They didn't say NO so I suppose there's always hope. I agree that it would be tough to read the text, even if it were optimized, but most of the game is so cinematic you'd be doing most of the tasks with headphones on anyway. It's not significantly more complex than something like Pocket Legends or Order & Chaos Online, I think it could be done. I think their answer to the question more or less says "we'll see how the iPad version sells first, mmmkay?" Alternatively, you could always pin your hopes on the notion that Apple will eventually release an iPad Pocket that could run the game in a miniature size. http://support.aspyr.com/entries/21650559-KOTOR-for-the-iPad-FAQ
Indeed it is (and isn't given I paid full price for it many years ago) and in the end I succumbed and bought it last night after clearing the space to download it.
Downloaded with this sale. Never played the game. 2 questions so far: How do I dismantle mines? And when in battle how do I know wich actions to choose? Liking the game so far (just entered the sewers to safe the wookie) normally I am not to fond on rpg's.
Build up your stats for explosives and you will see options for dismantle mines. I usually pick them up. Battle... Use the force... You just need to get use to it an see what works the best. Allot times normal attacks work great.
As a left handed person, having the numbers appearing on the right side of the screen is REALLY annoying. Is there really no way to change it to the other side of the screen?
I just finished a light side playthrough. Can't believe it took 28 hours! The most I've ever spent on an ipad app (although to be fair it was a port of one of the best RPG games ever made). If I uninstall this game to make way for other apps, do I lose all my saves?
Damn! 30 hours in on my first play through (hazy amoral area) and I'm still on Tatooine! That said, I've not played in a few weeks - other priorities - but still have a way to go. For comparison, Mass Effect took 57 hours. I'm hovering around the 30 hour mark in FFIII and FFIV (at the end in the former, 3/4 of the way through in the latter). £6.99 is a standard price for my iOS games (Avadon, Carcassonne, FFIII & FFIV on sale, KoDP, KOTOR, etc). Then I tend to prefer board, strategy and Western RPGs.
Sorry, should have mentioned that it's my second time playing through the game. The first time I played it was almost a decade ago when it first came out.
I cannot wait to start playing this on my mini! Just finishing up final fantasy tactics then on to KOTOR! Gaming on iOS rocks!
Loving this just like I did when it first came out 10 years ago. Are there any other games similar to this in the App Store for iPad 3 ?? that anyone would recommend Thanks
Proposal: For epic RPG of this scale, I would say the upcoming Shadow Run Returns. SQEX ports of Final Fantasy series give similar game time. Projection: if this one does well many hopes Asypr would port other Bioware classics as well, also Planescape would be great as well...
Next year is the 10th anniversary of the original Star Wars Battlefront, and Aspyr ported that as well...it's only logical
Well, I finally finished my other ongoing games, and jumped in to Kotor. I have to say, that I feel bad that I bought this game for half price during the sale. This is one of those few games that I would happily play the full price anytime. I read about the movement control issue, but it's working perfectly for me. My only problem is that I like to discover every part of the map, and when I'm going into a corner my other party members close on me, and I can't come out without changing members. But otherwise, this game is PERFECT. I'm dreaming of other Bioware RPGs ported over to iPad... How about porting Kotor 2 WITH the uncut content restoration project integrated? It would be a blast. And a quick question for those who've played the other Kotor editions. I've read that the romance with Spoiler Juhani is very bugged. Does this changed for the iPad edition, or every bug is still present?
The price kinda sucks considering its the same as the pc version on steam. Yes, it's the same game. But look at XCOM. It cheaper that the other versions
Ok, I'm kinda stuck right now, Spoiler Im in the sith base and I just ran into the sith leader (or governor) and I only have on party member with full helth, and Bastille (I can't remember how to spell her name) can't get a single hit on hi. I can't go back because the drone guarding the elevator will kill me. Any help would be welcome.
