I d/led and installed it on my MacBook. When I open the Client, Torchlight, Braid and Osmos where right there waiting for me, and of course my Orange Box Portal. If you are on a Mac and on a budget AND want to top game get the Steam Client an the Free for all time Portal. It simply does not get any better!!! I am totally drooling about this, here!
looking forward to getting home and trying this. Has anyone tested out other games on the Mac from steam? My steam game list is as follows: Audio Surf Deus Ex Deus Ex Invisible War Beyond Good & Evil Half-Life 2 Half-Life Episode 1 Max Payne Max Payne 2
Im pretty sure that only games that are available on the store will work on mac. As in, if those games you listed above will ever be on a Mac, the dev will have to port it over. Which sucks, cuz I WANT MY TF 2 NOW!!! Im so pissed because I though it was going to be a release day game.
Half of my essay left to write before I'm done with spring semester and can play Torchlight until 5am. ARRRRGGG
Hi, my only previous steam game was Audiosurf. Once you install the steam client and login with your account it does appear in your games list but it says it's not available for the platform. We just have to hope it will be ported.
i downloaded TORCHLIGHT yesterday. running really fast on 1280x800 and full details on macbook pro 13" (2010 model) with the integrated graphic chip it's really cool that the devs of games like machinarium have a new platform to sell their great games now
I tried to install two demo versions and had weird issues with both. Both games are reported as compatible with Mac. 1)Quantz. I downloaded the demo, but then I have no "play" button in the library - it says it's not compatible with the platform. What did steam download on my Mac, then, the PC demo? Deleted. 2)And Yet It Moves. Downloaded, but whenever I hit play, Steam freezes. Tried multiple times. Then I decided to delete it, And Yet It Freezes. So I can't play it and I can't even cancel it. Portal works fine, though.
Just bought the Telltale pack and Steam Play Indie Pack. These games are going to keep me happy for quite a while. Played a little of Portal. Cool game.
I loved portal on the Orange Box so I'll download it for kicks. I never really used steam for the PC because my machines weren't that great, but I could get into this on my Mac. Hopefully they'll port the original Half-Life.
New Mac games every Wednesday. Problem with the Macs are the hardware is shitty and overpriced so I can't see anyone giving up Windows for Mac gaming. Still nice to have for people with mac laptops and are away somewhere, but when at home bring out the windows desktop.
Dude give it up already. This thread isn't a platform war, he's making a valid point. I'm typing this on a MacBook, so it's clear I'm not picking sides here, but JEEEESUS how long are you people gonna use that one shitty "no virus" line? If you're not a total idiot you can own a PC without problems from viruses, it's really not as big an issue as Mac fans desperately claim it to be.
World of Goo itself is the price of the indie pack. It's like getting four other free games in a bundle and they are all excellent, having Machinarium in the pack is enough to justify my purchase, let alone I really like WoG.
I wasn't trying to start a platform war, its just that I have a PC laptop and an iMac, and i've completely given up on surfing the web on my PC. I do agree that its a better gaming device though, i've played enough games on it
As I always have in these arguments, I will direct your attention to a picture or 2: Oh and I thought this one was pretty good:
