I have so far gone to some length to keep the status bar visible, and cleanly integrated, in my Apps. It caused some hassle transitioning from iOS 6 to 7, but I stuck with it. These are brainteaser-style puzzles. I like to think of folks playing them while commuting on a train, or whatever, in which case they probably want to see signal strength etc, as reassurance they are still in contact with the outside world. Any other views though, is it really worth the effort? Or should it even be user-configurable from a switch in the App's settings?
I never care about the status bar when using an app. It is easy to jus push the home button to see it.
