Regarding activity, I agree! Although listening to the conversation since I went to bed, I've got a LOT of work to do in order to hang with you guys... The full tour? Gulp.

I'm in Eastern Standard US time...

    Oh my...

 I have no idea how to p-mail someone...
That makes me an extreme noob on forums.:(
    How do you?

BTW my rank is not 12 it is 9...:( (But that doesn't mean good weapons and all, I didn't bother playing bosses when I didn't need) so when I get in one of your games don't quit on me.:D

Darthguy, the easiest way to PM someone (if they're from this thread) is to click on their name once: a dropdown menu will appear, and one of the options is to "send private message". Alternatively, you can do it by accessing your private messages (somewhere on the top right of this window) and look for "send new message" from the menu on the left on the private messages page.

...or, if you really don't like scrambling around to send new messages, bookmark this link: http://forums.toucharcade.com/private.php?do=newpm

DBC, just practise a bit, and start memorising the alien spawn patterns if you end up picking a favourite spot of the map to hang around: the alien types always spawn in the same order, though the mutated super versions of enemies just occur randomly. Just memorise what direction the problematic aliens are probably going to approach you from (e.g. the flying bugs, or the leaping green things), and you'll find surviving much easier if you can pre-empt their direction.

Asdeasde97, the 150 Mithril Freedom bag (the one that gives you unlimited ammo) really isn't worth it, unless you want to go into Co-op matches and continuously spray the M-27B1 or Crab to kill all the enemies before your teammates do. Overall, though, it's not a profitable investment at all -- gold-enhancing equipment is considerably better for increasing the amount of gold you receive in the long run.

Also...how many people here use headphones or earphones? Trust me, they're REALLY helpful, because surround sound tells you when you've got aliens blindsiding you, and which direction they're coming from.

    ------------

Edit: Also, I pretty much won't quit on anyone during the enemy rush. What I WILL quit on is if I'm stuck with all my other teammates running around doing nothing/swinging swords in the boss fight, unless I already know in advance who you are/what your situation is.

Undead, first off I'm an idiot, second, thanks, and third I won't use a sword. I got plenty of energy and loads of money to buy energy with.:D

But my M-2781 isn't fully ugraded, I am 2 upgrades below it.:(

Oh, you've still got some fun to be had then :p

I just about have all the good pieces of equipment upgraded to level 8, so I'm wandering aimlessly/stocking up for new content in subsequent updates... though I might consider making some random mithril/gold purchases if they catch my fancy, and I'm getting too rich for my own good... >.>

    --------------------------------------------------------

Something which just occurred to me:

If you're unsure of someone's timezone (or rather, what the time difference is between you and a specific player), include in your PM what time you SENT the message at. As long as the recipient has configured their forum settings to show the time as it is in their own time zone, they'll be able to calculate the time difference and respond how big a gap there is.

Just thought I'd suggest that, because while I could easily say that I'm GMT+10, that probably doesn't tell you exactly how many hours ahead of/behind you guys I am at a glance; a more accurate way of saying it is that I'm 16 hours ahead of Central American Time, though you could also think of it as 8 hours behind and still get the same time, ignoring the day of the week.

It's at times like those that I wish we could turn friendly-fire on if our teammates were using swords >.>

Capricornman, I feel your pain -- I need to be up at about 2-4am to catch most of the guys around here online, need to reset my body clock.

On that note...goodnight guys, and enjoy your boss runs :p

I wonder what the guy I was just playing with was thinking when I pulled out my pathetic sword and ran around with him and Mantis for a bit... well, before he died.:eek::p;)

Don't get me wrong. I was a new player like 15 minutes ago.

If I see a player with a similar or lower rank than me at least trying, I'll try to take the boss down myself, because I want others to enjoy themselves and get better. But a guy my rank or higher? With a sword? Yeah, that's not going to work for me.;)

I'm in! And I'll be bringing a very powerful, newly upgraded surprise...;)

I wanted to tell you and Felder that when we were in the Poison Pit, I wasn't running away from you guys, I was trying to get you to camp with me up on one of the platforms.

It's a good spot, and I'll be headed there tonight, so if I seem to have disappeared, that's where I am!:D

OK guys, I'm getting to the point where I've got to make some more advanced decisions...

Is camping from the beginning of a boss level to the very end where the boss lies dead at your feet a good strategy monetarily?

IOW, should I even worry about the little "Dollar Sign" pick-ups, as opposed to staying put?

If I blast away with the chaingun throughout the whole level, that's still a decent payoff compared to using a sword through the beginning and picking up everything, right?

I'm asking because I'm on the verge of being brave enough to move on to the Poison Pit and beyond, and I'm trying to decide if I'm ready, but being ready means camping vs. running around with a toy sword.:rolleyes:;)

I think camping during the boss rush is good if you have a good spot. You can pick up the money when the enemies are far away if you want. On higher levels it's best to camp with your chaingun. If you think you can survive the wave taking little hp then use the sword. If you can't, camp

    Thanks for the feedback.

With the sword I have now? Not bloody likely.:D

When I finally get a Windblade? That my friend, will be a different matter entirely.;)

Anyone up for a PP or Siegfried camping trip?
