Me too. But whatever, i'm having fun with it. This sale will only bring in more players online, so i'm actually happy about it
They just gave it a sale of $2.99... F*cking marketing noobs. Ohh well. Hopefully it will bring more players in for Multiplayer. That's never a bad thing. I didn't like it at first either. It wasn't untill I started getting more ships and badass upgrades and parts that I became ultimately addicted. Worms it fun don't get me wrong, but this game takes that style to a whole new bad-ass level. Just my .02 though.
if you have star hogs and like playing online join my group! http://forums.toucharcade.com/group.php?groupid=66
I like Worms, but this game beat's it for me. It takes a tried and true game type and adds to it in a fairly unique way. I got hooked on this game more than Worms. Nice idea, joined the group.
No matter WHAT you paid (I paid $3), the sale is a good thing for all of us: it will bring more online players. Heck, I've already paid my money, so what does it hurt me if others get it cheaper? It HELPS me--so I say, make it free
Wow this is a great deal! Get it while you can even if you wont play it now, 1.2 will have chat! Battle your friends online
And I bought it on friday at 2.39. Good game tho. But worms has nicer maps! The maps in star hogs look sooooo ugly!
At $.99, I couldn't resist the purchase even though the lite version really didn't entice me either. I will admit though that the more I play the game, the more enjoyment I get from it. I can however also understand that Worms has much cuter and colourful graphics/maps which may really be the main reason why Star Hogs feels so meh to most people. The maps are so terribly boring (in terms of looks) and I found it difficult to get past the "staleness" of the graphics, but thankfully the gameplay is smooth as butter. But you're not likely to going to get that sentiment from just the lite version as the game really looks dry and empty.... Just my 2 cents..
I guess I'm not comparing to anything else since nothing else uses the same setting. It's set in space on piles of asteroids, and looks good to me! Traditional landscapes could have less black than space, I'm sure
I tried the lite today and bought the full version right after that. Controls sold me immediately - better than any version of worms I've ever tried. Worms is nice, but it has been the same game in years and years - this one feels like a refreshing variation on the subject.
I went to the iugo forum yesterday. They had a list of items that they are working on for the next update. One of the things include better in-game graphics. Well, for me, it already looks very good. I like that the game is very smooth too and they'd obviously perfected the controls. No other trajectory games on the appstore even come close to the controls star hogs has (played ishoot, pocket tanks, snails, bowman). IMO, the devs had contributed greatly to the advancement of this genre and should deserve some credit for being daring enough to break new ground (and go to space!). They could've easily made another land-based over the mountain trajectory game, but they didn't.
I just bought it and loving it. The main draw for me is online multiplaying. Owns. I own Worms too, Star Hogs beats Worms hands down. I'm glad I waited. I almost bought it at $4.99
