That second Jar Jar scene you mention occurs when you take a toydarian to the business in question, not Jar Jar.
I did not play tiny tower, but wanted to, so this is great with the Star Wars theme. I have two issues and did not know if anyone else was experiencing the same. 1. Game Center achievements are not all registering. For example, the 10 level achievement. I have 20+ levels, but it does not show I have the 10 level achievement. No a big issue, just wondering if other's are experiencing the same. 2. Emperor tasks. The current task is to have 30 bitizens move in, which I have, but it is not giving me the reward for it. Perhaps it is 30 more bitizens in addition to the 25 I had? Anyone know?
I kindly disagree. I delivered a [?] Gungan and [?] Toydarian, and the scene took place. Might be a bug.
Have to admit, I never tried Tiny Towers so I don't know how this compares to it, but I just had to try this one since it combines Star Wars and pixels. It's cute, I like it so far. Love the little Star Wars tunes.
Game Impressions Haven't noticed that myself but haven't been playing very long. OTOH, as a real fan of Tiny Tower, I've been dismayed at the differences between the two games (aside from skin). Difficulty in getting bux: Almost nothing except building floors, locating tenants & catching spies gets bux. Unlike in TT, fully stocking some stores just gets one a "buying spree" from time to time, not bux. Oh, yeah, & one can always BUY bux. Elevator(s): By the 5th floor I noticed how terribly slow the initial elevator is. I got enough bux to build the second one & soon discovered this was hardly faster than the 1st elevator. Unlike TT which had 3 levels of upgrade, TDS has 4 levels. Hate to find out how long it would take to buy the last elevator! Missions: Here's a difference I'd take very seriously if I were NB. In TT, one could do a Mission when one wanted with no penalty. In TDS, the reward is a paltry sum of coins but skipping the Mission costs BUX! Either one pays up to skip or that feature is of zero use. To those used to NB's ways in previous games, paying NOT to do something feels like extortion; it seems so contrary to the ways their previous games were monetized. Doubt NB designed this feature. Pricing/IAPs: In one word: insane. C'mon, to have the 2nd item in the Imperial Bux Store read $99.99! It doesn't take a non-hard core gamer like me to realize that, if anything, I would have put this tidbit of info last. As almost the first thing I saw, my jaw dropped & I wondered exactly who their target audience was. Who wants to spend $100 on consumables? Anyway, why not cater to the casual user first by reversing the price list, hoping they'll eventually drop enough real bucks to equal that & more? Also in realm of pricing, buying levels in bux (from the menu screen, not main screen) is insanely expensive as is collecting Star Wars figures for an album (if one chose to buy rather than find). Instructions: First I must say that this is preferable to the way TT was done. In that game I had to discover in bits & snatches how the game was played. That said, I still don't understand the purpose of the Imperial Levels. Seems like essential waste of time. I checked out the Disney site but found no instructions there. Miscellaneous: Unlike TT, there are no stats & no sharing. After a while & a few games, the FB like feature (in TDS, Holonet) gets old. Again, under miscellaneous, no backup. Now that's crazy! Consumables are never refundable so there should be a way to regain what was not used via backup. Now, lest one say, why post only to criticize or why bother playing at all, I'll mention the things I like & add that I'll stop playing when the game becomes pointlessly slow. Dangerously soon, I fear. Animation: It's spectacular! Worth checking out if only to see a few floors. Novelty: Great blend of SW characters & TT gameplay (as leisurely as one wants without penalty). Loyalty: Have always liked NB games before & TT was my 2nd favorite. In closing, to quote Lloyd Bentson: "Disney, I liked NimbleBit. I knew NimbleBit. NimbleBit was like a friend of mine. Disney, you're no NimbleBit."
That's exactly what happened to me. Someone mentioned going over a dozen imperial floors before they got Communications. I guess I could skip that mission, but really, the Imperial levels just seem a waste at this point. I'm with you...I'll stick to normal levels for now. It worked for me. But, I wasn't really paying attention to exactly what I had just done. So, I'm not sure if it was all the items on a single level or the 1-coin goods on all levels.
Yup, had that, too. Game Center didn't even start up on the first few plays. Eh, wait, what? According to Game Center I *have* the "50 levels" achievement for 50 points. LOL! Except that I'm at 20 levels now. They messed that up big time, I guess. mnemo
Characters > Scenes : Unlock List Spoiler Princess Leia > Interrogation Jar Jar Binks > Mos Espa Cafe IG88 > Holochess Hall Jar Jar Binks > Watto's Wares Luke (in A New Hope suit) > Detention Level C'mon guys post if you have any more to add to the list!
Holy cow! I finally got the Ultra-Lift 3000 Extreme (3rd Elevator). Turns out, the Infini-lift Lightspeed costs 499 Bux!!! WFT?!?!?
The entire elevator system in this game is a Huge money sink and the first 3 upgrades are SO paltry 8 > 12 > 16.... So much bux for so little of an upgrade, and than finally the last one is 42! I can understand why the difference is from 125 to 499 since you are going from 16 to 42 however I just wish the previous 3 elevators felt like real upgrades rather than the "oh, these all suck, but you need them to get to the only good one"
Also, it seems like we can't go back to the previous elevators. Once we upgrade, we're stuck. Imagine dropping off characters in the Imperial floors with the Infini-lift Lightspeed, the characters will get out where the elevator stops!
That's how it was in Tiny Tower. In fact, the eve later pricing and power are all the same as in TT. It took me a good couple of months to get the highest one in TT, and with an even rougher Bux system, I could estimate it taking 5 months to get this one. The reason it costs so much in Tiny Tower was because it came in an update and some people had nothing ele to work toward. However, the price should be cheaper. Of course, you could just spend $32.
Yeah I've been trying to guess some scenes by linking characters to their famous 'scenes' in the various levels but it's tricky!
