Issue with Stellar Wanderer 1.0.7 for iOS 9.3 on an iPad Air 2 Hello, I am experiencing an issue with Stellar Wanderer 1.0.7 on my iPad Air 2 running iOS 9.3. Specifically, I seem to have gotten somehow stuck on the mission "Tripping the Galaxy" in such a manner that I cannot complete it. The mission is not progressing when I dock with Kappa Station. The game treats it as a normal docking, with no event occurring or dialog playing when I dock. I think the problem began when after leaving the station where the mission starts I was quickly shot down, and chose "Continue". However after re-spawning my escort was not present, no dialog played, and the game behaved in all respects as if I was just in normal space flight. I only encountered pirates on my way to Kappa, no unusual events or scripted dialog played, and when I docked with Kappa Station after arriving for the first time the dialog for the start of the mission played again. After launching from Kappa again however, nothing further has happened since, and I cannot seem to get the mission to progress at all. Can anyone shed any light on whether or not there is any way out of this seemingly bugged situation, or will I have to start all over again ? Is there a way anybody can think of to scrap the mission and re-start it or pick it up again ? Any advice would be gratefully received.
Hi drysdalk, I'll try to help you I'm sure we'll find a solution other than starting over ... since you've played quite a lot so far. The easiest way would be to try "Load last base" and see if the mission restarts (instead of hitting continue as the game starts, hit load and choose the last base save slot). If that's something you already tried and it doesn't work, let me know and we'll try something else Nice to see you playing so far ;-)
Hi, Thanks - I actually stumbled upon the solution myself a short time ago. In the end I had to go back to New Vegas, dock there, and when I launched my ship the mission started all over again as if nothing had happened, and I was able to complete it. I think the problem was I couldn't remember where I started, so I had to go round almost literally every Core system before I stumbled upon New Vegas and found the mission re-starting there Thanks for the help, I've managed to complete the game now. A very good game - well done indeed in making this ! Looking forward to seeing what you do in the future.
It good to hear that. Yes, going to New Vegas would have been the next suggestion was the next mission hard? Well I have more ideas and plans and I hope to be able to expand the universe. One thing's for sure, hearing people completing the game and enjoying it gives me a hell of a morale boost
Hi, I thought the mission was just right in terms of difficulty. There were a few moments where I thought things were going to get overwhelming (trying to avoid saying anything that's obviously a spoiler, in case people reading this post have yet to finish the game), but it all worked out OK in the end. Good to hear you've got some plans for how you might go about expanding the universe. I'd certainly have no hesitation in buying an expansion pack/DLC in the form of an IAP as soon as it came out. The only other comment that springs to mind is that I've also had that problem in my game that some others have mentioned in this thread, of weapons and equipment not replenishing at stations. So in other words once I've bought up the supply of missiles from one place, that's it - no more ever appear. For the last few hours of the game my only usable source of missiles was whatever I could scavenge from pirates I shot down. I found by that point though I wasn't really needing to use missiles that much since my primary weapons were more than powerful enough, so it didn't have a big impact. Just thought I'd let you know though, since I know others have had the same issue.
If they want an Australian one (not particularly strong, kind of British sounding to many Americans), I'll happily do voice work for any expansions for free.
Looks Great!: Wish it had Roll flight controls... Been following this since before release and I have been on the fence for a minute, but now I have finished Rogue Space and need something new before GoF 3 drops so this is the best option I see on AppStore. Question: one thing that always bums me out on iOS 3D space games is the absence of Roll. It would be really great to have an extra button, tap-toggle on the v-analogue stick, or a 3D Touch, or a slide-button option to enable side to side Roll movement. Makes the immersion of space flight possible. Without it everything is stuck on a flat plane and gets quite repetitive while killing realism. Just a though, but a button opposite the movement controls that can slide side to side to enable roll while changing direction/orientation with the virtual stick would make this a favorite on the platform for me. Either way, thanks to some informative and interesting positive comments in this thread I am now going to go buy this and give it a fly through
Hi Gurney Halleck, so far the only option is to switch to roll/yaw controls and see how it feels (if you ask me it's for more hardcore players, but the feeling is quite nice).
Well this game is on sale but I'm not sure if there are any major additions being planned. Assuming we get no more updates is this game worth it?
Well ... I cannot comment about the current worth of the game (I'll let others comment), but I can assure you there will be further updates (we have supported all the games we've made for several years after launch).
Guys, don't hesitate... If you, for some reason, couldn't afford it but wanted to buy it (even if you were slightly reluctant), don't hesitate to buy it. You will regret not buying it later when you'll think about it. Buy it! Play it! Enjoy it! What are you doing still reading my ramble? Go to the AppStore and get it!
Hi GR3NADE, As the developer of Stellar Wanderer, I will not do the comparision with GOF2, but as a hard core space sim player, I would say to play both games and not just that, play all the space RPG/exploration/free roaming/trading games ... there are just too few games of this kind to miss one ... and so much time between relases
As a non developer I can say this game is what you want if your looking for a GoF 2 experience and find 3 to be lacking.
What a great reply from the developer! Could I get a list of features in which is Stellar Wanderer better than GOF2, please? Does it support iOS controlers?
Yes controllers are fully supported in flight (and quite fun if you ask me , with the option to have both yaw and roll at the same time). Full menu support for controllers is work in progress and will be released soon.
