I have found 5 or 6. The ones I own make around 25k on total average. The income is different every time, but it is near the average income (mine go from 24k to 26k).

So buy them, forget about them and let the money roll in correct?

    I can live with that...

I'm sure at some point, this game gets away from the mindless tedium, but after a couple hours of play time, I sure don't see it. It's a trading game where half the stations have average prices, so there's no advantage in trading. Or you can mine, but many planets have nothing to mine (and of course, you don't know until you've hit the surface, enduring yet another two stage interminable landing sequence), so that's a waste of time. Oh yeah, and let's not forget "warning"... Boom. I just force quit the all as soon as I get to a system and see red dots on the radar now. It saves me time and annoyance.

Seriously, it's ridiculous that once you're in combat, you can't escape. I was hoping that this would be a Stellar Wanderer with more depth, but it looks like all the supposed depth comes from silly frustration levels. As far as I can tell, there's no nuance to ship upgrading -- you just buy the most expensive one you can get your hands on, because it's better in all respects. Is there any point to the levels in mining, exploring, etc. or are those just to track what you've done? Becoming an "expert" miner doesn't seem to have increased the incidence of finding material, and it doesn't seem to have increased the values of materials I'm finding.

Escape: Sure you can! There is a bribery button in the lower left of the screen when you are in battles. I think it is only active when you have the enemy ship centered in your sights though.

Trading: Well yeah, most stations will be at average price, it takes a bit to get going but pay attention to the color codes In the price list once you are on the station. You will also get some halfway decent information on the navigation screens but that is less detail than station side. Once you get above a certain amount of cash on hand and ship cargo space, it all starts to snowball big time. Now I usually only buy goods that are at least 500 below the average price. I then hang on to the cargo until I can offload it a good profit. Since I buy at low prices I still make a good profit when selling at average prices so I don't need to see very high import prices to make me happy.

You might want to take on missions to get some cash at the beginning also.

    So. Quick start Gide

    Missions
    Some trading when you can
    Build cash reserves
    Bigger ship

A ship with 60-70 spaces for cargo was where trading really started to take off for me.

The picture shows where I was at before the bribery bug screwed me over... :D

Yeah. After 3 hours of game time (and that doesn't count the many many times I got blown up and force quit so that I didn't have to sit through the stupid long eject sequence again), I'm up to a ship with a whopping 27 cargo spaces! I guess I can expect to be able to make some progress in another several hours of extremely boring repetitive play!

Considering the majority of the missions offered have been kill-the-target jobs, and I have yet to last more than 5 seconds in combat, I don't really think that's a viable strategy.

Time to replay GoF2 again, I guess.

I'm not going to try and convince you more. There are a bunch of space traders on iOS which are all very good in my opinion: Rogue Star, Galaxy on Fire 2 and Stellar Horizon are the best IMO.

Each of them has their own strong and weak points, so just choose the one that suits you best. Even though SH could be more repetitive/simple than the missions found in GoF2, I've found much more enjoyment in this one quite possibly due to this very fact of being simpler than the others, as well as the size of the universe in the game.

Also, my real life has too many gaming interruptions to concentrate on complex stories in the games. Anyway, SH is improving constantly, so maybe future updates might interest you more.

VBF, I'll have to check out rogue star, have not heard of it before. Have you tried stellar wanderer?

Marsaults, have you considered tracking the number of space stations owned and total credits earned from them on the system screen? Kind of like discovered planets and mining earnings. Right now I don't see any way to track this...

Did you click the right arrow, in the "computer" section? You will find the number of space stations owned and the daily income (but not the total credits earned from them).

I'm on iOS 7.1.2, and Stellar Wanderer is iOS8+ only :( I had it on my radar until it came out and I saw it was incompatible with iOS 7.

Rogue Star is also a great trading game where instead of buying and selling goods, you get into auctions with 3 AI players to buy them. By buying goods in those auctions you can eliminate the AI's. It's a different and very enjoyable way of buying goods. Also, the space battles are amazing in that one. You have bars to control speed, shield regen and lasers. When one bar increases, the others decrease. The only thing that keeps this game for being perfect is the amount of planets there are to visit: 6 or 7 (can't remember well now). You go from one planet to another finding missions to progress in the story and gain reputation. Also, planets are non-explorable, they are just used as spaceports. I think TA gave it a 5-star review when it came out (I think it was a year ago or so).

Marsaults, is it possible to improve the AI in Stellar Horizon? My space battles are: get behind a deadly ship, match it's speed, shoot until it's destroyed, repeat procedure... At least make the ships move out from your front after 1-2 seconds of being locked. As they are now, once they are locked in front of you, it's as if they were saying "okay, you got me, I'm dead. Come on, shoot me. Shoot shoot shoot". The ones behind you seem to be okay though because they shoot at you, even destroying the ship you are pursuing with their lasers.

Thanks! Did not notice the arrows. Would total credits earned be a pain to implement?

Anyway, about the AI. Bastard empire pilot stole one of my kills! I was just about to finish off an outlaw puma ship and an empire pilot cut directly in front of me and finished him off. I did not get the reward.

    Until we meet again, Boom...

No it is easy, but this total will start at zero, even if your stations have already earned money before the update. I can implement that.

    Nice!

How much real time is a day in game time?

A stellar day corresponds to 5 min gametime. Not surprising, considering the player spends most of the time travelling faster than light.

Finally, the stations total income won't be reinitialized by the update. I forgot i already implemented it in the previous update, so i just have to display it.

And, release 1.0.31 was just submitted!
