Woa... I've been looking for a good Turn-Based RPG on the Ipod for a long time, then I heard FF and SteamPirates would be released. I jumped in joy, More so, I've also been looking for a decent Pirate game which I still haven't found, so it seems both my requests will be fulfilled

Well, I hope that simplification of combat won't make it less interesting to play. I mean, if the interface was unnecessarily fiddly or whatever, it is one thing, but in a game that has a lot of combat, it really shouldn't be dumbed down too much. IMHO, the existing turn-based RPGs on the iplatform aren't tactical enough. Oh, and BTW, will it be released for 2.2.1 too or only for 3+? I still can't decide to upgrade, since reportedly Wi-fi works worse for iPods on the newer OS.
Wasn't that fixed with 3.1? Seemed to me a small minority anyway. I don't wanna put a downer on an otherwise awesome looking game, but the UI seems kinda simplistic and rushed in comparison to the rest of the artwork: ...kinda hoping it's just a placeholder.

I just finished listening to the soundtrack for this game on their website and I'm even more stoked to play this game. It's so legit.
