Just got both max payne games for 3.74. The best part about steam is that I just found out that they can give you refunds! I accidentally bought EQ 2 ruins of Kunark for 5 bucks then bought Shadow Odyessy for the same price because it included ruins of kunark (i'm it's normally lower in price when both titles aren't on sale) I e-mailed steam asking for a refund on Ruins and they gave it to me 3 days later! I'm pretty sure the same can be done if the game doesn't work on the pc as well, as long as you e-mail them asap so they know you didn't just play and beat the game.

Got OSMOS for 2 bucks and really want to get L4D for my friend but he doesn't have the patience to learn how to play FPS games :-/

Mac users can take advantage of steam too if they own the new versions with bootcamp.

    This. Thread. Should. Not. Exist.

Man, I was fine with PC having all the games coz @ $40+ a game, I was never interested in buying any OC game anyways. But now with this steam sale, every day I feel bad for not having a pc to take advantage of such great deals =(

(And no, bootcamp on my 3.5 year old MB wont cut it)

All of the old games I've bought through Steam have worked fine in Windows 7. I haven't tried Max Payne yet, but I don't see any reason why they wouldn't.

This sale continues to blow my mind with its crazy deals. I'm going to go broke if it keeps up much longer.

Max Payne 1+2 supposedly works fine on Windows 64 bit with the exception of some sound issues that needs to be patched. I haven't downloaded the game yet but if you go on the Steam forums there's a support page for each game there and it's very active (and about 100 times more helpful than gamefaqs) with people talking to each other about the new games and solving technical issues.

The funny thing about these steam deals is that the price of some of these games are comparable to competitive iphone app prices! STALKER was 2 bucks last week PREY was 4 bucks BIOSHOCK was about 5 and JADE EMPIRE was 3.75 last night! These are are all high profile games too and you're going to getmany hours worth of gameplay here :)

Yes but I'm not interested in installing a 10GB OS on my computer when I only have 15 GB's left.

FYI, some games I port myself with a copy of Cider that I have.
I made myself a port of Portal, (no pun intended) and it runs just great. It's like 3 GB's though. Also made a port of Sins of a Solar Empire. I have the wrapper for that one, so if someone with a Mac wants to go out and buy it, I'll PM them the wrapper (but you need a copy of CrossOver, can be the trial though.)

If only I had access to Steam, then I could do it without having to buy all the games at retail.

    -sigh-

Why does Valve hate Steve Jobs?

(Please, no comment from the Windows fanboys peanut gallery)

EDIT: Found my old Windows 7 beta key, and installed it on VMware Fusion! It wasn't many gig's either!
    Yay!

omg just bought the eidos collector's pack for 50 bucks http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2687/ I normally don't go on a spending spree for videogames but it's 20 games! I'll actually play most of them too! The most notable ones in the collection would have to be batman, deus ex, hitman, thief 3 and tomb raider games :)

Valve was willing to port the Steam service to the mac for a million dollars but Apple turned down the offer. Rumor has it that Apple looks down upon videogames. They weren't happy about how it's starting to define the ipod touch's image so they had to hire some high profile game designers to bank on it.

So what you're saying is that you own Braid on 2 platforms, or half of the devices you own.

Portal's also on sale for $5. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes games.
