I think I reached my boredom limit with this already. Level designs are fairly similar, gear drops are pretty rare. It feels like the game wants to push crafting or upgrading as a time/resource/money sink so you'll end up with tons of gray gear that is only useful for either selling or salvaging, and a single upgrade costs 6000c + the correct materials + first spending money & more materials on upgrading that piece of gear to max level. It's almost like a spreadsheet nightmare. Then take into account you also get crew members (similar to followers in World of Warcraft) that also require upgrading, you'll be lucky if you even find time to enjoy the game. Oh and with the main game they lock all the decent rewards behind a difficult level slightly out of reach of your current gear - each level will have reward tiers such as minor/moderate/excellent. So if you want the better rewards then the level difficulty is higher which just means less opportunities to heal and you get swarmed by enemies. On paper it sounds like a cool idea, but the controls are way too clunky to make these challenges fun. Every ability requires tapping or swiping the screen and moving requires tapping also, which makes zero sense when you're trying to dodge or move fast and the game engine registers it as an ability or the other way around. It's a very chaotic system that is only halfway decent if you have stylus for fingertips or playing on a regular sized iPad. You may want to move to a point then change your mind and move to a different direction - that's two taps right? Wrong, the game just registered it as a double tap and throws you into a grenade throwing animation which locks your character for 2 seconds and you eventually die. Or you decide to use the other method of moving by dragging your finger to the position you want, should be fine right? Wrong again, there's a 50/50 chance the engine registered that as a swipe ability and again you're locked into a shooting animation open to die. The only suggestion I can probably make is using a floating stick for movement or splitting the screen to register movements on one side and ability gestures on the other, but what do I know I'm not a developer. I just know the current system is a headache.
So if you start a game through a new account abroad, can you switch save file over to North American account upon official launch?
I will be honest.. I got really bored in the soft Launch.. But i will give it another shot on Thursday.. Hopefully they add some new stuff to make it interesting
so... Is this milk toast, or is there some compelling reason to download other than the the Star Wars pedigree? I have not been impressed with most of the Star Wars license titles that have been produced on Mobile since the Disney acquisition of the IP... I did like the Star Wars edition of Eliminate Pro back in the day, and of course the excellent port of Star Wars: KOTOR, but Rebels and Star Wars TD and Commander not so much..
