Thanks for the feedback guys! Thought it'd be fun to see how fast the bosses die with various configurations, but I still say the good old fashioned way with chainguns (and perhaps laser cannons, but they're a little high tech to be "old fashioned ) is how real players do it Cycling snipers is quite strong if you're not missing with them - they're actually more powerful than the laser cannon if it didn't overheat Speaking of which...
Might need a piece of paper if there are 8 players then, unless you're good at recalling who you have and haven't taken out yet. It's a rather complex game with multiple phases, which is where we'd do well if we had a referee of some kind.
Quadruple post, apologies about that: but for anyone who considers themselves sufficiently mature, level-headed, of good moral judgment and who has known me for long enough, there's an incident or occurrence that's rather incensing me, and I have already made a post about it in the other forum. If you would be so kind to locate the relevant topic over there and read it, please let me know if you think I'm acting out of line -- time and patience are usually enough for me to reassure myself of my judgment, but I cannot say my feelings toward the topic at hand are changing even as I'm typing this, which may or may not be a sign of impaired/biased judgment on my part. Above all, I would appreciate it if you do not post or weigh into the discussion on that thread in question. I am not asking you to back me up so that I clearly have numbers on my side, but I'm asking you to tell me if you think I'm acting out of line BY POSTING OR SENDING ME A PM ON THIS FORUM, because I am questioning whether I am fit to judge my own judgments. ------------------------------- Let me also add this, while I'm at it: one of the reasons I am comfortable with including you all in the Thunderstrike videos is because you guys don't strike me as the sort of people who have the "look at me, I am a pro at this game and I kill noob players!" mentality. I have little interest in granting further attention to people whose egos will be even further inflated if they're on an even mildly watched Youtube video, and I'm quite hesitant to accept video runs with people espousing the "I am the freaking bomb, worship me" attitude. I respect those with humility, and cannot ever see eye-to-eye with those who let their egos run amok (don't worry, I *can* tell the difference between the occasional competitive banter and actual egotism ).
Hi undead, with all the crap flying around "over there" , I am not even sure which thread you refer to. (I know why I am not reading/posting there anymore) Mind sending me a PM with a link? --- @everyone: I read here only sporadically these days. So if you want to make sure I catch something, send me a PM. --- EDIT: I think I found the right one. Well, in my book, claiming ownership for something that obviously wasn't your idea first is a really bad and cheap move. No class, no style. So, no, you are definitely not out of line when you point this out / make it public.
I haven't yet read the post, undead, but from what I can decipher from the previous posts is concerning you and the Synthesis Combo, where someone has taken it to be the "Syndicate" combo? Regardless of what has been said, I feel that you shouldn't be out of line, as simply enough, you are technically the owner of the technique, so it is a bit infuriating to have players take it as their own creation. Edit-Read it over, and I agree. Enough said.
I wouldn't mind adding in a referee. The main part is the game mode, really. Other than the slight problems of the flag location and the count of players, what do you think of it? Do you feel it would be a complex but fun game mode?
Just noticed that Star Warfare is now 99 cents? It has been free for sometime now what gives? We all know a person could spend a truck load of real money in this game unless you know how to hack and steal everything!!!
I imagine that in a properly balanced match, it could drag on for a little while: unless someone is going around and single-handedly killing everyone with ease, the respawn times are going to prolong the game because you can kill anyone you see - meaning that once you've defeated most of the players, it's down to chance that you find your last few targets first before someone else takes them out, or you'll need to wait 15 seconds for them to respawn -- and when they respawn, they will be at full health, meaning there's a good chance they'll actually win a battle against you assuming that you two are of comparable skill. The game mode certainly sounds intriguing enough, but I'm pre-emptively wondering how long each "point" is going to last depending on the number of players in the game. I'd say, give it a spin when there are enough players available to play, and then be on the lookout for ways to tweak it around if matches are dragging on for a little longer than anticipated. Certainly worth testing it out
That might actually be a response to all the IAP hacking that's been going on: as much as it pains me to say it, there are actually communities out there which openly ADVOCATE the distribution of IAP-hacked savefiles. Look at some of the youtube results for "Star Warfare" -- you can tell that some players are clearly IAP-hacked by their mithril-heavy selection of gear, and also the amount of gold and mithril they're holding onto if they happen to show you their inventory screen at any point. The worst case scenarios actually feature videos showing how one can IAP-hack Star Warfare, as well as players offering and asking for assistance with distributing hacked savefiles. Well, my original argument was that putting a price on the game will at least stop people flocking to this game if they see how easy it is to hack it -- but halfway through typing the last paragraph, I realised that jailbroken players can just install the game file directly onto their devices by downloading it off a torrent/filesharing site, and bypass the initial purchase completely. So all I'm left with now is a relatively long-winded exposition on the alarming amount of IAP hacking happening in the wider Star Warfare community as a whole -- I don't actually have a logical explanation for the 0.99c price tag anymore, unless Freyr wants to experiment with its revenue stream again...
