I also find this an amazing game, both stealth and speed. In fact, it's got two different stages: first you play stealth to learn how to do the stage, and after you play as fast as possible to beat the times. I never got into LoE, VR missions or similar, but this one has me hooked. Count me in for the IAP level pack as soon as the update appears. A question for the dev: can you give the option of having left/right buttons instead of the joystick? I think my times would be better with this control setting, rather than the joystick, but I'm not 100% sure.
To the dev: do you have plans to add the gear/suits as the PC version? I think it adds some nice replayability. Also, I prefer virtual buttons as well for left/right instead of a virtual stick. At least it worked extremely well in LoE.
This + 1. I don't mind the invisible v stick. Analog seems redundant though considering how touchy it is, especially with ducking already making you move at walking pace. Don't get me wrong, the controls are very good. More options is always better though. As far as the gear goes, I'd love to have it. I'm replaying levels anyways, I'm pretty much getting 3 (successful) runs out of each level. 1 to complete the first time. 1 for helix. 1 for S rank. The gear would be nice for the helix run though.
Both pushable block returned to their original positions after I died. Was that a bug? Now I'm stuck. http://i.imgur.com/fMdeP0dl.jpg
The dev said $2. I don't know if it will translate to £2 or 2, but in any case, very worth each cent. This one has hooked me well
The Android version of the game is not available anywhere officially, no. Any links are pirate links.
Here's the deal with the Community Levels IAP. - It's my first app submission, so when I originally submitted 1.0.0. I didn't know I had to tick a box for the IAP to go live - Apple approved 1.0.0 about 3 weeks before release, not picking up on the non-working IAP - I realise the IAP is not working myself about 1 week before release - I put 1.0.1. up, which is just the same .ipa with the IAP box ticked - I request an expedited review from Apple which is denied - A week later, the app is rejected because it doesn't have a Restore button (again, I'm a first timer) - I implement a Restore button, but the GameMaker functionality for restoring IAP isn't working :S - YoYo are in the middle of rewriting the IAP functionality for GameMaker, it's pretty much done, but untested. - I get a new build from YoYo with their newly written IAP system in, but it's hot off the presses and hasn't been tested. It crashes the game on launch. So, that's where I am. This silly little Restore button and tiny bit of functionality is stopping me from getting this live. YoYo are trying to help, but I'm not currently sure when I'll get the Restore functionality in my build, and it'll then be a week after that that Apple approve the update (presuming they deny my request to expedite again). I'm rather unhappy about it all. The way I play it, you don't need to try to stop when you hit a switch or hack a terminal. Placing your finger where the hack button WILL appear means it is triggered as soon as it does. I run past with my finger already in that position, and the switch is pressed as I run, or the player comes to a stop because they are hacking. I appreciate this very much. Thank you!
The equipment is not in this version, no. The reasoning is that the controls would not be up to the task, since each piece adds two buttons which need to be pressed at the same time as performing other actions. This is fine on controllers (you can use shoulder buttons) and just about doable on keyboard, but is just not up to standard on touch screens. There's no way you can run, jump and throw and then teleport with any fluidity (that's four separate buttons at the same time), so I wasn't prepared to make people try. I've noticed that the achievement is still live though, which is a mistake (not mine!). I'm going to have to swap it for a different achievement. Anyone got any suggestions?
iOS 7 controllers should be supported, but there's no way of knowing until they come out. As soon as they do, I'll grab one to test the functionality, and patch up any problems that there might be. It should be fine though, since I'm told it'll use the same bindings as the existing 360/PS3 pad functionality, which is still in the build. I'll look into iCade! EDIT: I'm told iCade should just work. Have you tried it?
It will work 100% of the time that you are pressing towards the ledge you want to grab onto. 100%! <rocks in the corner, singing to self>
Hey Onebitbeyond, what about the request of left-right buttons instead of a joystick? Can that be done easily? I know you're fighting with IAP issues at the moment, just asking if it is feasible to be done in future updates.
Stealth Inc. was successfully nominated for Touch Arcade forums' Game of the Week poll. Voting will occur over the next three days at the link below. Developers may not vote for their own games, new user votes subject to review. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=209448
What a big frustrating pain in the butt. I'm sorry to hear all that but I am honored, truly, that you care about your iOS fans deeply enough to go through all that trouble to provide us all that great extra content. We really appreciate the effort... I think I can speak for everyone on that. I hope they grant you an expedited review and that the problems get worked out but even if it takes a couple weeks I have $2 just waiting to pick the IAP up as soon as it releases. Thanks for the tip about holding down the hack button before it appears. I've tried it and found it to be quite successful . I'm still accidentally hitting the jump button when I mean to hack occasionally but that tip definitely helps me 'stop on a dime'. Thanks again for the great game and courtesy of keeping us all informed. I'm looking forward to see what sort if game you will bring us next... Thankfully ill have 1600 community levels to keep me busy til then.
What if you tried incorporating swipes to use equipment? In a game that's driven by on-screen buttons, swiping the main screen area would be easy to implement. Also sorry for all the trouble the App store is giving you. As much as I like their products, Apple can be a huge pain sometimes.
