So will the codes in the future be reddemable around the world as long as you have an US account? I'm not asking for a code, I'm just curious

 

Already have AB:SW, but it'll be nice to not have I chase down cards at the stores.

 

One of the articles covering this posted a correction (of sorts) that said, "It’s unclear whether the printed cards will be discontinued, or if they will be offered simultaneously with the in-app downloads."

I know when they started doing this with songs, they offered a different song in-app to the one available on-card, in-store. These days they are usually the same, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes with the apps and books. Either way, this makes the Starbucks app a whole lot more useful and worth keeping on my device!

(And to those whining that the link doesn't work, go install the Starbucks app! That's what it's for. To give you working direct connections for this stuff.)

 

I'll just point it out for the 50 billionth time that begging for codes (and posting codes) is against the forum rules. If you want to get a code, wait until you see someone who has a code/codes and is willing to give it away, then PM them asking then for it, and see if they accept. If they don't, wait for another person to post the same thing.

 

I downloaded the app, but don't see an option to turn on messages like you alluded to in a previous post. Do the messages just come without any settings changes? And if we installed it now, did we miss the earlier message for sw? Do we need to set up an starbucks account to get messages?

This question is for anyone actually.

I don't think this promotion was supposed to go live till tomorrow. Sounds like this is Apple correcting its mistake.

 

I don't need AB:SW, already bought that for a buck. Still, I'm downloading the app so hopefully there will be alerts and stuff for these deals. Hopefully we get some nice freebies without all the card chasing.

But it is now working for me, US store, give it a try you all.

I had already bought the hd version, so don't really care about the sd version, though probably pretty soon I will get an iphone 6, so maybe it is good to get this.

I just meant make sure that the app has permissions set under "notifications" in your device's settings. It works just like any other app that way; it just happens that I have notifications set to auto-turned-off, so I have to remember to enable them for specific apps.

Yup, it was mentioned in the Cnet article that the promotion was supposed to go live on April 10th. It should work for everyone (in the US) by then. It's live for me now.

 

Dammit, I went to my Starbucks and touched to pay with your card. Didn't work.

This is US only. Starbucks doesn't even have a "Messages" section in the app for us Canadians.

Well, back to checking at Starbucks every Tuesday for those little cardboard cards.

You have to use the app to get the code anyway so theres no point coming here to beg for a code. Any begging posts will be deleted
