The update to fix these crashes will be available soon.

One of the bugs fixed was the displaced Crusader blueprint, and I have no idea how the game will react to your self-fixed versions. Hoping for the best!

Mjollnir looks beast. What comes after that?

Trying to decide whether to buy Thane or Arbiter as my first super carrier. Got 33m saved up. Or just wait a little for Mjollnir. I suppose Arbiter looks like a challenge to build something decent.

Mjolnir is quite good but the two ships to follow mostly make short work of it. Arbiter is a neat idea but I rarely if ever see it win. Could be good after the blueprint improvements? If you want a new ship now I would recommend a Thane. They are solid through and through.

The Arbiter has immense potential for firepower, but there are not too good defensive options on that one. Mostly enemies tend to target the center of a ship, and if you manage to keep your Arbiter facing the enemy at all times, an armored bridge can, however, soak huge amounts of punishment.

The Thane, as was suggested, is a solid ship on all accounts. No real weaknesses and a lot of strengths. It is far less agile than the other Supercarriers and has no room for a support, but its sheer size often makes up for this. I defined its level requirement as the lowest since it was in my personal experience the least strong out of its class. This may be untrue for playstyles different from mine.

The Mjollnir is a high-risk design. The narrow central hull can be easily blasted through, but the vast size of the frontal part allows for extreme damage output and resistance up close and personal. It is likely my own personal favorite ship.

The ones coming after that... you'll just have to wait and see :)

Rank 30 to 18 this week. Using 2x Baron and 2x Cap. On paper I don’t see any reasons to dish out cash on Duke nor Sleipnir, but darn gosh am I looking forward to a mine-heavy Thane (4 levels to go).

Have the shield bugs been fixed? Keep meeting few Barons which I can’t damage at all and the fights last like 4 minutes. Sometimes it feels like my shields last way too long too. Less Crusaders at my rating luckily, since after patch they are automatic -1 rating 0xp/creds. Lost like 20 to them, but then again others have it too so I guess it's balanced.

I have only fought it a few times but the arbiter definitely has potential. the way its shaped is really good if its a 1v1 situation with the middle area soaking up damage and turrets on the left and right hulls shooting an opponent on the sides when it gets too close. The only real issue it has is its weak supports as any weapon at that stage make short work out of ravens.

In my experince arbiter is seriously underpowered. I haven't faced a single arbiter build that works because the supports are so squishy and it's impossible to shield/armor all spots where your opponent can easily hit you even if he has no supports. I think I've lost once to an Arbiter and that was with baron against some dev's build that was filled with mine launchers and only cuz my main ship ran straight into like 50 mines. Just get Thane's until you can get Hammerhead or l50 ships.

I was enjoying the game until some of the ships during battle were moving oddly. I had two support fighters and they would fly backwards off screen and not come back for a good 5 seconds. During which time I was getting blasted. Part of my defense is using the two smaller ships and if they retreat I lose most of my strategy to win the battle. Huge turn off!

Sometimes it looks like your ship/supports are "flying backwards" but if you look at the background stars a bit closer, 99% of the time it's your enemy ship backing off at high speed (most likely using an Afterburner). Small supports with little thrust cannot keep up with it and get left behind.

Lots of engine power usually translates into more shots on enemy sides, getting out of range of pesky supports and generally keeping your front armor towards the action, but as I've fought almost 1500 rounds I see many people disregard the "optional" engine slots and imho, usually it's not a good idea (unless you are heavily armored in every direction and using only turrets\mines).

You can counter this later on by giving supports Warp engines or just more thrusters.

A bit over a level to go and I can swap my two old Barons for Thanes, been stuck a bit at 980-990 rating since there's just so many bigger laser ships Barons do bad against.

For some reason, I just damn hate lasers. :D

    Possible bug with Anti-missile turrets

I've either encountered a bug or am mistaken in how the anti-missile turret functions.

I recently got into a stalemate where I had one missile launcher, and my opponent had one anti-missile turret left, after a long fought battle. What was happening was they'd lose power but the turret would keep functioning and shooting down my missiles. Then they'd regain power just for a bit to straighten out, then they'd get set adrift. Now, is that a bug? Or does the anti-missile turret hold a charge that is only replenished when empty, and the ship has power?

Thanks for the awesome game! Everyone I've introduced to it has loved it.

What's the deal with the rating system? Today i won three matches in a row, the rating did go up from 850 to 853, lost one, rating dropped to 852 and then i won again, but this time the opponent was much lower rating opponent and my rating didn't rise. I understand this after losing many battles, but now i just won three and then lost one.

After the update my game has been crashing, usually while in battle, which is an automatic defeat. Sometimes the game crashes while building a new design, but then i only have to build it again. The crashes during battle are a bit annoying, especially combined with not getting rating from won matches and trying to climb up in the diamond league.

