Float I don't have the BACKpack, I was just debating whether I should get it or not... I think I'll stick with blade-master (I just love the poison dodging, makes bosses so easy.) I'm gonna save up for the laser cannon... (I said it was horrible because of the cooldown time but then I realized you could just switch to a different weapon ) How long do you think it takes to earn 200 mithril? (I have the whole summer but just wondering.
With the video bonuses gone, let's see... The log-in bonus essentially averages one mithril a day (2 mithril on 4th day, 3 mithril on 5th day). The amount of mithril bosses can drop are as follows: Mantis: 1-2 Poison Pit: 1-3 Everything else: 2-4 If you got every boss to drop mithril at least once, you're looking at anywhere between 8 to 17 mithril a day. With enough patience, you can get most bosses to drop at least twice a day, so that would extend the range to 16-34 (though I think you need to be hellishly lucky to earn 34 mithril in a day). If we assumed that you made 9 mithril every day (average of one mithril a day from login and then you were unlucky enough to get only 8 mithril a day...), you're looking at 23 days. On the other end of the spectrum, a devilishly lucky person who earns 35 mithril a day (double drops at maximum drop values) would do it in 6 days. Assuming you're committed enough to fighting each boss until it drops mithril twice a day, you're looking at no more than 11-13 days. Keep checking the videos, I'd say, because they seem to work sporadically...they'll help a fair bit.
It's sounding like I should be patient and wait for the Thunder gear, although after seeing how much experience I got for playing 9-10 waves of Single, the gun is looking tempting... lol OK, so it's been 10 minutes, which means I have another question... Does the Online Co-op MP "Front Line" end? Or is it endless? It seems like a better way to gain cash and experience... Is it? DBC
Co-op survival is endless. It's the equivalent of the infinite waves in single player. If you started the match with more than one player and you can stay alive, it can become quite profitable, but the aliens gradually become stronger and more resilient the longer you stay around. It's not bad if you have patience, but you'll find "Lair" to be a much better place for that endless exercise once you've got that level unlocked (also an excellent place to practise long-range usage of the machineguns). EXP and cash wise, online endless rushes are...alright, I guess. They'll be more profitable than their single player equivalents, but you'll want to move onto boss rushes once you're strong enough to do that (more EXP and mithril, as well as large gold payoffs the first two times you take out the boss in a day).
Currently in shock. I just had a level 5 player decked out in the Strike Armour set almost survive with me for the whole fight with Serpent. Yes. Strike Armour. On SERPENT. The player might have done no work in the fight (granted, he's not really in a position to do much damage against the Serpent with an assault rifle), but that is one bloody ninja. Hats off to a level 5 player who's skilled enough to learn and survive the Serpent's attacks on ~10,000 HP, and act as one hell of a decoy o____O
Ninja Now I'm trying to get speed because of the serpent ninja, got many booster packs Started using atom armor and nova to be a ninja... then used windblade to seem (even) more like a ninja
Video Mithril Okay, the "Flurry" videos are sort of working for me, but not the AdColony ones. It only lets me play one video, and then goes back to the "you've reached your daily cap" screen, but you can get around that by killing the Star Warfare app completely from the taskbar and reloading it. Not sure how many times it will work until the real cap is reached though.
Hi. new here. have a pretty silly question here: how do you level up ranks? I'm rank 9 already and I still don't know how it happened. BTW I have perseus armour, windblade and m-2781. non-IAP.
Not on my end. I keep getting the "If you like this game" which leads straight to iTunes, or repeated pressing of the button doesn't produce any result... Crap. DBC
@DBC: Yeah, it stopped working for me after a while. If I'm not hitting a preset cap, then it might have something to do with the time or location you're in. @Arrow0x, you level up ranks by playing in any mode except PvP (to the best of my knowledge, you don't get any EXP from PvP). If you've been fighting bosses for a while, that's probably how you got up to level 9 without realising it -- bosses give out obscene amounts of EXP, but you can only see how much EXP you're earning in single player mode.
