The problem is the extended range on that thing, as well as the increased firepower. They can get the pre-emptive strike on you, and you can't take as much damage in the power hybrid because you have less HP. Consider staying slightly outside mid-range until they fire the Black Stars, then try rushing them or continuing to spiral towards them -- you need to make at least one of their salvos miss, or you'll be at a HP disadvantage. I haven't tried that myself, but I can say I'm not fond of nimble opponents making it hard for me to shoot them by varying their range and pace. Just don't slow down, and exploit the lower firing rate. I daresay the staggered salvo has something to do with either tapping the Black Stars, or otherwise interrupting it with a weapon switch. I can't say for sure, but I've made it fire one or two rockets only before.
Yup, I should have known. Superion's so called secret technique that he's so proud of and refusing to disclose is something I'm very familiar with...or perhaps it's not, but if that's the case, there's more than one way of initiating it. Use the Black Stars like you're trying to quickdraw/tap-switch into another weapon, and then switch back and fire it again: changing to another weapon the first time interrupts the rocket sequence and only let's you fire off one shot. The remaining two are fired the next time you switch back to the RPG -- along with another fresh salvo of three. ----------- Btw, to the power hybrid users: if the HP of the armours are all scaled to the same proportion, 5 rockets from the Black Stars may very well kill you or leave you on critically low health. Basically, if you're going to get hit, KILL THEM FIRST - if they land another full strike on you, you're effectively finished.
Oh, I can tell you that one works...may not be the same as what you do, but it'll do the staggering. Good lord, this thread has turned into a PvP Set-Up thread of its own o____o;
