Thanks for your detailed ideas Senkoujin! I appreciate very much.

In fact, a lot of calculation is already done during the approach and landing. Some numbers:
one procedural image costs N seconds (with N depending upon the device).
On each position, there are 8 possible orientations available to the player (hence 8 images). Considering we want to pre-calculate 25 positions (i.e just a little 5x5 positions square on the planet), this would require 25x8xN sec = 200 x N sec ! With N=1 sec (on low settings) this is more than 3 min.... Improvement would need a LOT of rework!
Concerning your lock problem, i will investigate. Maybe players here had the same experience?

I have had a couple of disappearing yellow navigation markers when setting planet coordinates with the COORD. panel for planets that were more than a few jumps away (20+ L.Y.), after making a jump or two to other planetary stations along the path , usually to refuel, getting closer to the destination sometimes the yellow line would disappear. Like Senkoujin I've tried setting the coordinates again to re-lock to no avail, the yellow NAV marker wouldn't reappear.

This was at zarheae, at the start of the game I believe. Used the 'continue' button from the main menu and everything was fine, rotation was tricky to get right but manageable after a few tries! Feeling so accomplished about manual docking for the first time :D

Tech Level 5, I'll let you know if it happens again.

    A few unrelated points:

Accelerometer controls would be AMAZING as a QoL feature, I'm finding the touch controls a little hard to use. I expect that'll improve though, as I play more (bought it today :) )

Also, could the throttle for 'nominal speed' be a slider as well as the buttons? Again, I'll get used to it but from an intuiution point of view it looks like it should be a slider :)

Lastly, I often lose an orbital station after crashing while attempting to dock # Could we get it marked on radar perhaps?

    For the post above :p

Also, thanks for the super-quick response! It's always a pleasure meeting developers that care about their games and customers :D

Which coordinates did you set? Coordinates contained in your logbook? Legendary coordinates?

Coordinates from my logbook (the first entry from my logbook), have not tried a legendary planet but senkoujins issue was exact besides that difference.

I was far from the home planet in a more desolate part of space and wanted to head back to familiar, and more active, surroundings. My intention was to explore in another direction from the first planet / base.

Don't mean to be pushy in any way, but I was wondering what you are working on currently!

@marsaults, the super fast rotation has happened again. Interestingly, the station itself is turning at a reasonable rate, but the docking bay is whizzing round.

    iPhone 5, iOS 9.3.5

Hmm... The system name isn't showing, I'll try and find that out. This was the first docking attempt is made that session.

Sand planets sound excellent! Certainly looking forward to it!

Single-player offline only. Although you can share planetary coordinates with other people which gives the game a tiny bit of a social aspect.

That's amazing!! Can't wait for new species and sand planets! What would be amazing is a blowing sand animation. Like little brown particles blowing off the ground in the wind. It would be amazing.

I just got an iPhone 7! The game runs so much faster it's amazing! There is a bad glitch that when you approach stars, they are all glitches out. Planets and stations are okay though.

I feel like every time I have time to sit down and play this game, there's so much more in it that it constantly feels fresh and positively evolving. Well done! And thank you for the latest round of updates. Back to the App Store to refresh my stellar review. ;)

I guess you saw it was updated today with new sand planets, new species, etc. ;) It's amazing how this game is getting better and better.

Sylvain, in the next update remember to remove from the App Store game description 2 lines that talk about updates 1.0.10 and 1.0.11. They are just before the "what is procedural generation" paragraph. We're around 40-45 updates later now ;)

EDIT: I've played a bit the last version and I have to admit I really love the new takeoff effect in planets. The new light effects look great, I'm sure sand planets will be amazing, but the new takeoff effect is really, really beautiful, specially the zoom in of the mountains and background planet.

    Thanks!

I'm glad you enjoy the new effects! Nothing dramatic in the new takeoff, but it is true that slight changes can produce interesting improvements!

I'm thinking about such features (sand, snow...). It should be possible.

For now, i'd like to implement some kind of dialogues with alien characters (for which it would be necessary to learn languages). It may take some time!

Also, I need some help. I accidentally killed an imperial. Now imperials won't stop attaching me so I'm forced to kill them. Often I'll come across five imperials in one system and I immediately die. How do I become friends with them?
