I think that's lag, because that happened to me a few times when I was testing out the damage of some weapons as well. It seems like your game can sometimes fail to send the damage you're doing to an opponent over to them, which seems to result in them taking no damage even when you're blasting them at point blank.
Let's; I'm going to see if I can still fight with proper mobility with one less speed and a little less power. You want to try a rank-restricted match so we can get more gold?
