Tiny Death Star is up to 42 MB mobile traffic now. What does it transfer? It doesn't have to download or upload ANYTHING except for special event updates and probably some telemetry data. mnemo
I'm at 78.9mb, barely after installing it for a week. But I've also played this game A LOT this past week which might have something to do with it. The crashes have pretty much disappeared which is nice. It did crash once after the update but so far nothing more. I did lose all my decorations just before the update so that's a small bummer.
In the previous game I started I bought the 3x elevator, and it was difficult to stop to the desiderated floor, especially for Imperial levels where you cannot stop and restart. In the game I'm playing now I think I wont't buy it, I stay with the 2x bonus elevator, at least till I will complete to unlock all scene.
I've run into that problem and just couldn't get the elevator to stop at the correct imperial floor (my lack of coordination is really frustrating!), so I had to use a level mover to put the floor in question at the top position, so I wouldn't miss it when I wanted to unlock the scene associated with that floor.
Any decoration reset for you after the patch? Except for frequent crashes I have to say they fixed many bugs...
Started playing again after the newest update in the hope that changed something about the frequent crashing, but it didn't. Every third or fourth attempt to reassign a Bitizen results in a crash, and sometimes triggering a scene will do the same. I don't know if my iPhone 4S is too slow or if it's iOS 6 or just poor programming, but this is really making the game hard to play. On the plus side, it's been a fun game and I am currently on 119/120 dream jobbers, so I'm almost done.
So has anyone had any success recovering from a full reset? I was up to 70 floors and halfway in bux to the last elevator. Paid for quite a few decorated floors too not to mention the cash I've dropped as thanks to nimblebit.... I can't find any customer service contact anywhere
This is the official support page of Disney Mobile, including FAQs. They *do* answer emails. Tiny Death Star support "SOLUTION This issue is resolved by updating to the latest version of Star Wars: Tiny Death Star. Please note; however, that previously lost game progress cannot be restored." mnemo
Do not waste your time with customer service... this is the reply to my assistance request about game progress loss:
Warning!!! I just updated the app to the newest version on iPhone (1.2.2) and it erased my progress. Over 70 levels and 100 bitizens. I put in a request to iTunes to refund all of my in-app purchases and I'll be deleting this app. I am really upset right now. This is ridiculous!
Wow, that sucks! I just updated and nothing really happened, phew. The new update promises that the unemployment option is back, too. mnemo
I just sent this to [email protected] with a screen grab of the help page that's hidden under the settings page. "I just had my game reset to the tutorial yesterday. Even with today's update my game progress was not restored. If a server side restore or roll back of my account isn't possible can I at least have the money invested credited back. $5 in bux. I was up to 70 levels. 100+ residents. 260bux towards the last elevator and up to 10 decorated levels. There are many people who love your game and it would be unfortunate if the loyal players of the game were not given the support that they want and you would thus lose your strongest supporters. Hope that you can at least give me a human response and not a canned feedback reply out of your customer service employee manual. Thanks for understanding"
So the game IS phoning home. If it's for save games, all the better. The resets still sucked, good programmer would've thought of that. mnemo
I agree... resets are not allowed! Anyway, before to upgrade I used iExplorer to backup my progress. The upgrade was fine for me... keep crossing fingers
Well, it says in most cases. Unfortunately mine was not the case. I'm on wifi and force quit the game and restarted it and I still get the tutorial. I also tried shutting off my phone and turning it back on, but that didn't do anything.
