I can't decide whether I'd like that better or not. See, it's either: Take 5-10 seconds to die = spend 5-10 seconds of frenziness trying to survive when someone gets the jump on me, and most probably dying. Take 1.5 seconds to die = less time to panic -- just kneel over. Better for one's heartrate, but not that much of a game.
Mos def. That's one of the things that drew me to it. It's very realistic, and the bots are PUNISHING. Oddly enough, I do far better with human players, probably because they're much more predictable in their movement and shooting styles... I'm pretty sure I laugh each and every time I pick up the goat. I know it's basically CTF, but a goat? DBC
The way it is works like this. If someone has the jump on you, don't bother turning around. You're finished. Even the weakest weapon given at the start of the game can pick off a hardened Trigger Fist player in a mere second or two.
They are, oh they are. The bots aren't afraid to spawn kill you either. By the time you aim the laser sight, the bot will have put you down already. Merciless bots.
Hmm...I've already got the game downloaded, so I should check it out regardless. Going from how the bots behave though, it's not sounding like my kind of thing. As keen as I am to see how one is meant to lug a goat around, I don't think that's quite enough to offset my general aversion to most FPS games...
It's a very realistic game, and as such, not very forgiving until you figure out what's required of you. When I started, I routinely went 0-2/14-20, but now, a couple weeks later, my K/D is at 1.7... If you run around feeling invincible, you will die, a lot, but once you dial in your expectations... Free tips for newer players? Don't run around spraying ammo hoping to hit something. Stalk quietly, wait until your weapon's strength is properly exploited, and strike quickly. Do NOT camp for long periods. It doesn't work. Decide how you want to play, and choose class and weapon accordingly, ie, Scout for close combat, Rifleman for long-range combat... Hope to see you guys out there! DBC
Yeah, that's one of the beauties of the game for me, learning to play smart instead of aggressive, which my well-documented history with SW shows is not the easiest transition for me... As for getting the jump, keep in mind it depends on class and weapon as well. I've gotten quite a few melee kills merely by strafing away from fire coming from behind... Agree on weapons vs. player level. It really does come down to class, weapon, and ability... DBC
I'll make a match in garage, FFA Password 2002. My GC is Umbrablade. Let me get the first kill so I can show you exactly what my aura looks like before you die
Got the "invincible noob syndrome" bit down pat quiiiiite a while ago. That was the original reason I was running around in the Cygni in PvP over here, in an attempt to minimise my time out in the open and sneak up on players. Stilllllll not working too well against tougher players in this thread with quick trigger fingers who have superior map control to me. To apply some knowledge/theory I recently learnt, my overall "competence" at realistic shooters is quite skewed: in terms of "knowledge" and actually thinking about it, I think I know most of the basic principles about stealth, patience, and the element of surprise. In terms of the "skill" or actual performance of it? Think of a loud quacking duck with a gun strapped to its back: not quite just sitting there, but I do poorly enough for people to spot me and then pick me off like it's hunting season. That, and ducks don't have terribly good aim with guns.
Hey grey, long time no see, players are coming back. I'm loving trigger fist, at level 8. I'm better at it than SW
Wow the staggering shots are scary O_O. Oh and ArchAngel204 forgot his password so he wanted me to tell you guys that he plans on getting Nova and keeping Thunder armor.
