Post in the Match Set-Up thread, he's not looking at this one at the moment. (Use the email ping to try getting his attention) (Activity feed, y u so stalkerish =.=")
DBC, would you happen to have or be interested in checking out an app called "Mumble"? It's a voice-chatting app, but there's an instant-messaging capability for people within the room too. If you don't want to voice-chat, you can simply "self-mute", and then keep typing under the "messages" tab once you've joined a server. Very handy little workaround To everyone: I'm suggesting Mumble's IM capabilities as an alternative to setting up a match instead of the Match Set-up thread, because communication is much more instantaneous there; no waiting around for emails or refreshing!
Yeah, you won't; but someone who's been in there for longer can relay older messages to people who just joined. It's really more like a system where we can have three people jump in, and instantaneously go: A: "let's go Siegfried! Password 4040!" B: "Gotcha!" C: "Sure!" All within the space of one or two minutes, ideally. Once a match has been done, there's no need to look at those messages again anyway, from what I'm thinking.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't because he wasn't moving just standing there because I told him to so I could test out how long does it take to kill Perseus with a laser cannon
Undead, Im a genius. I guess I have done a lot of coding... But I sent an email to freyr asking them about unity3d and they said yes. I was correct, they did use unity 3d for the game.
Well, if you know the code/engine/whatever-type-of-thing-Unity-3D is, doesn't that mean you could get inside the game and tinker around with it as you'd like? Unless there are encryption and/or publishing processes that I'm blissfully unaware of... While I don't think you're the type of person to actually hack the game to benefit yourself with one-hit kills and aimbots or whatnot, I'm just thinking of the possible things you could do with an ability like that: maybe you could go in and change the colour of the armours to your liking, insert a new one of your own, make your own map, or control the camera angle and shoot some kind of movie using the models from within the game...the possibilities seem endless to me, if that's actually possible
I was actually just looking around YB Factory an thinking about what an awesome movie you could make using all those floating platforms. Of course, you will probably need to ask Freyr for permission to make such a thing, if you want to avoid getting lawsuitted to death
Most game developers I've seen seem fairly relaxed about people making machinimas, because it does nothing to damage their image or product. If anything, the free publicity is probably helping them. Take a look at "Red vs Blue" from Rooster Teeth: they actually became so popular that I think Bungie gave them access to some additional game functions in Halo 2 so they could do things not normally possible within the ordinary course of the game. Looong story short: fan-made projects don't seem to attract many lawsuits provided you're not making any profit from them, with regards to making machinimas out of a game. The actual audio and music though, that's a different story. Tread carefully.
Think of it this way: The code is their file, they published the game not the code or the models. This makes it impossible to benefit myself or shoot a movie. The game is actually a DIFERRENT file than the actual game... And I cant access the files either.
