Yes very sure as I have said I didn't use anything as reference. It is word that just pop on my head which I dont even know the meaning of it nor I have seen such word before. lmao. But after I try to look at the character and think again I find that it does sound cute and do match the character and so I decided to give a shot and post it.
You don't have to worry. It's not copyrighted. It's just the name of a well-known bird in New Zealand It has a crazy call that I used to like listening to when I lived there (they're fairly common birds). More info here. Here's what it sounds like. So, keep that name! It's cool!

Some Names I thought of for the characters- It looks like a quirky, yet serene game with a lot of character, these names are based on what I could gather from the image and other reference material you have provided in the post. Normal- Dinkle Weak - Tiny Twins- I cant think of a suitable name for this sorry. Floater- Angel (could be out of context, im not sure the role it plays in the game) Stubborn-GU4Rd14N (Guardian-he sort of looks like a robot) Rectangle- Cooch Jelly - J-Ball
Imo 'jellee' sounds kinda plain for the jelly one. Why not go for something absurdly the opposite, like 'Sir Yelathon XIV'?