I've also had crashes more frequently after the latest updates. There were occasional crashes earlier, but since the updates I have not been able to activate all my ships (four ships = eight battles per cooldown) without the game crashing at least once.

Here's what I've noticed so far:
    - If you beat a much lower rated opponent, you might not always gain rating
    - If you lose to a much higher rated opponent, you'll still lose rating
    - Sometimes when you login and have a lot of losses in the "background" (like you login and had 4 defeats), you might have lost 1-4 rating -- this might be a syncing issue as well, not 100% sure
    - Winstreaks increase rating gained
    - Losing once resets the winstreak completely
    - After four wins, you gain two rating per win (so 5th win gives 2)
    - At around seven to nine wins in a row, you start to gain three rating per win
    - At around ten to fourteen wins in a row, you start to gain four rating per win

My highest winstreak has been something like fifteen to seventeen. The reason I say "around" is that I didn't keep track, but just noticed that when I got the 15 winstreak achievement, I was gaining four rating per win in the end of it. This happened to me (and I guess many others) after the recent balance changes which left a lot of ships on the serverside on low power. Most of those ships have already disappeared from the system, but I still meet a few every now and then.

Anyone know if there is such a thing as a loss-streak in which you can lose more than one rating? I could swear I've seen -2 for a loss at some point.

I just had a really frustrating set of battles. Won 5 matches out of 8, lost 3 and my total rating dropped by 1, because 3 of the matches i won didn't give any rating. Before that i had a winstreak, won something like 6 battles out of 8, then had a losing streak, lost 6 battles out of 8. Why do i keep getting so many low level opponents? Especially in situations where i have won one battle, +1 rating, then won another, 0 rating because opponent's low rating, it just doesn't make sense.

Finally hit Master League achievement with 1000 points....although scoreboard showing me as 999 points at top of Champion league currently.

Was up and down in the 99x range for ages. In the end, I stuck with my lone Vindicator for the last couple of days to take me to 1000, and left my other 4 ships dormant.

Still would love to be able to see full track of all battles you've been in - or maybe just last 50 battles - just for more info on success of particular ships / streaks / and to track the movement in your own ranking. I don't think I've lost with my when I've initiated the battle, but not sure.

Am sure it's already mentioned earlier, but you don't lose or gain ranking from battles that happen when you're not in the game. Is that right? It certainly happened that way last couple of days as I was paying close attention trying to get the 1000.

Any update on the Crusader modules? Not bought the extras yet, the preview of each overlaps an existing block already, so it looks like you're only buying one single block each side instead of two for example. Might just be a visual issue and would actually be fine if I go ahead and buy the extra - a bit like the previous blueprint issue when the whole shop was one block shifted down.

Has anyone taken the plunge with Crusader extra modules?

    Current ships...musings...
    Eidolon
    Thane
    Vindicator
    Crusader
    Crusader

Got enough to replace Eidolon and a Crusader with Vindicators, so will prob do that.
Keeping the other Crusader as I like the shape and will be cool once/if I go for the extra modules. Seems relatively successful build for
    me.
Thane is a real struggler for me, not seemingly very successful and is a bit slow...but I just can't get rid of it yet as it cost a pretty penny - I just need to experiment a bit more with it I think.

Anyway, now I'm on 1000, I guess I'll be dipping in and out of master league with each win or loss.

    Nitpick of the week...

When you can see the corner of another ship on the select screen. Can just see the right tip of a support ship on the left of the current ship....if the ship to the left has a support ship of course!

Maybe that qualifies as nitpick of the month!!!

Ribatzki: What incentive is there to play Fleet Arena after lvl 50? (I'm lvl 49 now @ 1054 rating). Do we get more Celestium since there is no longer XP to be gained?

Also, I've only purchased one supercarrier so far (Thane) and still relying on 2x Captain + 1x Baron with it, so far. I think the Thane is a good ship on, but it could honestly have one more engine square so you could fit two 2x3 engine blocks after all the celestium upgrades. Feels like it's just a bit too slow to turn against the more agile ships.

I've beaten multiple Thanes even on my Barons just due agility. I don't think it's simply right that a ship costing 1.8m beats a ship costing 9m.

Lastly, people @ lvl 50 -- I'd like some thoughts about Vindicator vs. Revenant?

I'd say Vindiactor has been my most successful ship so far. Got 3 at the moment, and definitely notice a higher win result when using them.

For me, it's the Warrior support ship that adds a lot of value and seems to make a big difference. Prob confirmation bias, but both the Vindicator and Warrior support seem to fly good paths and respond / dodge well.

I've got one Vinidcator with all extra modules, but it's not made a noticeable difference for me.

Got a Thane with fully pimped extra modules but struggling to do a really good build, even though it looks like it should be the best. Will keep experimenting.

Not got Revenant, but can't remember losing to one where I've initiated battle.

The support Scythes go down too easily.

However, the main ship does whizz round like crazy, so I've maybe just got lucky in the battles I've seen.
