There's a "Lounge" in the Players's Group which was made for offtopic discussions -- but we tend to go offtopic on this main thread quite frequently anyway, so whichever one suits your fancy more, I say Quite a few game recommendations from various players in the Lounge thread, but two of the recommended games I've got so far are Bullet Time HD (a top-down shooter) and Trigger Fist (a first-person shooter I've yet to really sink my teeth into). From memory, some players also have Modern Combat 3 and N.O.V.A. 3, but I don't have those. I might check out whatever it is that you've got in your recommended list when I have time

Yeah, I'm pretty burned on SW. Things are really busy right now irl, and the random field is so unbelievably frustrating and depressing... I just attempted a Serpent run... bull comes out, both other Rank 11-12 players pull out swords and run away... yeah, I'm pretty done. I'd love to run with you guys, but other than that? Notsomuch. Truth be told, I've never played this game for the teammwork component till I came onto this forum, which is probably why I can still bear to play this even though I've seen my fair share of quitters and sword-wielding morons When I'm running random matches, it's almost like I'm administering a patience/tolerance test to my teammates, and seeing how worthy they are of my support: If I'm running my gold-farming build: let's see if they'd like me so much if the internet connection is on my side, and I'm getting my hands on most of the alien kills. If I'm running Thunder Armour, let's see whether they stay - PERIOD. Those who stay are treated to a teammate who will pull his weight when the boss fight begins. Those who don't miss out on an easier kill -- no biggie, they were faceless teammates to me to begin with. As for sword-wielding morons? I'm actually getting fond of testing their patience: if neither of my remaining teammates are shooting at the boss, I will deplete its HP by 33-50% -- and then just stop firing. Depending on my mood, I might simply run around with them for a little while, or just ditch the match -- I really don't care how much ammo I'm wasting, even if I need to take down a 3-person boss on my own if both teammates have died or left. It's really my own way of answering the lazy players: "I've done my share, now do yours -- I'm really not that concerned about ditching my part of the reward if that's what it takes to get you to use your own ammo if you want the drops from my efforts." ---------------------------- See you on Trigger Fist when I've got time to figure out how to play it properly! I noticed -- though to be honest, you weren't really putting yourself in a good position by talking about the invincibility of your set-up either. While I believe you're most likely talking about your equipment configuration rather than your actual skill, anything that sounds remotely like a declaration of superiority is often interpreted to be bragging -- and hence, more bragging, trash-talking and flame wars start... I'm not questioning what your motive was, nor do I intend to assert that you were in the wrong -- but what I *am* saying is that once you've lived long enough to realise it, it's better to talk in a way that prevents anyone from misrepresenting your words before they even have a chance to do so. That's part of why I say so little on the forums -- I'm usually tempted to say a lot, but if I think what I'm about to say may risk bringing me more grief than productivity, I just simply say nothing.

That's true. Not to say that I was bragging about invincibility, I was simply noting that it would come in handy sometime with the high defense rate that it provides. Although I'm always eager for match, it is quite important to keep oneself in a state of constant check. I'm at the stage where I do sometimes show off a bit or show some competitiveness, but I'm more observant than one to trash talk or start flame wars. For now, I simply want to watch them and see what their skill is compared to our forum. I like being prepared for everything, so making countermeasures against other forum players is always a time consuming and challenging but also rewarding and fun experience.
By the way I have hacked like 10 ipods. None that were mine but if I wanted to, I could CRUSH them so mucccchhhhh...
Jedi, I was merely intent on watching the skill of these Freyr Forumers, but I'd you're going to start up a match, mind if I join in on it? I intend to spectate at first, but once I've seen a bit more of what they do, I'll bring in equipment accordingly to actually fight.
Keep it within reason, JK. We know they irritate you, but instead of talking about them, an open and honest confrontation may be the best bet to settling a dispute over skill. I'm not picking sides just yet, but in watching all of the Forumers here at TouchArcade, I'm relatively confident that you, of all people, can handle yourself in a PvP match. The same goes for Enjoo, Undead, Parcheesy, Asasnator, Lava, JDualZ, Vice, and Angel.
Well, I'll be frank for a moment here, then: I don't usually like complaining about specific people, but it *is* actually irritating me that he's taken to calling a variant of the Synthesis Combo the "Syndicate Combo", when the base idea and mechanics behind it are still very much developed from what I originally designed -- and I didn't even bother putting my own name in it. It frankly sounds somewhat stupid and egotistical in most instances, unless you've got a very good reason for doing so (e.g. if a flamethrower was introduced into the game, and ThePowerOfLava designed a combo, that actually sounds like a good reason to call it the "Lava Combo" or something). I prefer not to claim ownership of ideas that I'm 90% sure that I came up with and popularised (ergo, not Quickdrawing, because you clued me in on that mechanic), but it raises my ire to see someone else calling it their idea when they clearly got it off me, and even I'm not being that possessive about it. </rant> (Yes, some of the comments and attitudes over there are frankly wearing down my patience, apologies for anyone who actually sat down and read my rant)
You know, out of boredom, that may be what we can do to appease it. If you'd like, we could test the mettle and metal of those players over at Freyr. (WOW, was that a cool sentence or what?!?)
