This is a stupid question but, where can you see the total amount of money you have. I can't tell how much money I have so I can't know how much more I need to buy a ship.
When you are flying or docked in the station hit the sys button in the top left of the screen Full ship stats show up in the middle left of the sys screen
But no where does it say my total money. It says exchange earnings which is like -1350 U whatever the heck that means.
Update ahoy! Time to play again, this time optimized for slower devices (as my 4s... ) EDIT: the update is just fantastic. It works smooth as silk, exploring planets is fantastic now. It's great that s0 and s1 button (s0 = slow speed exploring, s1 = high speed exploring, in which every move forward goes 5 spaces instead of 1). As for the "skip" button bug I had when entering a planet, it has been "fixed". Fixed between inverted commas because sometimes, the bug wanted to happen and the skip button didn't appear at first when entering the planet surface, but after a few seconds (around 10-15 maximum) it appeared and I could enter the surface. I'm thinking that maybe the game makes a lot more calculations that my seem at first, and that's why these things happen (planet surfaces in space take more to appear than in the first versions, for example). In any case, for me it's enough fix, thanks Marsaults I've also had several space battles, and the up/down buttons have always appeared. Btw, I began a new game, because I remember reading somewhere here that it was better to fix some distance bugs.
I have a suggestion, marsault. Maybe laters in the game, give us the option to buy a warehouse on a planet. They'd be relatively expensive, but they'd let players store goods when they don't want to tote a bunch commodities around.
It's on the left, where you have the cargo used, the "pay" button if you're fined, etc. There you can see the cash you have.
Finally found my first monolith post-update, yay! This is how it looks on the 4s. I guess on more modern devices they'll look much better, but anyway, I'm really enjoying the game now.
So, for me, the space combat portion of this game is the hardest and least enjoyable. I'm just trying to hop from contract to contract to make enough to get an upgrade on my ship, since I'm still using the first ship. However, every time I run into a combat situation, it is difficult for me to get past the many enemies. They can move much faster than me, which makes sense. But every time I can maneuver to be behind them, I end up going faster than them, and only able to get a few shots on them before I pass them! How is it that I can pass them in the beginner ship? And if they can speed up and slow down in battle, why can't we do the same? And, I would still love to see a flee from battle option, unless it's already there and I'm just missing it.
On the bottom left of the HUD, if there's a monolith in a given planet, you'll see a number. Just move until it reaches 100. You should be able to find the monolith before getting to 100.
Maursalts, you have done it again. Planetary travel is much faster and so is planet exploration. The new option to travel greater distances is wonderful and I am ssooooo happy!! Thank you for your hard work and listening to my annoying pleas to make it work better on older devices ####
One more tad little problem, which to me isn't much of a problem at all, is the navigation map is laggy. But, it isn't thing urgent and the way it is now is perfectly fine.
Here's an image where you can see a monolith and the counter I'm telling you at the bottom left. The counter appears when landing if there's a monolith in the planet, but if you get too separated it'll disappear.
So, the higher it gets, the closer you are? Do you aimlessly look around or is there an actual way you can pinpoint the location?
Aimlessly no. An "s1" speed move correctly done should increase the number by 3-4 units. If you move forward and it decreases, turn around and move forward then. It's kinda easy. By the time you get to 70-80, if the planet surface is flat you should begin to see it. @Marsaults: I've had to pay a fine of nearly 60k credits because I attacked 5-6 imperial spaceships. Is it worth killing them? If I kill rebels, I get a reward for each ship killed. Is there anything story-wise which makes killing imperial ships interesting? At that fine rate, I'd own millions by the time I kill 30-40 imperial ships.
Don't you have to kill them in order to fly away from wherever you encounter them at? Every time I encounter ships, I have no choice but to try and defeat them all before I ever get an option to fly away. And yeah, I've racked up quite the fine too.
Nope, if you're at 0 fine, you don't need to attack any, as long as you're not being attacked. The red dots are the ones attacking you, the others are neutral. Once you kill the ones attacking you, you're good to go. If you've got a pending fine, then the imperial ships attack you, and it becomes a vicious circle. It's better to pay the fine and avoid killing them. Sometimes you arrive in the middle of a fight. In that case, you can avoid all or help imperial ships by killing rebels. Once you kill all the rebels, you're free to go too. EDIT: I'm getting very addicted to this game. It has that "just one more planet" feeling, and it's very difficult to put it down. I also love when rebels and pirates attack me as soon as I arrive. It's not the best spaceship control I've played (I miss a speed throttle too), but it sure is entertaining. I feel like Han Solo arriving to a system just to find myself fighting everyone who attacks me And all this in just 31MB installed... Incredible. @Marsaults: A request: when accepting contracts, could you show the text of planets already discovered in another colour? With all those weird names, it's very difficult for me when accepting a contract to know if I've already visited them or not. It would be great for example to see the text of already discovered planets in green. That way, I'd be able to accept jobs for undiscovered planets more easily.
I'm happy you can finally enjoy planetary travel! I will try to improve that that soon. I'm glad you appreciate Stellar Horizon ambiance! I will try to think about your suggestion concerning the highlight of discovered planets in contracts.
Sounds like an interesting idea. I keep it in mind. Did you start your game in the standard system (Zaerhea, level 5) , or in a random one? Random systems may be difficult, according to their level. Maybe i should make sure that the random start system is a low level one. Adjustable nominal speed may be introduced in the future, i have to think about it. Concerning the possibility to flee from a battle, i prevented it on purpose: i decided that exploration and trade in richer systems must be risky, and not something that novice is able to do immediately (which would be the case if fleeing was possible). But maybe other solutions are possible!
