It seems almost impossible to get a response from the creators of this game about the lack of iPod touch 4th gen support. Is there anyway to find out if or when they might actually address this issue? Once again I feel disappointed to see that clearly updates are being made for this game but still no word on iPod touch 4th gen support. Nimblebit is going down in my estimation as a good company more and more with each passing day that they ignore this problem and as a customer of theirs I'm feeling quite frustrated with it now.
Stocking bonus Since the latest update, I've started receiving 1 bux bonuses for fully stocking floors, just like in Tiny Tower. Never had this happen before the update. It's still pretty rare and I more often get the coin bonus or the instant "buying frenzy", but it's nice to have a couple extra bux flowing in.
You mean Disney NimbleBit did not make and does not support this game. It was developed by Disney (with NimbleBit providing some TT code and advising afaik) and published by LucasArts/Disney.
Aah so that explains the poor customer service. The game is really marketed as if it is a Nimblebit game so that's what confused me. I guess with a developer like Disney who couldn't give one poop about their customers that there is in fact no hope for this game ever getting supported for iPod touch so I shall just leave this thread with my disappointment and be done with it. I love Tiny Tower and have played it for a long time and I'm currently on floor 182 so when I first saw this similar Star Wars themed game before it's release I got quite excited for it and I assumed it would just work on my iPod touch since Tiny Tower does but for some reason it seems "Disney" want to leave us ipod touch users out of the fun so I guess it's their loss really because they're loosing out on quite a few iPod touch users that would like to be able to play this but with the amount of money that company makes I suppose it won't matter. Ah well thank you for the reply.
Im still hoping it will get updated to run on the ipod 4g. Im currently playing it on an ipad2 but it looks too blocky. I played tiny tower to completion (bought every floor possible) on my ipod 4 and the pixal graphics look much better on the small screen. Why on earth does tiny death star need a digital compass is beyond me. The fact that its not compatable with older ipods looks to me that someone at nimblebit/disney screwed up. They have to be losing money with this issue as there are still a hell of a lot of ipod 4g users still out there.
About the only thing to do is something I don't usually approve of, but it's to download it through iTunes or with an approved device so you've purchased it, and then give it a 1 star review. Now, it may very well have problems with the 4G touch, but it sure as heck doesn't with the 5G touch (because the store screwed up and let a bunch of 5G touch owners download it when it was first released so I was able to play it for a few days before iTunes removed when syncing), and, given the simplicity of the game, unless their memory management is crap, it *should* run on the 4G touch as well. Regardless, all touch users are currently prevented from playing such a simple game. The only reason devs take this shortcut is to stop 4G touch users from downloading it and having a crappy experience and giving them a bad review because they didn't read the "...recommended 5G touch, 4G touch users will have problems..." part of the description. Well, so long as this works, they're going to keep on doing it since Apple isn't interested in policing practices that arguably help them sell more hardware, so make it backfire.
The most frustating part IMO is the "You've done all the quests!" message you get before building all the imperial levels. In order to get new bitzens you need new imperial levels (at least is what happens here), but the motivation to spend 500k+ just to get a chance to find new bitzens is lacking here. On the other hand, due to the game I re-watched all the movies, bought a couple of SW books and even am considering playing KOOR again; what I mean is that the game generated awareness for me. I imagine if it wasn't so money-orientated, I mean, the marketing strategy for these kind of support media should be a "supporting media". There is no need to make maney on its own. You know, keep the customer playing and thinking SW and the money will come.
Imperial Levels: Imperial Meeting - Battle Plans - 45m Forcefiled Gen - Force Field - Actually I am assembling them here, but I think it is 2h and 30 min Droid Lab - Battle Droids - assembling them as well, but I think it is 4h and 30 min
I agree there are too few imperial missions, they could just repeat after a while with increasing requirements I guess but dev thought otherwise probably. As for the new Bitizens, I seem to unlock some every Sunday and Monday mostly, and I have not built any Imperial levels recently (13 so far, no more needed at the moment). So maybe they unlock by 3-4 a week, I don't know, just an idea. Could be that Imp.lvls increase the rate at which you unlock them, since I was unlocking them more often when I started playing. But it could just be tied to your total number of floors. Maybe I'll build a new Imperial level to see if that changes anything. Thanks for your view, I have been wondering what makes Bitizens and the like unlock myself. Nice to read I'm not the only one.
I really hope they update the game with more levels soon, I have built all the available ones by now, so there's not much to do other than stocking up on money for when they do release more levels.
Anyone else getting really bad lag in the game after the last update? It comes and goes or vaies in laggyness.
You could be in my boat - I just nearly went insane getting good DJs (lowest is L7) on all of my current levels as well as assuring I'll have L8+ for the levels I've yet to get. But hey, one less thing. I do like the fact that I can ignore Supply Officers and Recruiters completely now, though.
I'm on Android as well & have slowed down on this game since I noticed this issue. Currently on 29 levels (11 residential) and still never seen a retail with skill 9... Haven't been able to hit the 30 residents mission either.
I'm sure it's been asked, but does anyone know offhand where the tower save file is on Android? I'd like to transfer this game from my soon-to-be-defunct phone to my tablet. Well, I found the folder on my TABLET, which doesn't help me, as the corresponding folder doesn't seem to friggin' exist on my phone. I also tried sending the .apk from my phone to my tablet via ES File Explorer, but it doesn't move the data with it. Data/User/0/com.lucasarts.tinydeathstar_goo/ is the folder I found on my tablet. ...and the reason I found it on my tablet is you need to have root access to see said folder. Now it's just a matter of finding which files need to be transferred from said folder into a new installation without simply corrupting/crashing the program. For those who've done it on an iPhone, any hints would be appreciated.
I have level 9 dream jobs people for all the floors as well now, except one floor where they're level 8... Which is good enough, it takes so long to get level 9 dj people for one specific level. I hope they will update this game often, a game like this kind of requires there to be more floors to build.
I have all floors built and 119/120 level 9 dream jobbers (really I don't care about the final guy) and almost 21 million coins ready for new floors and that's where I will stop. Finally lol. There is an interesting issue with possible new floors. TT had 5 different floor types + residential. A floor update could include one of each and 3 residential floors to house the 15 new bitizens required for full employment. TDS has only 4 floor types (that can have employees). In order to have full employment and fully occupied residences we would need to have an extra 5 of each floor type (20 altogether) and 12 residential. That's not counting possible new imperial floors. That's a lot of new artwork. I wonder how the devs will manage this.
Maybe something to add to your list: the bonus you get for fully stocking a floor is the total number of items (#'1-coin items' + #'2-coin items + #'3-coin items') present at the moment of fully stocking it divided by 20, rounded down to lowest integer. So for 35 1-coin, 74 2-coin and 600 3-coin items this would give you a bonus of 709/20 -> 35 coins. Maybe you already figured this out, just thought I'd mention it.
