The problem is that i can't reproduce it with my version under development, but i see the bug when i download the game from the appstore! I submit an update now, hoping it will solve the issue.
Stellar Disappearance!? Hello marsaults, unfortunately, I do not see the game in the U.S. AppStore anymore nor can I update it. I'm still running v1.0.50...the game appears to have been removed from the AppStore; can you address this issue, please?
It's available now EDIT: I've found an alien and learnt the word "me". The interface didn't disappear. Did it always disappear in the previous version? I admit I didn't play it because I read about the bug. This one seems to work fine. Silvain, one slight bug: I've noticed that in the planet where I found an alien, it said "life: no". Shouldn't it have said "life: yes"? Btw, how many alien words are there to learn? 100?
I believe the bug occured with a 90% probability in the previous version. So it seems to be fixed! Concerning the "life:no", it is something i didn't think about. There is a distinction to be make between "intelligent life" (alien) and "life" (animals), which doesn't appear in this version. Concerning alien words, there are maybe 200. As i plan to add many sentences to the dialogues, this number may increase a lot. Maybe it will be necessary to learn more of them at the same time in this case, as it would be too long otherwise. Stellar Horizon is back!! Hey marsaults, Stellar Horizon has successfully reappeared in the AppStore, thank you! The new update is really cool, and I've also encountered one alien! It taught me the word "You"! D Now as for the LIFE: NO issue, perhaps you could simply change "LIFE" to "INTELLIEGENT LIFE".......in any case, the planet that I found the alien on was labeled "LIFE: NO", which was false. A more interesting solution would be to allow the computer to scan the planet and output the probability of life as a ratio/percentage. For Example: "INTELLIGENT LIFE PROBABILITY: 36.7%" would replace "LIFE: YES" and "LIFE: NO". You could make the probability real, so in this case, there would really be a 36.7% chance that this planet has intelligent life. This would probably make things more interesting and more realistic at the same time. Just a suggestion.
No need to rush in alien words learning. Now I have another objective in the game you also got me intrigued. I'm 1,882LY from a legendary system, but I'm going there to see what I find
Sylvain, I am having some troubles. Every third system or so, I run into imperials. I accidentally killed one once and now their all after me. Every time I encounter one, they almost immediately kill me. I have to restart constantly. What would be nice is if you weren't always forced to fight when someone was attacking you. New update is great! I love the aliens! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the kind words! Did you try rebel missions? If you succeed, your status is cleared, and you are not chased by imperials anymore. Is there a fine you have to pay?
Ah, so now if you're under attack by the imperials and you take a "kill rebels" mission and succeed, they stop chasing you, right? Cool, I like the idea and it gives a sense to the missions. I see that in the end, the variety of missions has increased a lot. I remember at the beginning there were only the delivery missions. Now we have: - Kill imperials: fine is reduced to 0 if succeed. - Kill rebels: imperial chasing level is reduced to 0 if succeed. - Kill outlaws: great profit if succeed. - Delivery missions. - Analyze water samples. - Analyze vegetation samples. - Geographer. - Zoologist. - ...I'm sure I'm missing some. No, by "rebel missions" i meant "kill imperials for rebels" missions ! But it may be a good idea to reduce imperial chasing level by killing rebels. Thanks for the congratulations, nonetheless!
Love the water droplets and life probability! Animations will be absolutely amazing!!!!!!! Water, sand blowing in wind, moving life. These are some suggestions for things to add in the future. Great work!
I don't know if animations like the ones you suggest can be easily implemented, but they'd look cool for sure. What I've noticed is that performance on my 4S seems to have improved. Even though the auto-selection of graphics chooses a lower configuration, I play with spaceship frame, cockpit animations, anti-aliasing and transparencies on. Sometimes space battles stutter a bit, but it's perfectly playable.
Sylvain, what about weather filters? Seeing the water drops effect, maybe you can add some kind of filters for storms, haze, etc. Maybe some animated GIFs would do the trick for animations in-game... For example, an animal eating leaves from a tree, wind effects and storm effects might be achievable via looped animated GIFs. Well, just an idea.
Yes, something like that may be possible. I gave it a try today. For the moment, i added a kind of dust/smoke effect when your ship lands on the planet (when touching ground). It is just a detail, but it's nice. I will see which other effects i'm able to render!
