Yes, but during the first hours of gameplay you'll have to accept missions and look for resources in planets to make cash. If you want to keep neutral with rebels and imperials, just don't kill them nor accept missions to clean systems from them. You can accept missions to kill outlaws and make deliveries though.
Hi Marsaults, I've tried to kill all the outlaws in Divete for 3 times now, but after I go to another system, come back and kill all outlaws, I still have the "to do" task, so I eventually decided to change contracts. While I was doing this process of separating of the system and then coming back, I found another bug: if I separated of Divete let's say 1LY, but then approached to it without having approached to another system, when getting back to Divete the star didn't stop when I got near it, so it became bigger and bigger until I went through it. This is the same that happened before when loading a game and going to the destination directly instead of stopping at the saved space station, but luckily you got this one fixed. Hopefully you'll be able to fix the other ones too.
Yes you can, but For the early stages VirtualBoyFreak's advice is the way to go. Once you get a fairly large ship the trading will take off. I have the explorer ship, $41 million in the bank and am about 9300 LY from my staring planet.
Thanks Marsaults, as always Regarding missions, the most profitable by far are the "kill outlaws", since you get the money from the mission + the reward for each kill. Since I'm killing elite ships, each mission gives me 500k credits on average Btw, how do I become"friendlier" with the rebels? I'm doing a lot of "kill imperials" missions, but I'm only achieving a reduction in the relationship with the imperials, but no improvement at all with the rebels.
I will check if there is a bug with the reputatio with rebels. By the way, as i can see you have a lot of money, do you think it would be a good idea to be able to buy stations? (one can imagine that such stations would earn you money regularly, depending on their level)
Buy stations? Oh yes! That would be amazing! Nonetheless, I "only" have 9 million credits, I think drh1961 has more money than I have If you implement the possibility of buying space stations, they should be really expensive IMHO, not something easily achievable. What do the rest think? What price should a space station cost? I'd say 15-20 million credits per space station, but I'd like to know what the rest think.
Exactly. I think that poor stations could be affordable, but high level stations may cost hundred of millions... I don't know.. How much money does Drh have? #
He said 41 million credits a few posts ago. Something that would be ideal would be to have a counter of the amount of space stations owned, as the amount of kills, planets discovered, etc.
Yes i was planning to do that. Another question for you guys: owned stations give you money, based on real time (i.e even when you don't play Stellar Horizon: you open the application and see how much money your stations have given you during your inactivity), or based on game time (no money if you don't play)? I let players decide.
Mmmm... Difficult question. On one side, I'm tempted to say real time, but imagine someone who doesn't play for a month and after entering the game has 10 million more because of this... I don't know. Maybe you can do it based on game time and on station level...
If real time is used, i will try to prevent from such abuses: maybe by a 48 hours limit (you can't earn more than 48 hours of money) or other means.
That sounds greats. It's like Tiny Tower, where once all the items are sold, it stops generating money until you boot the game again and collect benefits. Maybe you could set something like "money generated: 10,000c/hour. Maximum stored in space station: 100,000c". That example could be for an average station that costs, let's say, 10 million credit. If the station costs 40 million, it could be 40,000c/hour with a max 400,000c stored, and so on. There could be a "collect" button as there is a "pay" button for the fine, which you have to click to collect all the benefits from all the space stations you own.
No bug Marsaults, it's ok. I finally went back to neutral with the rebels. I guess I have to kill more enemies than I expected to be considered neutral again. Thanks!
Hey everyone, how are you doing in the game statistically speaking? Here's a capture of mine. Trying to get rich, loyal to the rebels and to the outer rim of the galaxy is a slow process
My statis Screen capture of my status as of quitting time tonight I like the whole station idea but the earnings probably should be based on game time, not real time as VBF(can I call you that?) says. EDIT: Can't correct the subject line for typos as far as I can tell. Statis. Lol!
Yeah well, I'll find a "kill imperials" mission to get the fines removed... Hopefully! (I'm on a sector where there only seem to be "kill rebels" missions...) Regarding the space stations making money only during gameplay time, it's perfectly ok with me too. As I said on my first post on this topic, I wasn't sure on which option to choose, since both can be perfecty suitable for this game. And of course you can call me VBF, it's much quicker to write
Hi guys, next update is well advanced. Now, monoliths help you to discover something else, and player is able to buy stations. This may give new objectives to players who have already travelled thousands light years in Stellar Horizon! Just one question for those who have reached high levels: are dogfights still challenging? Are you destroyed sometimes? Do you hesitate to make kill missions? Thanks!
Since you ask, fights with elite ships tend to be a bit long, mainly because cannons overheat too soon. I've never been killed either, except once when I fought an elite enemy with my basic ship and got one-shot killed. They've got a bit more challenging, but are still far from a real fight challenge IMO. Sometimes enemies are facing me and we are going straight against each other, but they don't shoot. Other times they shoot all the time. IMO, if we're facing each other, they should be shooting always unless their cannons are overheated. What about a speed up/down throttle when in fights or approaching space stations? Could that be implemented?
