If you're around when Superion gets back, sure -- I've been trying to catch a team of three capable of handling Double Rages and Serpent for a LOOOONG time now. Enjoo was being very helpful by constantly being around on standby, but we weren't finding anyone else confident of trying those two in the Thunder Armour. Oh, and health packs very much allowed -- no-one can anticipate a lagging boss >___>
Weaponry and packs should be moderately restricted, correct? Btw, idea: we should be able to use our HP packs on fellow teammates, maybe Freyr should add that o.o
We've bounced a few ideas around in this thread before with regards to being able to heal teammates, or perhaps having healing items heal everyone. Might be worth having someone else email them again? Packs, I'm not really going to restrict you guys on in the Thunderstrikes: it gives us a bit of a visual cue as to who's who in the video, and allows for some personal choice As for weapons, just don't make yourself look like an IAP-hacked player, and I'll be happy: laser cannons and trinities are quite fine on their own, but if you're bringing BOTH of them and an Energy Glove or something, then it starts sending the message that you need mithril to really play this game properly, which is not what I'm trying to say (as seen with how my predominant weapon is the M-27, with the Windblade primarily acting as the Quickdraw substitute). I'll be ready in about 15-20 minutes guys. Just finishing up on some light reading >.>
I'm pretty much ready whenever now, that was a little faster than expected. Gonna move this over to the match set-up thread, so head over there if you guys are reading this.
Not quite. This is the current status: Mantis: Laggy run. Scheduled for a retry. Poison Pit: Complete. Siegfried: Laggy run. Scheduled for a retry. Double Rages: Missing last few seconds of fight. Mostly complete, but *might* re-run if I can't think of how to edit it. Serpent: no attempts.
Fighting bosses in a team of 3, all with Thunder Armour. I've never mentioned hyper clips, but everyone I've fought alongside has been bringing them because that's how you bring out the full capacity of the Thunder Armour's damage output, not to mention that it's just more efficient fighting bosses in general like that. It was more like an implicit condition that everyone was already abiding by with their natural playstyles. People seem comfortable enough about the Thunder Armour in general -- it's just trying to get two people coordinated at the same time that's proving unusually tricky. That, and there's a general shortage of players confident enough to try Double Rages and Serpent with that little HP, which is why I'm particularly happy we got a video run on Double Rages a bit earlier, even if we're missing the last few seconds of the match. As for why the Thunder Armour specifically? The video series is meant to show players that the Thunder Armour is very much enough to take out all the bosses: you don't need that much HP if you know how to dodge and manage your health. Additionally, you don't need to be overloaded in expensive/mithril gear to play properly: the M-27 isn't that cheap, admittedly, but it's a gold-based weapon you can rely on to get you through all the bosses. I'm allowing people to bring their favourite gear because it shows some personal preferences and styles, but the general gear restriction is to avoid making it look like that you need loads of mithril gear to play well (i.e. a Laser Cannon or a Trinity is quite fine, but if one person is bringing BOTH of those and then the Black Stars or Energy Glove, they're starting to look like an IAP-reliant player). ------------- TL/DR: with the Thunderstrike series, I'm trying to show viewers the often-underestimated capabilities of the Thunder Armour, while also showing them the capabilities of the M-27 as a strong, non-mithril based weapon from my own playstyle. At the same time, I want to allow my teammates to be able to show off some of their own playstyles and weaponry choices, so I'm not confining them to the M-27 provided they're not too reliant on multiple pieces of expensive mithril gear.
I think I'll be able to do that. just that my time zone is a little different, so I generally can't play with you guys often. I have M-27B1 and Windblade both maxed out, which, along with great healths and hyper clips, should be more than enough.
Quick ques: Since the white drill is weak you need another long range weapon right? If so then Im getting the LIT instead, I just CANT use 3 wapons... And DONT ask me to not use trinity. *glares* So does it need another long range weapon?
The White Drill is only comparatively weak. It's actually decent if you can land hits while continuing to shield yourself from getting hit at the same time, because the homing compensates for being inaccurate. The Nova still excels in terms of being a faster weapon overall. With your particular fighting style, however, you're probably better off going for the LIT07 assuming the scaling doesn't make it weaker than the Nova: your aim's fairly dead-on, and you probably want power moreso than homing because you're trying to kill things as quickly as possible. If the comment about asking you not to use the Trinity is with regards to the Thunderstrikes, then it's the same as what I said earlier: don't overload yourself with mithril gear, and you're mostly fine. A Trinity like Parcheesy? Quite alright. Laser Cannons like Enjoo and Superion? Also acceptable. One person bringing both of those? Then you'd be pushing it. You're allowed to choose whatever you want with your backpacks, mithril or not, as that'll help distinguish who's who in the video.
That's actually what I'm packing as well, looks like you're a fellow minimalist. High five! How different is your timezone, if you don't mind me asking? The bulk of people here are Americans, we definitely had at least two Europeans around over the last two months...and then you've got me, where the old stereotype is that we're overrun with kangaroos >_____>;
To anyone who's fought Serpent since the update: is it just me, or are there suddenly a lot of players who seem to delight spamming the Black Disk on either end of the map, so that it bounces off the ceiling and ground? I'm glad you're having fun, but some proper aiming would be much appreciated >____>;
first off, thanks. When I said the *glare* I was talking about hating 3 weapons in a pack and saying needing that with white drill and saying that dont say "well you could just use white drill and nova if you want 2 weapons" So I didnt target that at you... I meant no offense.
No offense taken buddy, I just didn't know if you felt like I was restricting your weaponry choices what with the Thunderstrikes and the mithril gear limit Umm, question...do you mind if you did either of or both of Mantis or Serpent for the Thunderstrike? Just got a VERY good recording of Siegfried, and that was taken by Parcheesy and Asasnator o______O
