I have it on 3DS, PS4, and iPad. I prefer iPad tbh. I wish you could pinch to zoom in and out though. Other than that I absolutely adore this game!

Dig is like a platformer version of Junk Jack, with exploration and lots of upgrades. It can be difficult but it's a great experience for the few hours that it lasts (it took me 5 I think).

Also yes levels are procedurally generated.

Just bought and gave this one a crack. The production values are through the roof on this one. Haven't gotten far enough to talk about depth, but man, those production values. Visuals, sounds, music, physics, geometry. Everything. Super high quality.

Agreed. I remember reading about this way back when they first started development and it sounded amazing - their original concept was much deeper with elements of free play space piracy around an open galaxy. Unfortunately it appears their plans were scaled back somewhat and that's lead to a more restricted and regimented progression. Which is a real shame but still, it's a great game.

The review on RockPaperShotgun gives more details on how it shapes up in comparison to the original concept.

Edit: And yes, iCloud saves sorely missing! Please add.

I had this on the DS and for some reason it just never grabbed me whereas on the iPad I'm loving every minute of it

Btw if you enjoy this gem, I can recommend their previous game - Anthill - an awesome RTS/TD hybrid, another iOS classic and still one of the best games ever made for the platform, both are highly recommended by me!

The game is really good. Very well implemented.

It desperately needs iCloud sync to continue progress between iPhone and iPad. It's essential in this type of game.

It's only similar to Junk Jack X in the mining mechanic, but even then it's closer to Motherlode or even Dig Dug in that regard. The core of the game is a Metroid-like platformer, where more areas become accessible as you upgrade your equipment.

You're right, I totally forgot about it!

    new game+?

I just finished the first area with 45 stars. I'm digging the new enemies and locations. I was wondering if there were some doors that would open up—red doors in some of the shops—but it doesn't look that way. Anyone know anything about opening those up?

Thanks for the heads up. It gets great reviews in the App Store so will try it after I finish this game.

I believe they've discussed about the shops' red doors in one of the threads on reddit. Apparently, it will not open up.

The thread was made 11 months ago so I'm not sure if we can open it now.

This is insanely fun, and I have never been able to get into strategy games. I bought Devil's Rise as well, we shall see how that goes..

But yeah this game is awesome! Wish they would bring SW Dig as well. I have it on the vita, but it would be perfect for mobile.