Fighting and winning? Will I level up faster even if I don't always survive? I'm getting close (real close) to level 5. For right now, I'm going to focus on improving my game until I hit level 6 and can buy the Thunder armor. I can just barely survive the first campaign wave 5 with my blade at this point. While the giant gun is appealing, I'd rather be a better player without it than a mediocre player with it at this point... So yeah, will entering a bunch of MP boss fights and not necessarily surviving increase my Exp quicker? It sounds like many of the better players don't mind having noobs die early (more gold for them), so I wouldn't necessarily have to worry about being a burden, and if it increases my Exp quicker... DBC
You're still level 4 (Orange circle, single stripe)? I can't say for sure what happens with the EXP if you don't survive/kill anything, I'm afraid. From the way the boss fight works, I'm quite certain that you'll get EXP for it if you survive the boss fight, but as for the main monster wave...gold is primarily awarded based on the enemies you kill, so it might work the same way for EXP. Personally, I'd use the "mainstream" gold you're getting as a gauge of how much EXP you're earning when you're playing online (as in, not the pickup or bonus gold). I should imagine it'll be more beneficial to you EXP wise to stay alive during online games, rather than dying a lot. It *might* be quicker to level up playing single player offline if your survival rate is significantly higher, unless you're tagging along for boss runs and surviving. As for the machinegun...well, up to you how you want to develop your playstyle, buddy. I'd argue that using the machinegun will FORCE you to figure out how to survive, however, because that thing restricts your movement significantly. Sitting in a corner where enemies don't spawn and letting them come to you is very much a legitimate playstyle -- in fact, that's pretty much what 80% of players do on Siegfried. But yeah, if you're still on level 4, I think you can safely buy the machinegun now, and then have enough cash for a few pieces of the Thunder Armour by the time you hit level 6.
Exactly why I didn't like the big machinegun at first, I always switched to nova, until I learned... Wasn't that hard... Just had o actually use the gun.
Whoops! I'm level 5! One more level! Looks like a marathon day (as soon as my F-I-L goes back to his hotel). I'm almost there! Alright, alright, you're talking me into the gun. Should I get it ASAP, considering it's going to wipe out my funds just as I'm able to buy new armor? I just realized how my comments might have read, re: "very much a legitimate playstyle -- in fact, that's pretty much what 80% of players do on Siegfried." Please don't take offense, my comment was more about how poorly I feel I play this game currently... My train of thought is that if I can stay alive longer, I can kill more things, albeit slowly. But if I buy the big gun and don't know how to use it properly, I'll just end up dying as fast with a much larger gun... Maybe I'll buy the Helmet and the chaingun? Have I mentioned I wish Mithril was easier to come by? DBC
Hmm...Darthguy, if you're reading this, how comfortable are you using the M-27B1 right now? And how comfortable are you with giving a developing player a little bit of financial aid? >.> ------ Edit: Oh, don't worry DBC, no offense taken. I was trying to emphasise that the corner strategy is a very effective way to stay alive with the machinegun, because the defense is pretty much absolute -- in other words, you don't HAVE to be moving around all the time to complete the maps, if you're good enough to defend a single corner. If buying the gun is going to wipe out your funds and you want some armour right now, then get the armour first. Going from what I saw on Serpent, you may very well survive a run-in with Poison Pit if you focus purely on evasion.
Yes I love the M-2781, it is undebatedly best gold gun.(If you are talking about the first chain gun then I am mistaken but I can still kill well with it.) Well I am always worrying about my armor and Hp(so I gave up being a ninja) and started trying to get good health. But if you are far from unlocking thunder armor; get the gun, it is epic.(again I think you are talking about the M-2781 the other one is good as well.) If you are close to rank 6 then wait to unlock the armor.
If you'd like another way of being ninja, deck yourself out in the Cygni Armour. It's got a little less power than most other suits, but its HP is comparable to the Phoenix set. More importantly...+2 SPEED?! Get ready to move like a blur.
Ninja? Haha, I was joking about being a ninja, i like the perseus armor, and I like to be a laser cannoner with heavy armor, I actually value 7000 health more than 1 speed because as long as my speed is 7 and up I am fine, but with the laser cannon which as you know I don't have but used with a friend) I am a boss. I like to be a powerhouse more than a speedy ninja
