A vacation from SW until the next update or so... If everyone gets this and everyone is online at that time, we could have a full match. Even though the chances are low and it happened once
Seeing as Undead is in Australia time, they are low. The jetpack is an absolute ridiculous amount of money...
I've gotten pretty good with that shotgun, getting 8-12 killchains in tournaments. Know that map like the back of my hand now
If you play 10 hours of tournament, you might make it to the top and get a high level perk or even better an expensive weapon.
Hi everybody, just to let you know I am still around I was on vacation for 2 weeks, and did not really pay attention to this thread and the Social Group (you folks just post too much for me to keep up currently :> ). Well, as undead encouraged to name our current games (and no, I won't get into NOVA3), here you are: Spellcraft, a fantasy-themed cardgame in the CCG tradition. You can play against AI (which actually gets quite good at later levels) , or play 1-on-1 matches versus other human players. Really nice timekiller, I enjoy it alot. If anyone of you is into CCGs, you should give it a try, especially as it is free (you can purchase ingame gold to buy cards, but you do not need it. I bought a pack to support the - very nice and responsive - developers) . If you should pick it up and feel like a match, shoot me a PM here. Note that I changed my GCid to Null/Zone, though.
I see Sheinfell, I'll definitely look into it, the game seems quite interesting the way you tell it. Speaking of card games, there is one that I previously was into, called Guardian Cross, by Square Enix. (It's SE, it HAS to be good! ) It's not a bad game if I say so myself, but rather than the battles that are interesting, it's the way you collect the cards that's fun.
I gave Guardian Cross a try, too. And ouch, was this boring... autocombat of yourcard vs. enemycard. Admittedly, the collecting cards/monsters was fun for a while (collecting got boring after doing it 10 times or so), as was the mechanism for leveling them up (merging cards to get a better one) . But these nice ideas could not save it, Guardian Cross just had zero depth/strategy for me. Spellcraft definitely offers more tactical and strategical choices. Anyways, back to Star Warfare: Do you folks have any news if Freyr plans to release more content (especially new bosses) for Star Warfare?
They've been a little bit quiet on the content update front for a while: half of the suggestions we've contacted them about have never really been implemented (e.g. in-game communication/forum link, anti-freeloading mechanisms, boss rush mode, etc). They're mostly doing their own thing, from what I can tell, and I don't expect to be hearing from them for at least a month or so with regards to any details of new content... I'm playing one or two boss matches a day to keep my skills honed, but I might devote my actual gaming attention to other things I haven't touched just yet: I've still got plenty to do on Star Warfare on the non-gaming side of things, but I'm starting to think I've been spending a bit too much time on this one thing when we're really starting to hit the wall with regards to what there is to find in this game...
Took a look at the Freyr forums... More out of curiosity than anything, but I digress... So timeline: Before recent update: I PWN N00BZ all over. During/right after update: people complaining about losing their stuff. Now: Dead. Literally dead. That update must have pissed off a LOT of people...
There's also a second reason: a lot of the former participants started up a Facebook thread to speed up communication, because they got tired of constantly refreshing to conduct conversations. Your point still stands though: at least two of the most vocal players had hacked files, and they weren't happy about being barred; guess they're not in it for the game so much as the bragging rights... For the record: that was a key reason I never included them in the video projects: they get enough attention already. I'm not about to help the, get anymore with that sort of unsportsmanlike attitude. I only try to publicize cool people such as yourselves (Serpent still needs a recording when I have time, so if any of you are still playing when I'm free enough, please lemme know )
Thunderstrike? I'm out of practice and waayy to aggressive, but i can try (I could bring HYD, but I'll be reeeeaaallyy sslllooooooww. >_>) Also going from first person to third person is very weird.
Scratch my original quote about two vocal Freyr forum embers being banned: just about ALL of them got blocked, minus a few exceptions (e.g.TouchArcaders who appeared over there, and a few others). Aggression is fine provided you can manage your HP: just try not to get yourself killed Is it the alien or boss phase youo have trouble with? I find the alien phase relatively easy, but the boss phase is pretty nasty if you get hit by or step in poison...
That actually made me check the Freyr forums and start SW again... All there, no worries Good decision from Freyr to prevent play with a hacked file, I really approve of that. Sidenote: Someone over there wrote that they see mainly low/mid-level players now. Does that make us the grizzled high-level veterans on SW now? Do I have to make a reappearance to have one more person who can help newer players out?
There are high level players floating around out there, but we're getting many more players between levels 3-8 attempting to attack Serpent now, for whatever reason. We're definitely amongst the higher end of the rank/exp spectrum with regards to PvE, Rank 11-12 players are an incredibly elusive sight. ...not that it's truly weeded out the freeloaders and quitters though: I still have people leaving on me when they see a Thunder user for a teammate at the beginning of the match, or when they realise that the "weak-little-Thunder-n00b" is actually a "super-aggro-chaingun-freak" who will try to hog any enemy that steps into his sight. I haven't really checked the PvP side of things, but there seem to be much fewer players running around in Phoenix or Andromedae Armor now in PvE, which seems to indicate that many of them were hackers. You still get the occasional Perseus with a F.L.O.A.T bag and a Trinity, though they seem considerably more plausible than the former alternatives. ----------------- Edit: one other thing -- the latest update only blocks an associated GC account from being able to log in online. Hacked players can actually get around that by choosing to play as guests, but the ban still hits them where it hurts the most: the leaderboards. Most of the hacked players want to be recognised for their "I pwn n00bs skillz", which has effectively been sealed away from them for good -- they can't play using that GC name anymore. It also appears that associating a hacked file with a new GC account simply causes the new account to be banned too -- so if you see a GC which seems hacked, don't worry -- you won't be seeing them again if they're not legit. Beware of Lvl 9 guests though >.>
