Drifter is an upcoming game for iOS which has been in development for around 5 years. Its premise is nearly the same as in Stellar Horizon, but graphics are 2.5D. You can search for the game thread in the "upcoming games" section.
Thanks Marsaults Any updates you do are always appreciated, mine are only suggestions though. So please only implement them if you feel they bring something to your game, that you would be happy with and have the time to implement. Is there anything we (fans of the game) can do to help you promote the game?
Hey Marsaults, maybe there's no need to add an option to switch on/off the skip button. What about putting the skip button just below the "syst." button at the left? That zone seems quite empty button-wise, and that way it wouldn't appear in the very middle of the scene, but on the side, more accessible for the left thumb and allowing to enjoy the landing/takeoff sequence to those who want to see it fully. I guess developer-wise, it's as simple as moving the button to the desired position, no?
310LY away from home and I have been destroyed! I never thought it would be possible... But yes, you can be destroyed. Your "insurance" supplies you the worst ship again, so I quit the app and reloaded my savegame. Too much loss. I think next time I'm going to get nearer my system origin. Space fights are more accessible in the 200-250LY range. As a heads up: don't attack Elite imperial ships or you'll regret it
Ouch. Are you sure you were supplied with the worst ship? In my mind, it should have been an intermediate model, between the worst and your current ship. Maybe another policy should be preferable? (lose money only?)
It's better to lose money only, or lose commodities. In fact the ship wasn't the worst, but it was quite worse than the one I had. It's better a "your insurance supplies you with another ship, but charges XXX credits for delivery to your system", at least for me. I also saw that the "speed up" button appeared before ejecting. I didn't press it, but if I click it, it might happen as when I clicked it when landing. On a side note, is it viable to move the "skip" button as suggested?
I think i will do as suggested: the insurance charges you an amount of cash (25 % for example), you lose your cargo, and you keep the ship. The "speed up" button fix is ready. Move the "skip" and "dock" buttons is viable, but i'm afraid that new players may miss them if they are not in the center of the screen Especially for dock, as it appears on the station when you are aiming at the station. So as it is, it is obvious to the player that he has to hit it to enter the station. I guess that if i move the button on the side, some (new) players may say: "i don't know how to dock", "it doesn't work" etc... Maybe i'm wrong. I have to think about it.
If you keep the texts of "Skip" and "Dock", along with a paragraph explaining it in the instructions, it should be enough. The button only appears when you are in the condition of doing so. In my opinion it's quite intuitive that way, since the button pops up. Maybe a text saying "click on "dock" to enter station" that blinks 2-3 times before disappearing (as the ones that appear when you accept a contract) would do the trick. The "death price" you suggest seems more reasonable to me. The main problem now is that getting a new ship as the one you had is not only a matter o money, but also of ship stock on a given planet. Not all planets have the best ships for sale.
I'm not sure i understand. You wouldn't have to buy your ship again. Maybe you mean that it is not realistic to be supplied with your ship after it as been destroyed, as it may not be available on the system?
No no, what you are going to do is okay, I like it. I was saying that as it is now, when you get a ship worse than the one you had, it's a pain to find another system with a good spaceship. What you suggest of losing 25% of money and all cargo is fantastic and realistic: your ship was destroyed, so all your cargo was lost and the insurance charges you 25% of the money you have to deliver your new ship to where you are. That's fantastic! After 30h gameplay, I've finally achieved enough money to buy the Hawk Mk. II, and I also got Elite rating in Hunter rank I love the new space stations. Not only have they got different lengths, but also the inclination of the walls is different in each base. Amazing game
new stars: yes, in the next update vegetation: still a lot of work to do, so not in the next update, but probably in the following
you are great marsault, we need more indie devs like you, you really love what you are doing like us as players... congrats pal, you deserve the best!
