You get 5 (maybe 6?) slots to save in. You can check how many and what you have left by selecting the arrival room.
Another tip : when you build a new floor, you may know immediately which one you'll get by tapping on the floors list in the menu.
I'm having an issue with upgrading - in that it seems to do nothing. I'm just starting out and have a couple of floors that will only hold 10 - 12 of the lowest item, stocking them in less than a minute, and only a couple hundred of the top item. As someone who likes to stock my floors, go off do something and then come back, that is just not enough inventory! I had a floor go from being completely stocked to being completely empty in the space of time it took me to shower. So...I plopped down the 4 bux on an upgrade, even though (as it's been stated before) bux are darn hard to come by. There's no discernible difference. I maybe have one or two more items on the bottom floor, and maybe 100 or so more on the top floor. I'm feeling really cheated at the moment. Is anyone else noticing/having this problem with upgrades?
Eh, installed on mine as well and definitely nothing special (US App store, stock 7.03, 64GB touch 5G). Don't know why some are able and some aren't, but didn't even know there was a kerfuffle about touch support until I looked at this thread.
I've sunk a couple of years of my life into Tiny Tower - one of my favorite games on the iphone. I don't mind that TDS is on its surface a re-skin of TT. I do think the bux system is stingy, esp the fact that placing a bitizen in his dream job nets you only 1 bux. However, I like the imperial floors being sublevel, and I like that stocking those floors is a mini-mission in itself. Until reading this board, I hadn't noticed the time reduction when delivering bitizens to floors awaiting shipment, but I like that and it makes me inclined to play the elevators a bit longer instead of opening the game, stocking some floors and closing out again. One question: What is with the bitizens who get on the elevator with a ? above their heads? Until you touch them, you don't know where they want to go. However, I haven't noticed any benefit from at least guessing correctly on "up" or "down" before their desired floor is revealed. Just curious.
Cool new twist on Tiny Tower. Love the funny dialogue between the Emperor and Vader. The unlockable scenes are a nice addition too, and I'm always a sucker for that cantina song
Adding on - I wish there was a way to zoom out (as in Tiny Tower) and see a wide view of your construction progress on the Death Star.
I've gotten a mission called 'I Spy', which says 'Curse these Rebel Spies! Bring me 1 of them!'. How do I do this? I thought it might be a find a person job that occasionally pops up, but that didn't complete it.
It's similar to the bitizen-search missions in Tiny Tower. You just find the spy on whatever floor and get 1 bux reward. The Emperor's purple box (top left) will start buzzing, and you get the additional reward from him.
Also, each time you go to upgrade it costs an additional bux. So you can upgrade for 3, and then the next one is 4, and the next is 5, and the next is 6. I'm spending all my bux on upgrades just so that I can walk away for 5 minutes. I only have 3 commercial floors and so I need them up and running so I have the coins to buy more. I'm extremely frustrated.
I have noticed this too... I have some stores (not upgraded) that hold a few hundred or low thousand inventory in stock. Not sure what controls this - is it locked to the particular store? does default inventory increase as the # of floors goes up? or is it totally random. I'm about 35 floors into the game. Also a tip for you - putting a bitizen into their dream job will apply a x2 multiplier to your stock. That helps a little too.
This is an awesome game! I love tiny tower and Star Wars so this is a perfect mix! Im pretty sure it's realeased world wide now for all of you who have been waiting for this game to be released in the AppStore your set up in! I have the candandian AppStore and I can get it! And according to toucharcades earlier posts about tiny Death Star it's been released in Australia and New Zealand! So it's in those appstores for sure and I think maybe even worldwide... I'm not sure but this is an amazing game!
I think it might be something to do with triggering cutscenes, although I'm not 100% sure yet. I took a question-marked Leia to Interrogation, and... It only seems to be certain character types that get question marks. Can anyone else confirm this?
I'm having problems with spies, too. I don't seem to be able to capture spies this way. I got asked to look for Lando -- or at least, a character that looked like Lando -- but he was nowhere to be seen. When I tried tapping on each floor it just opened the regular floor screen, unlike the other find-a-character events when you're told if you've tapped in the wrong place. What am I missing?
The spy SHOULD be somewhere. If you're tapping on every single floor and he's not coming up at all, there may be something wrong. I just had a spy-search mission for Lando, and when I found him, he was added to my Album of characters. Edit: Also, remember that sometimes bitizens wander off-screen (to the right), presumably further within the floor. If you wait a minute, they'll drift back into view.
I wish it were that simple. I've done the blue icon 'find the rebel' pop ups many times and the emperor hasn't completed the mission. I think it's just bugged and I may need to skip it. I was hoping it was something else that I was missing.
I believe there's a difference between "finding a spy" and "finding a rebel." Finding a spy is any character, while finding rebel is a Star Wars character.
I think it's a question mark because we're not sure if they'll go in the upper levels or lower levels.
The characters with a question mark can be moved to one of the basement levels to descrease build time by one minute. One more thing: have you checked what it costs to unlock characters in the album/bitizens? On of the characters in "Men of the rebellion" costs 213 bux! Does anybody know if the rare characters do anything in the game? It must be a reason why they are so expensive? There is a "sale" now where you can buy 35 bux, 4000 credits and General Lando for a price. What does General Lando contribute to the game, apart from getting another character walking around in the tower? My theory is that you once and again will be asked to find him, which will give more bux than finding a regular character, but I really don't know.
Any of the characters can be taken to a basement level to reduce build time. I'm pretty much convinced that the question marks indicate characters that trigger cutscenes now.
