Hi tintin! It doesn't bother me at all that you are interested in the content of the next update! If by "life" you mean "vegetation", it will be very soon, roughly one week i think! There will be other features, like a new procedure for manual dock (more immersive for those who don't like auto-dock), with roll commands and a virtual trajectory to follow. Another feature will be the night infrared view, as some planet surfaces were very dark at night. This is still under progress, but well advanced!
Since we're on topic, did you think about adding the imperial/rebel missions? Is it viable? I find myself not finding too many encounters with outlaws lately, without motivation to enter a space fight with rebels/imperials because the only "reward" is having to pay a fee.
Awesome!!! That sounds fantastic. I can't wait!! I love the idea of night vision. There have been times where I see the planet when I approach it and it has awesome colors on it I get all excited to see the surface and it is dark. Station idea is also fantastic. I was also wondering, is this going to make the game more realistic looking. What I mean is, now it is sort of a retro space game which is incredible! The pictures with grass make it look a lot more realistic. Are you stepping toward realism or still staying with the retro style?
Imperial/rebels missions is something i plan to do (it will be the next important feature i think). By the way, there is a kind of reward when you kill imperial/rebels: your empire/rebel rank progresses. But definitively, it is not enough attractive! Concerning the retro/realistic style, i think it will roughly stay as it is.
Fantastic! Thanks for taking it into account. I also like the style as it is, and really appreciate the manual landing feature, since I always "bounce" over and over at the entrance of the space station when trying to do a manual docking.
Sounds nice, can't wait. Any more thought given to my ship request, is that still under consideration? 3000 LY out now...
The "planet count" bug which someone already described is still there. Not too much hassle, just so that you know.
In fact, i know this bug (planet id generation issue). The only way to solve it is : break the current universe, and re-generate a new one correctly. This would mean that after such an update, player will find himself in a new universe. Player stats wouldn't be modified. It is under dev, what do you guys think about it?
Well, if the stats remain unchanged and the only change is a new universe, it's okay with me. Would I begin at the same distance from the starting planet? In any case, as long as my progress keeps unchanged and my 40h of gameplay stay there along with all my medals it's okay
Yeah, that was me. Sometimes a full app shutdown resets it, but not 100% of the time. Planet and monolith discovery seem to be the only things affected.
Good, I would hate to lose my ship, cash, planets and monoliths discovered and most of all my distance from start!
Marsaults, is there a way to implement markers or something to know if I'm getting farther or nearer to the original planet? As I do it now, I fly at lightspeed and check the system screen. If I see that moving towards a planet 1-2LY makes me get farther away from the original system I began in, I continue flying towards that planet (which is usually 75-80LY away). The problem is that if I get attacked, I tend to get lost. Maybe there's a method. If so, anyone please enlighten me. The other option is to accept a mission and use the spotted line to navigate. I'm playing on a 4S, which means the Nav map is not very useful because of the screen size (and playing on the iPad 3 is very slow..). Thanks in advance. Btw, stuck at 511 planets discovered and the counter doesn't go up, so I can't claim the next planet explorer grade achieved at 512 planets
Or when in the navigation map have a small arrow pointing to your starting planet and another small arrow showing which way your ship is pointing. How I make sure I'm always moving away is simple. I noticed the navigation map only rotates around the z-axis, so up is always up and down is always down. I started by going down. As long as my destination planed is "below" my departure planet in the navigation map I know I'm moving away from my start point. So, simplest way is to start by going up or down in the nav map and sticking with that direction. If the planet is quite far away, and/or not named in the nav map then yeah, the method that VirtualBoyFreak describes here is our only option. the two arrows I mention here should help. VIrtualBoyFreak, Closing out the game and restarting your iPad does not resolve the planet discovery bug? In most cases, that works for me.
