Nope. CoD BO 2 looks epic I do hope my parents let me... What did your parents say when you wanted that(whichever one you got first)
Oioi, let's see: FF 6,7,8,9,10,10-2,12 on the PS1&2 FF 1-3 on the iThingies, but I cannot remember much of them. FF Tactics on iPad. Did not get far, I could not warm up to it, mostly because I did not like the interface. And 10 and 12 were my favorites, closely followed by 7&9 who share a spot. 10-2 was a huge disappointment storywise.
Thanks to the guys who responded earlier about whether they've played Final Fantasy or not (I recall Sheinfell and DBC having gone through the vast majority of the main numbered series, while Superion's gone through a few as well? Sorry if I missed your responses in the sea of posts here). Well, video break, for those who are interested: this is what I'm speculating regarding the origins of one of our resident bosses >.> Maaaaaybe not really, but I thought it would've been fun to see what happens when you put that theme music to the fight >.>
Ah, also forgot to mention that I'll be out for most of today, so Thunderstriking is out (at least, with me as one of the people recording). Enjoy yourselves, and thanks for the positive feedback so far
Definitely funny, I grinned alot The fake FF-style battle messages were a pretty nice touch, too. Maybe you should do Serpent to the sound of Rawhide You could even make that your - admittedly wacky - signature: Use country music for all of the boss videos. Edit: Try that one for a "special" touch: Yoshida Brothers - Rising : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_CzD0GBD-4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Oh, did I laugh ever so hard.... Amazing piece of work, Undead, with the witty Final Fantasy styled combat text with the battle, it was hilarious and enjoyable. I do like the part where you described Siegfried charging "Lag", then "sneezing" to wipe out a player. Great job.
The Final Fantasy series is always a good place to start Just note that they're not all part of the same story: each game is in its own self-contained universe, although there's been some efforts to link the universes of some of the games together... That, and please beware of the fanboys: to the best of my knowledge, the highest concentration of them are around FF6 (primarily the main villain) and FF7 (primarily graphics, and then the music and the villain). Both are quite good in my opinion, so don't let the jaded perspectives get in your way -------------- Again, thanks for the additional feedback Sheinfell and Superion, glad you guys enjoyed it If you don't get some of the references (e.g. "RageCandyBar"), there are some Pokemon references thrown in there as well, when the series was still good/bearable for me (i.e. Red/Blue/Yellow, and then Gold/Silver/Crystal). Btw, I think you've just stimulated my interest in the Yoshida Brothers: "Rising" was definitely an interesting song that contrasts with the masses of pop songs I'm being subjected to on the radio these days. Now I might go request a Japanese-themed setting as a new map from Freyr. The Perseus Chest piece would fit in quite well with the theme, the shoulder pads remind me of samurai armour Rawhide, I'm gonna give that a little thought on how I could use that. The pace of the song feels a little bit slow to use in the midst of a frantic boss battle, but I daresay it might come in handy for making some kind of Wild Western themed trailer, possibly coordinated between multiple players. Btw, for any aspiring machinima visionaries out there: consider using the scoped-in view of the railguns to shoot movies, if you can control it well. That seems to remove most of the weapon from the screen
There's something I grabbed while it was free called "Aurum Blade" which I've yet to sink my teeth into, but a quick look at the AppStore indicates that its overall average is sitting around the 4.5 / 5 mark from 144 ratings. It's more of an action RPG rather than a turn-based one (i.e. the type where you control how your character moves and you can time when he/she swings their weapon or casts a spell, as opposed to the ones where you select your action from a menu), but it might be a good place to start. Can anyone here vouch for that game?
Aurum Blade doesn't look appealing to me at all. Seems to be one of those Korean grindfests Favorite RPG? Difficult question... Well, FF-10 kinda qualifies for PS2. I stopped playing on PCs years ago, so I cannot comment much on titles younger than 7-8 years or so. All-time PC favorite is Planescape:Torment. Definitely worth checking it out. On iOS, the two Spiderweb games: Avernum and Avadon.