Yes I guess Freyr needs some revenue too so they can keep giving us these meaningful updates that keep me interested About the hacking I'll reiterate what DBC said and pass me a large bucket to vomit in!!!!!!!!!!
Erm, guys, you did read the description for star warfare right? On there it states that this app was only made temporarily free by freeappsdaily and that people could get it for free for a limited time so the app would return to being 99c. @JediKnight dude the reason is due to the good amt of hp and the said mysterious energy. A lot of people know a strategy, which I use, which is rushing in with a strong sword and decent armor (atom) and killing them off and also you need speed. The said mysterious energy helps defend against that, or in other words you touch them for a bit, you're automatically dead. I might use the chaos armor to add to the strategy though but really I'm not that experienced with the game.
I know the hp and such but tactics with it. I can kill them with THUNDER armor and trinity... stay semi close to them, they lose... Whats your armor? weapon? We like to use damage per second and math so Im wondering... Did you read what freyr said on their website? They said raising it to 99 cents was a dramatic decrease in sales so they changed it.. It was for most of the time the app was free.
It's been "temporarily free" for many months now...and actually, if you read some of Freyr's public announcements, they actually said their revenue stream took an extreme hit when they raised the price back to 0.99c back in March, when they were trying to get the game to a high rank in the paid apps section. They've left it for free for so long now that it's only natural we'd be surprised that it's a premium game again. Not that 0.99c seems like an unreasonable price, mind you -- despite all the problems found in this game, if it's managed to hold onto some of us for this long, I think one cent below a dollar is quite justified for the gameplay it's provided us. ------------------------ JediKnight, the Chaos Armour is an agile armour with a fair amount of HP. Its defensive capabilties don't match the Perseus, but its ability makes it quite troublesome to fight at close range.
I guess they need some more money or as undead said want to make it higher up the paid charts. @JediKnight- Because it adds to your close range ability to kill. What if they also had a trinity and was also using the ability?
Okay...assuming I haven't mucked up the times because of daylight savings (which will displace times by give or take an hour), a quick look currently suggests this, regarding players who are online around the same time: JediKnight and Superion, your two prime times will overlap no matter how badly daylight savings may have thrown off my calculations (Superion should be online an hour before and after JediKnight can come on for two hours). You two are most likely going to fit in the one match Arrow0x, I'm not entirely sure if anyone else from this forum is going to be online when you're usually available. You're around at 6pm-9pm, right? Because I imagine it's unlikely for you to be awake playing games first thing in the morning o___o (assuming it's PM, that's 5am-8am Central American Time -- yeah, I don't think you guys will be awake >.>) I might have to try introducing a non-Touch Arcader into the mix. Time to see if someone from my own timezone may be interested... JDualZ, I've got no data for you at the moment, so I can't make plans or provisions. I'll try fitting you in if you're online and free, but I might have to give you a miss for the Thunderstrikes if it's too hard making our schedules meet =.=" --------------------- Yay, another assessment due next week. May or may not be able to fit in some video runs while taking a break from working on it, so keep your eyes peeled
on weekends, playing games is the first thing in the morning. but yeah, my timezone is a bit troublesome. unless another Asian joins the fray, of course. but really, it's fine even if I don't connect online. this forum is fun already!
