RIP Steve Jobs - A lot of us little indie devs owe you & your contemporaries for making our livelihood possible And many people's happiness as well..
Anyone who saw the pic of Jobs, TMZ posted in August, would know it was just a matter of time; http://www.tmz.com/2011/08/26/steve-jobs-apple-photo-resignation-ceo-sick/#.TozsfnKVrKk While I've grown to vehemently dislike Apple as a company over the past few months, I still use my 4G Touch on occasion and if anything, glad he spurred the current smart phone boom. It will be interesting to see if Apple can build on his legacy, or crumble beneath it. He was a pivotal player in tech, and my condolences go out to his wife and four kids.
Wow, and just a while ago he was asking for the chairman position... That's really sad news... I just got home from a piano lesson and then my mom tells me the news. Anyway. Steve Jobs was a BOSS.
Unbelievable.. I'm sure he has been a great man, helping build Apple and Pixar to its prime. Rest in Peace Steve Jobs, we'll miss you.
No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven dont want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Lifes change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true. Your time is limited, so dont waste it living someone elses life. Dont be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other peoples thinking. Dont let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. Steve Jobs Definitely take the time to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1R-jKKp3NA
We lost a great person today. He was human, like the rest of us. He showed how any person can change how the way the world works if you set your mind to it. He was a Father, friend, and another other person you would see in your normal life. The difference is he pursued his dream to change the average desktop computer and smartphone. He redefined the tablet computer. He will one day be in history books as a technological genius like Thomas Edison. He will be taught to children who will learn about the great achievements he made and his influence on the world. Rest in Peace Mr. Jobs
I remember getting my first exposure to Apple. From that point on, it's just been awesome watching Steve giving his keynotes at macworld, wwdc. I was properly sad when they cancelled macworld, I was even more sad when they announced Steve was undergoing cancer treatment and had to take a break. I was devastated when Steve announced he was no longer going to be the CEO. Well, I think you can tell how I feel after this.
Apple is asking that if you'd like to share thoughts, memories, or condolences, email [email protected].
First generation iPod Nano (1 GB) + the iMac, (2001). It's been a good decade since I was first exposed to Apple; I'm only 18. Favorite company by far now. Fanboy. Sent an email to [email protected].
Man, was just searching the web for some old Apple IIe games when the news started popping up everywhere..........been such a fan since the 80's, not sure how to take this.......what a shock!
Thanks Steve, you put my mind at ease. At first, I wasn't sure what to think but now I see that everything is as it should be. There isn't much else to say other than thank you, for everything.
