If we all pass on the word and more people start to compete then the prizes will go up and I am sure more developers will follow.

There will be games of different skill levels so that everyone will have a good chance to win cash.:)

I am surprised that so few TA members which I assume are enthusiastic gamers don't want to have some fun competing, not to mention win $125.00 in cash. I was hoping to build these competition so that there would be a least 10 competitions going at the same time, the games would be from quick reflex to strategy games and pure skill games so that every player would find a category they feel strongest in and the cash prizes get closer to $1,000.00 in cash then beyong that. All players would have fun watching the top players in action during the final strokes. Lets see, it is taking longer than I thought but things could turn around.:)

To make these work the players and developers have to get something. It is very important that the player give their input as to what they want to in order to make these competitions interesting enough for them to take part. As a developer I don’t want reviews to be a condition, I want to see enough players playing to see what the score levels are so that decisions can be made on how and when a player can move onto the next level. And just to let you know I have no problem with hard criticism because I don’t want to put more effort into a dog. So feel free to express yourselves.

Hi Elsa, nice to have you on board. I saw your score at the Game Center and think you have a good chance to master the game and hit the highest score.

Now what do we do if we don't get to 20. I am not sure. I thought it would be a piece of cake. Maybe you can help me Elsa, what is missing in the competition?

We just need more traffic coming to the thread. It's hard having only this small amount of people that actually use the TA forums. The only way to get more traffic would be to outsource to multiple gaming forums I would think.

If you know some of these forums list them and lets see if we can build the numbers and get this competition going.:)

Also if you can put up a sample play by play video of the stickHero scoring. It does not have to be a high score just enough for interest players to get a look and see what it take to score in this game.

Hey, too bad I couldn't reply sooner, but I was in a Time-Out.
I think the whole video thing is turning people away, because some can't do it and even if you can you have to record all the time when you play as you never know when you get lucky.
On top of that, this contest was confusing from the get-go with the 20 list. I don't understand why you wanted 20 people to sign up. People are competitive by nature and they would come either way, because they would be sure that they can get the highest score. You should only set a contest deadline in the future and nothing more.

    Anyway, here's my video:

Elsa great score. Today, Sunday, midnight New York time is dead line to post your final score. Good Luck

I am experimenting to find a way to make the competitions fair, increase the number of players so that the 1st place cash prize is around $500 USD and heading to $1,000 USD +.

The first competitions had a few players using software to manipulate the score. No TA member will play if they know there is no chance to win, the video play by play seems to prove the score and it is a great visual tool to speed up the learning curve. Now we have to find a way to make it easy for all to use this method or find a better method.

TA members may not have interested members to bring up the number of players which is a must to increase the cash prize. I am looking at methods to do that. Your suggestions are welcomed.

Also we have to find a method to post a day to day score board so that players know where they stand. The moderator here does not want me to do that because it is bumping the thread and he/she feels that it is not fair to other threads. So that problem has to be solved especially once the cash prize is around $1,000.

There are a lot of problems that need to be solved. In the meantime I am going to make a feel adjustments to the next competition and see the results.

Too bad I didn't have more time this week to compete. Oh, well.

But congrats to creeps, well deserved!

Posting daily leaderboard updates is considered bumping? That's just plain stupid, especially considering how scarce highscore contests are these days.

I think the solution is to make your own facebook page (or your own website, though facebook has obvious advantages). There's a good facebook page that hosts weekly contests (or at least used to), but people were always complaining about the contests themselves, because a lot of them were 'whoever gets the most likes on a picture made with this app wins', but it still had a large number of contenders. So I think it shouldn't be too hard to build a community if indeed you could host highscore contests on a regular basis.

Though you can't expect large numbers with the video record requirement.

Oh and thank you for hosting this contest. Looking forward to the next one!

Our problem is that we are in China so Facebook is not an easy thing for us to set up. I thought the TA forum would be more receptive to cash prizes especially when the games are fair to all TA players which I believe it is now with the video play by play and the players get paid in timely order. Some know my name and company from the past and have been a part of contests which over a year I gave away over $60,000.00 in Apple related prizes and cash and built a website that cost a considerable amount to host those games. I expect these competitive games will work both for developers and players in such a way that we will see cash prizes of $500 to $1,000 a contest plus in short order and could see cash prizes as high as $10,000 a game. That will draw more TA members which is good for the site and will make the games more exciting to compete in and for those less competitive to watch on youtube :)
