I would also like to point out that most players when fighting siegfried will hug the wall. And in that arena area, their at least two little nooks that you can get stuck in...which can really make you vulnerable to his attacks if you don't quickly move out of the crack. Also as undead said, the fire balls he shoots both on the ground and in the air will explode and cause splash damage, so for when hes on the ground, he will shoot 5 or so fireballs in a horizontal pattern and when they hit the wall they can still do damage too you. Thats what I see a majority of the players I play with die from. So watch out for that. I posted this awhile back, but their is a wikia about this game giving you a lot of good information, anywhere from how much damage weapons do fully upgraded to boss attack moves and gold earned from killing them.
@liuyuweiseo: I'd love to answer your question, but could you clarify what you mean? I'm a little unsure what you're referring to. If you meant some of the players seemingly moonwalking backwards and walking in spot, it's because the player has their thumb on the control stick -- the walking animation's always been a little bit off in this game, but I'd say it's a small price to pay if it causes the game to lag less. Good point Asasnator, should probably re-post that wiki page periodically for new players joining this thread. The wiki page in question: http://starwarfare.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Warfare_Wiki ----- An additional wiki page I found, but in Japanese. Most players won't understand the majority of the text, but they've put all the figures into tables, making it very easy to draw comparisons between equipment and armour. http://www34.atwiki.jp/starwarfareapp/pages/16.html
I'm glad you posted this, as it's something I've been feeling but didn't want to seem negative. For Co-op MP, it somehow doesn't always feel very cooperative, and I agree with your points. If anyone in the forum wants to play, I'm interested! As to the congrats, thank you, but I'm going to need a more powerful gun. The first time I beat Mantis, the other player admittedly did most of the damage, and I think I got in a lucky shot at the end... The second time, everyone else died, so I know that was me. That said, I must have run around for 10 minutes and put 1000 rounds into that beast... DBC
That is...quite a bit of patience, if you put up with that boss for 10 straight minutes o___O How are your finances and EXP looking right now? I can try taking you on a run with Poison Pit if you wanna test out your evasion skills
Finances? Best answered by you seeing me in Co-op MP. Let's just say I've made some changes... and I'm a bit financially challenged at present. EXP? Those changes I mentioned? I hit Level 6, and did a little shopping. I'm into a Poison Pit run, and I've also got to attempt to actually kill the Mantis to get my reward! DBC
Alright, gonna set up a room. Changing my gear slightly this time (prioritising killing speed over profitability). Edit: By changed gear, I mean I'm going full Thunder Suit with STK bag Edit 2: Nice suit, DBC
I hung in there for quite a while, but my gun wouldn't dent him... lol BTW, I'm fully aware that I was camped behind you during the pre-boss rush. I didn't think I would survive, and wanted to try to catch a glimpse of Siegfried... DBC
That hill is a VERY popular camping spot. Standing further back is a good way of increasing your longevity, because it's harder for enemies to hit you (especially with their projectile attacks). I prefer standing further forward because...well,as you can probably tell, I'm itching to mow down everything I can >.> Edit: That's some fancy sword-fighting you've got there
I felt bad when that guy died. I'm all for picking up the scraps, especially when I know the other players are as worried about them, but you have to be careful... Let me know if you want to try Siegfried again. I've got to get a bigger gun, and I'm getting close... Otherwise, thanks again for offering to let me play with you! DBC
Alright, let's roll I'm going to switch back to my gold-farming equipment. Siegfried won't die as quickly, but I'll stay alive for much longer, even if I'm as careless as that last time... >.> Just prioritise staying alive over doing damage if you're forced to make a choice ---- Edit: dammit, almost! Again! Edit2: Grr, lagged out =.=" Very close though, again? Edit3: High five! Third time lucky xD
YEEEEEEESSS! Take that, Sigfried! When the connection dropped with Siegfried at about 5% health, I actually audibly said, "Really? Are you kidding me right now?" Guess who's buying a new gun?! Edit: Guess who bought a new gun?! Next up, gloves, Windblade, and unstoppavincibility! DBC
Have fun with your new toys Also, prepare to use your Thunder suit's ability quite liberally on the bosses: I wasn't paying too much attention during the boss fights, but I don't think I noticed you using the extra speed and power from your suit's ability. It's quite handy for saving some ammo and finishing them off quicker. Congrats again on your new rank and equipment! All that's really left to do from here is to practise a bit and gain some experience in keeping yourself alive if the other teammates have already died/aren't covering your back. Do call on us from the thread sometime though, I like playing with familiar faces
Most definitely! OK, embarrassing question time... Do I need to do something to use the abilities? Yeah, I'll be doing some practicing later today... Lots of practicing. I've said it before, I'll say it again, and it might actually mean something now that I can contribute more than interpretive dance to the game... If anyone reading this wants to play, shoot me a PM! Thanks again for your help. I owe you! DBC
Edit: Oops, you're missing the Thunder gloves, it seems. That'll explain why you can't use the Thunder Armour's ability yet =.=" Just wait till you can get the gloves, you're gonna love your suit even more... -------- Hmm, I should probably clarify this first: each set of armour will have special bonuses that you'll only receive if you equip the full armour set. The Thunder Armour is one of two sets of armour that has a temporary, rechargeable "ability" as one of its bonuses (for the record, the other armour with an ability bonus is the Andromedae set). If you have the full Thunder set equipped, there should be a new button on the right side of your screen. To activate your ability, tap that button: in the Thunder Armour's case, you will be surrounded by a golden glow and you'll suddenly move a LOT faster. During this time, your attack power is also boosted by 50%. This effect only lasts 10 seconds, and then you'll have to wait 30 seconds for the ability to recharge (you don't suffer any speed or power penalties while the armour's recharging). Once you're done recharging though, you can let loose the speed and power boost again o____O If you're confident with your aim, then this is how to do wreak some SERIOUS havoc with the Thunder Armour: user a hyper clip first (100% of base power added to your firepower for 30 seconds), and then activate your Thunder suit's ability (adds yet another 50% base power). Let's just say...you DON'T want to be on the receiving end of that combination.
M-2781 If you have a sword and slash it unil an enemy comes out and swItch to the M-2781 there won't be a pause. Just keep on slashing...
I find that pause useful, actually, based on something Asasnator said earlier in this thread: use the pause to align your aim more precisely onto the enemy, so you waste less bullets by spraying randomly. That being said, I'm finding my new iPad's surface quite...slippery. I've got a hardware handicap! x_____x
Bosses Is it just me or is Serpent easier than Double Rages? I hate 2 bosses at once. But the serpent was easy, I had people with atom armor and assault rifles but beat him losing less health from the boss then from the aliens.
Darthguy, you use the Blademaster on Serpent, right? That might be a big part of the reason that you're finding Serpent quite easy, because getting slowed down by the poison hurts A LOT (it's quite possible that you'll get hit by a charge, and then also a subsequent tail slam). I'll have difficulty doing a solo run on BOTH bosses right now, because I've got a speed of 5 when I'm using the M-27B1. That being said, I think Double Rages is more problematic, because it seems quite hard to evade the purple mantis's homing blades (while it's still on the perch) while maintaining full automatic fire. Serpent, on the other hand, is still easy enough to dodge if you're at the other end of the map, but if you step in poison...it's not going to be pretty.
