Looking for a Lonely Planet ebook code...I wonder when will they extend the promos to the Starbucks here..
what is this pick of the week stuff? is there a starbucks app which gives free promo codes or something? someone please explain
Inside Starbucks locations are often little grey business card sized paper handouts that include a promo code for an "app of the week" on the back. These are usually located next to the condiments (sugar, straws) or by the register. Starbucks has had iTunes "song of the week for some time and they recently introduced apps and in some cases ebooks (all on similar looking cards often jumbled together). Since they are out in the open it lends itself to pilfering and sharing.
For the US iTunes store you can follow a URL to redeem the Song of the Week. Here's the one for the current song. http://www.starbucks.com/sdn/itunes/code/131 Clicking on it will launch iTunes and redeem the code automatically. It only works for the US. I don't know if there's a similar link for the Canadian store. You can decrease the number to redeem any of the earlier songs that haven't expired yet. I don't think there's anything similar for the App of the Week yet.
Someone has been compiling a list of all the picks of the weeks since the program started years ago: http://www.mark-heringer.com/2008/04/starbucks-itunes-pick-of-week-list.html It lists expiration dates too - so for songs use the link in the above post to get the latest two or three.
