No alert in the app yet for me. I even went in settings and turned on Promotions and PotW. Do you need to sign up for a starbucks account?
According to the in-app FAQ for messages, "A Starbucks account is not required to use the inbox. In the future, when we send Free Beverage coupons and other earned rewards to your inbox - you will need to be logged in to your Starbucks account to receive them. If you have any issues with Inbox, please email us at [email protected] with your problem." Now I did make an account when I installed this app a while ago, just in case some free drink coupons decided to make its way to my inbox. I am signed in and I do see a notification for the "pick of the week" download message in my Inbox. Perhaps these downloads are what they meant by "other earned rewards"? I don't know, and I realize that doesn't specifically answer your question, but all I can do is report on my own experience with this app. Hope that helps! LOL! Well, I'm Canadian, and I went great lengths to get this app for free Took about 30 minutes in total, but totally worth it. For those wondering how I did it, you do not need a computer. On your device, switch country to 'United States' while setting payment information to 'none'. Now go to this link on your device: http://www.starbucks.com/mobilenotification/getitunesredirect?assetID=269 If it asks you to switch stores, you should do so, reentering your password if necessary. Then accept the updated terms and conditions and voila, you don't need to be in U.S. to take advantage of this offer. Hope I helped.
