Other than the twin snipers, really, I define burst damage as something that dishes out hue amounts of damage in a small amount of time. Preferably surprise attacks or straight on charges. (RPG, CQC, Others)
Yeah I love a lot of damage at a time too. But a cyngi user with this pack is speed 8 with trinity... And speed 7 with RPG conbo.>.> Not that I have seen it happen but still BEWARE!!!!! What is CQC?
The RPG Combo seems to lose a lot of its blitzkrieg value with the loss of mobility and and power going from the STK to the HYD. It's possible, but I'd argue that you move much too slowly to really ambush anyone, even with the Cygni speed bonuses. CQC = "Close Quarters Combat".
Anything that would be particularly deadly at close range? The Windblade isn't the only thing which works well at close range, seeing how much carnage the Trinity and Black Stars can cause as well with all their splash damage...
OP = "overpowered", which is the general sentiment towards the Trinity, I would suspect. Combo-wise, if you don't want to use any of the ones I originally mentioned, then you could simply switch from a low firerate weapon into one with a high firerate, such as switching from the Black Stars into the Nova-27. This gives you the ability to do a large amount of damage at close to mid-range, and then retreat to longer ranges while continuing to fire at the opponent. Theoretically an effective response if you try to attack someone at close range, only to discover that they're carrying a Trinity or the Tri-O-Avatar. The Windblade can also be paired with an automatic weapon in this fashion, though it may also be paired with the RPGs for another similar close-ranged effect. The Nova can also be used as an automatic substitute to the Twin Snipers, as you won't suffer the reload times between each shot: simply fire a sniper, and then switch into the Nova as if you were quickdrawing to finish off the opponent with a few shots. Otherwise...well, really, just try out whatever you want. I've ignored shotguns because they don't really work well beyond point blank range, and have little to no lateral range unlike its RPG and Light Sword equivalents. Grenade Launchers take too long to explode for my liking, but you could theoretically make a combo out of them by bombarding someone at close- to mid-range with multiple grenades in succession. How effective it would be, I haven't a clue. The remaining weapon classes don't fire slowly enough for me to envisage them in an effective combo: as you may have realised above, I've suggested the Nova be used as a damage buffer during the reloading periods: it otherwise fires too quickly to be effectively paired with another high firerate weapon. Quickdrawing is the only technique that utilises a principle significantly different to the standard "low-firerate mitigation" rationale for weapon switching.
From memory, you don't really have any weapons that need to be paired into a combo for the time being, because your favourite ones all fire relatively quickly. If you really wanted to, you could try switching to the LIT07 inbetween your Trinity blasts, except I think that's going to be a hassle with how fast the Trinity already fires. Otherwise, there's the Railgun, but you're not fond of that weapon, from memory. the Windblade is a similar story with the Trinity: you can do it, but I get the impression that it's more trouble than it's worth. See if you can throw in one or two swings of the Windblade inbetween the Trinity blasts though, if you want to try close-range...
Fun fact: Superion's ultimate defensive maneuver makes him about as resilient as Poison Pit. I'm now gonna call the disco ball a spider-crab >_____>
What?... Also I am fond of sniper now. But Im not gonna upgrade it because it gets scaled down more the more upgraded Basically its power wont change from upgrades.
Not right now, sorry. I'm getting ready to head off now -- just printing a few things for tomorrow, and then turning in for the night. In other news: FINALLY found a suitable video editor for making the Thunderstrike trailer. Now I just need to find the time to get around to doing so, because the editing looks like it's going to take more effort than the actual recording...
Speaking of which...I may need a few more video volunteers pretending to be various types of players that we generally don't like seeing. Off the top of my head, I'm after: A sword-wielding moron A coward who hides behind other players A kill-hog who immediately stops shooting and leads bulls straight towards his/her teammates A lead-footed, strong-armoured moron who keeps getting hit without dodging Possibly a Phoenix/mithril-cashed player who clearly doesn't know how to use their weapons (e.g. Trinity at long range, Energy Glove, etc) ...any more frowned-upon behaviours we can think of? If I do recordings of these and you guys volunteer, I'm certainly not going to say that you guys were the sword-wielding morons or whatnot -- I need it for the trailer to say "what NOT to do if you want to play this game properly without being a selfish jerk". (Won't be filming this week if I decide that I need video clip samples of these, gonna be quite busy)
Just as well: I was considering asking DBC to help play the role, except he's farrrrr too aggressive and efficient to play the sword-wielding moron properly
