Wow, and I thought I was far being 135LY out from the starting system... I still have to get the best ship by far. I just bought one which costs approx. 1.6m credits, and I had to sell everything to buy it. The best ship and cannon is just going to be amazing, when I get there that is. Space battles are quite easy at the moment. When I get the best ship and all the maximum ranks, I'll be an asshole to the Imperial ships and destroy every single one of them, but not know because I get a fee of 25k for every ship destroyed. Piracy is not profitable in Stellar Horizon universe... yet
Unfortunately, such a port is not planned for the moment. But thanks for the compliment! Ok, it is good to know. I have to fix that in the next update. I never went so far from the start system! Do you think fees should be lowered?
I'm not sure, but one thing is clear: it's very expensive to kill Imperials. What I'm finding now is that: - It's okay to kill Rebels, they just hate you and attack you a bit more, but it doesn't cost credits. - Don't dare touch Imperials, the fees are too expensive to be paid if you kill more than 1 or 2. - Piracy is not profitable, since merchants seem to be protected by Imperials. As soon as I kill one, an Imperial ship in the vicinity attacks me. I still have to attack a civil, I don't know what happens if you kill those. As it is now, you are "forced" to be Imperial, and can't choose one side or the other. Being a rebel and killing imperials makes the fee amount shoot sky-high, and I guess that the higher the fee, the more aggresive the Imperial ships are. Maybe you could lower the fees a bit and add a Rebel fee too? What do the rest of players here think? That way, there would be 2 fees and you would be able to choose which side to support and which one to have against. I guess that if you decide to take this route in an update, you should reset the imperial-rebel bars to neutral and the Imperial fee to 0 in all the saved games, so that we could all begin in a neutral zone without having to start a new game.
You don't need the best ship really, just get one with the best weapon. I have the second best ship, it comes with the best weapon in the game also. The only difference between my ship and the best one is about maybe 40 cargo slots and a tiny bit more range. Not worth it IMO. Trouble is, when you are fighting a good ship, it can take a good 10 minutes to destroy it even with the best weapon. Multiple ship battles can take 30 minutes. I played an hour tonight and spent 75% of my time in battle. 3 out of 5 of my jumps forced me to fight. Thing is I'm not really in any danger, even multiple hits won't drop my shields. Mr Marsaults, One other question, can you pick up dropped cargo? I just run into it and nothing seems to happen.
New Bug? 20 hours game time 602 LY out PUMA XM ship, 347 of 364 cargo spaces full $7,790,607 in the bank With this ship and cash, I've changed my trading method. Now I have the space and cash to buy anything if the price is right, . I don't need to sell anything if I don't want to. I just wait until I find a planet that will give me a good price, then sell. Otherwise I hold it to sell later. Did I tell you I like this game? Definitely fills that elite need. New Bug? At about 570 LY out, new planets would no longer register as discovered. This happened three planets in a row. One had a monument that would not count as discovered either. What fixed this was exiting the app and shutting it down completely, then restart. All is good now I'll send a postcard when I get to 1000 LY
I'm working on this too long fight issue. This may give you a more challenging experience! For the dropped cargo issue, maybe you hadn't free space in your cargo? We are waiting for the 1000 Light years distant postcard(don't forget to join coordinates and name as well!). @virtualboy: i'm fixing the fee system. You may be less reluctent to kill imperials in the next update!
Thanks Marsaults! I'll be eagerly waiting for the next update (and I also want to see that 1000LY postcard )
974 LY out, almost there! Stopping tonight, gotta get up early tomorrow, long drive to work tomorrow. This game still has the "just one more planet" hooks in me.
Weird "light bug" report here: I took this mission last night and when I got to the first planet (Ruesde) I noticed that planets 1 and 4 showed the "completed" text, and then I noticed that they were the same planet but with different distances. I continued with the mission to see what happened and in the end it all went ok. The mission order the game sent me was planet 1+4, 5, 2, 3. After I visited all the planets in that order, the mission was given as completed and I moved on to another mission.
This is the screenshot of the bug, which didn't attach well before. Btw, you can see the "to do" and "completed" texts write on top of other texts. It's a small text issue I have on the 4S, along with some text with the planet details or the BBS disappearing through the right of the screen because it's too small. I guess the 4S is just too old and the screen too small...
Strange... I have no idea for the moment. I will try to investigate. Not for the moment. I will try to investigate that too. Anyways, update 1.0.18 is submitted. It will feature some of your requests, and some of mines: - new sound effect when leaving a station - commodities quantities in markets are tracked: if you buy all commodities, you'll have to wait before they become available again in the station - docks now have variable lengths - some graphical elements in space are optimized for slower devices - new buttons in commodities market: buy/sell all commodities of a category in one click (useful when you become really rich!) - trade earning value fixed : the real buy/sell prices are taken into account - imperial level fixed (they were only "competent" in dangerous systems) - bug fixed, concerning the possibility of hyperspace jump during the landing phase - nicer HUD effects when you explore a planet - more balanced dogfights (some ships were too strong, some weapons were too weak, some combats were way too long...) - fine values are fixed : it is not so serious to "accidentally" hit a imperial or a citizen... even killing one of them is accessible! - graphical settings changes are directly taken into account in the explore view (no need to move to update the graphical quality)
WOW, many things in the update submitted. Thanks Marsaults! Will be checking for it. Hopefully it will go live as fast as the others. Btw, I have to say that after more than 25 hours of gameplay registered by the game, the 3 it cost have been my best spent amount in the App Store in the last years. This game is well worth more, and for me is a GOTY, even though I'm pretty sure many won't agree. I had been waiting for a game called Drifter for years, but Stellar Horizon appeared out of nowhere and in the end it has proven to be exactly what I was looking for. Marsaults, I can't thank you enough for creating this gem, honestly
Hi Marsault, Does update 1.0.18 fix the bug on the iPhone 6+, where the game crashes when trying to dock with the very first station? (This is the bug that was reported by Ozes a page or two back in the thread.) If you need a crash report, I can send you one. Thanks!
Thanks a lot VirtualBoyFreak, it is really heartening! # I think the replies i had on this thread have helped me a lot to improve the game. So thanks again.
