competitions on a grand scale. Perhaps you should only make competitions for level-based games. Whoever gets to the last level first and posts a screenshot wins. That way no cheating is possible and the bar for entering the contest is way lower, since most people know how to post a screenshot. I don't know, just brainstorming here. I don't think people will do that. Well, not unless there's a lot of drama between people in the contest Seriously though, I think the "random" prize (which you also had in the BoingCrazy contest) is a good idea for getting in even the least competitive players. As a TA member I'm more than happy if you host these contests on a small scale, but from your point of view, if you really can regularly host such high-cash prize contests, I don't see why not expand beyond TA. Maybe next time
Here is something I have not checked out with my programmers, it may be possible to program an instant replay. The program would record your last game and if you want you can post it to youtube or email it to a friend. It dumps the info with each new game so it would not use too much memory. Also I see that TA members may not have enough interest in competition of this type to support large cash prizes. I am looking into methods to get the numbers and I may have to turn to China which is my home base.
