BTW, can someone tell me what the "level mover" is for? What advantage could it have to move a level? Thanks, mnemo
The level mover is a VIP that moves a level for free. Otherwise, moving a level costs a Bux. I like to put all of my residential levels on the bottom, so the level mover allows me to move one of the residential floors down for free.
The 499 bux elevator in TT was really really fast. I could imaging wiping people off the floor, splattered by the g forces lol. The 499 elevator in TDS is not as fast (subjectively it feels about half as fast to me) although similarly rated at 42ppm. I think the final elevator also has a limited life span too. By the time you get it, your tower is tall enough that you are mostly ordering stock and letting the coins roll in. I'm not sure why I bothered. At least there's not much else to spend bux upon now. As usual getting the final few level 9 bitizens is almost impossible. You don't generate extra bux cycling new residents (ie buy resident 1bux, put him in dream job 1 bux and then evict). Then again there is not much use for the extra bux.
I wouldn't say that, yes, it is partially cosmetic, but some sort of organization becomes necessary for purposes of hunting down bitizens as the "deathstar" grows taller. At 50+ floors, you've either got one heck of a memory, or you've developed a system for keeping things organized.
Hire a VIP cost is variable. Just noticed the cost to hire a VIP fluctuates. So far I have seen it as low as 2 bux and as high as 4 bux. Not sure if there is any rhyme or reason to the fluctuationÂ…I think its just random.
With all due respect, from all I've read, this was a collaboration. On the app's description page it says: "From Disney Mobile, in partnership with LucasArts and Nimblebit, the makers of Tiny Tower..." My "Game Impressions" post was written with the full knowledge that NB signed off on this project & was willing to put its name on it & its reputation on the line. Since I feel the game is a ham-handed attempt to empty the player's wallet first & a game second, I wrote with the sincere hope that some changes would be made in the game for NB's sake since, unlike so many of its games, TDS does not do it proud. The worst thing, IMO, is that the balanced freemium/IAP model, so well-designed/implemented by NB in the past, so highly touted by reviewers & players alike, is set on its ear with this game. More's the pity...
I feel like constantly having to manage bux in this game makes it far less fun. It takes a long time to get rolling and there just isn't any real payoff. The art is fantastic, but constantly needing more bux ruins it for me
I always use uniforms to help me find bitizens, though I do organize by shop type and residences as well (stores are always near the bottom; that's how it works in real high rises!). It was easier to make the uniforms make sense in Tiny Tower (like, people dressed as dinosaurs working in the toy store), but now I just have to remember who I put where.
Okay, I have another "is it just me?" question - I'm noticing an imbalance in the skill levels of bitizens. It is almost impossible for me to find a level 9 retail Bitizen. In fact, I've only gotten one the whole time I've been playing (if I get a level 9 on anything, I'll save them). Over the past day, I've made an effort to focus on trying to get a level 9 bitizen, I've upped my residential floors and made sure there was always one free spot on all of my residential floors in order to get as many bitizens moving in as possible. No luck. Has anyone noticed this with retail or another floor type? It's so pronounced, that I'm beginning to think I either have some bad luck or that there's some sort of bug. As a reference all my other floors are entirely staffed by level 9 bitizens or level 9 + dream job bitizens.
I'm having the same issues. Many GC achievements I should have received have not registered. I'm stuck on the move-in 30 bitizens mission as well - I think he wants you to build 6 new residential floors, as I've evicted and moved in well in excess of 30 bitizens since that mission showed up...
Hello everyone I'm trying to find details on the purpose/use of the "assignment's inventory". I currently have 67 Rebel Secrets and I started getting Defense Grids. Do these have any value? can they be sold or traded? Is there some magical number you need to get? Thanks.
Don't you mean they are "earned" on the level right below the lobby? I've got all these Imperial rebel secrets (67) and they don't seem to be for anything. The missions is pretty useless IMO you get a whopping couple hundred coins for completing a mission and half the time they get stuck... right now I have "Upgrade levels 1 time and feel the power surge within!" all my levels are at rank 2 and the "mission" hasn't cleared.
I have 3 level 9 retail citizens thus far for my 6 retail jobs. (14 levels, 4 apartments) I haven't been too harsh with evictions yet.
It's not random, it's based on how many VIPs you currently have stored. Each VIP adds another bux to the cost, as below: 0 VIPs stored in lobby = 2 bux to hire a random VIP 1 VIP stored in lobby = 3 bux 2 VIPs stored in lobby = 4 bux, etc So, if you want the cheapest random VIPs, burn the ones you have stored.
Wow. That seems dumb if they aren't for anything. Here I thought I was going to get something after getting 10 rebel secrets, but nada. Why bother using bitzens to quicken the wait time for each Imperial Secret if they aren't going to gain us anything?! Just use up the VIP so they aren't taking up space in my lobby I guess.
There are two sets of missions in the game. Ones you get from be emperor, and ones you get from the level directly below the lobby, which all involve the items generated by your imperial levels below that. Did you upgrade any since the mission appeared or were they already level 2? It seems the entire scope of each mission must be completed after the mission is assigned.
BUYER BEWARE! Major Alert!!! This game contains a game ruining bug. The game will randomly reset itself without the player hitting the reset button or even being in game at the time. After playing for ~5 days this happened to me. I woke up, started the game, and was at the introductory tutorial. All my hard work and effort lost. Period. A quick web search revealed this bug is known to the developer and has occurred often both on the iOS and android versions of the game. Nimblebit offers no support other then to say they are aware of the bug and it can be fixed by updating the game. Your progress is still lost though. Money you spent in the game is still lost though. There is nothing nimblebit is willing to do to compensate their players for the loss of time, progress, and money spent. Basically, their he is bugged and if the bug erases your game save you are screwed and nimblebit neither cares not is willing to offer any support. After such successes as tiny tower, pocket planes, and pocket trains it is not only disappointing bug outright insulting that nimblebit would treat their customers in such a vulgar, unprofessional, and disrespectful manner. I am entirely surprised and completely disappointed. In the end I am not suggesting nimblebit intentionally ignored a game breaking bug to milk time and money out of their fans and offer no recourse. That would be a silly conspiracy theory. What IS true is that the game does behave in this manner, nimblebit is fully aware, nimblebit offers no support and no compensation and says, just re update the game even if there is no update to make and deal with the loss.... Cause we have no intention of doing anything to aid the customers who lost time and money. After all why should they? It's not like they are losing anything by treating their customers in such an unprofessional manner, right?
