Love, love, love the game! A couple of things though: 1) It feels like it is impossible to get the "100" balloon on some levels. Is this true, or am I just not seeing how to do it? 2) Where oh where is the freaking temple-key on level3?!
sometimes you'll need to run off of a platform, and then jump while you're in the air, instead of jumping off of the platform, in order to get the 100 balloon...
4-7 key I'm at 98% and found every key in about 2-3 minutes per level.. I've played 4-7 for 30 minutes and can't find the key. Bug? Or is it really that well hidden? Haha got it! 100% complete!
This is a fabulous game with a great gameplay. I just played it for few minutes , it was good to hook around for that few minutes. There is no reason to not give it a whirl.
I stand by the comments I made about stardash on the Icade forum, which were a good game, no problems from what I could see as far as Icade controls go. I did make a comment about I would like to see on screen controls disapear if using the Icade. But in the end it's good old school fun
Can you really go left, don't tease me I want to buy this game but if I can't go left it will ruin it for me.
Yes, you can go left. But the way some levels are designed, you may only be able to backtrack a little due to a ledge being to high to jump back up to - therefore, you may have missed the jump to higher coins, etc. and will have to replay the level.
THE UPDATE'S OUT! Yesssss!!! Can't wait to play this finally! EDIT: I love it!!! I can't help playing without a huge smile on my face!!
Version 1.0.1 Update -- controls more transparent -- smaller pause button -- startup crash on ios 3.x solved -- onscreen controls hide when using joypad -- fix for "locked" movement in rare cases -- backscreen stays lit (when playing without touchscreen)
Going on the screenshots in iTunes it looks like this game is still weirdly stretched, and buttons poorly placed for the iPad - is that correct, or do the screenshots need updating? I'd primarily want to play this on the iPad, and I'm not feeling it from the screenshots. Needs to have buttons positioned like in games such as 1000 Heroz so it's comfortable to play on a tablet, and definitely needs not to be strangely stretched. I'd even be fine with letter boxing it. At least an option for that.
True. The levels are short though compared to the inspiration so multiple run-throughs to get the coins isn't a big deal here (IMHO).
Must admit i'm torn on this LOVE the way it looks, glad they went for the original Gameboy look. Graphics are superb, controls are very good But damn the difficulty setting is really putting me off. The original Mario Land was fun to play, this is like taking an exam remembering exactly the sequence of jumps just to get past the first obstacle. Some of the levels are very very tricky, the one i'm on at the moment i'm pulling my hair out and have nearly given up and this is the last level of world 2 ! Not exactly near the end. I'm not a bad gamesplayer or that but this seems way too difficult at the moment, agree with some of the recent reviews. If this was slightly easier and not lots of 'tear your hair out' moments it'll be one of the best games i've got. But that difficultly level, damn ! Sounds harsh but its just ridiculous how difficult some of the levels are, when games are so cheap and a plenty on the App store its much easier to think 'damn i'm fed up with this, i give up, i'm moving onto the next game....' Surely they had testers who said 'you know this is very difficult early on...' ! Platform games are normally fun but this is turning into a stressful nightmare !
it's at the very beginning of the level, go left onto that moving platform, and then jump against the edge of the wall on the right, you'll go into the wall, and the key is in there...
