I'm currently playing the H3!! out of Trigger Fist...

The devs obviously love what they're doing and know how to make TPS games specifically for the iOS, and wearing a goat as a backpack? PRICELESS.

    Oh, and no freeloaders.;):D

I believe we've got a few Modern Combat 3 players here, if I'm not mistaken. Not quite my type of thing, but I believe both Enjoo and JK can vouch for it :)

Sheinfell put together quite a list of RPGs. I'm not sure if I've located them all, but he quite kindly left me a link earlier when I asked about it in the Lounge. Start reading from post #5376.

    --------------

As for the Thunderstrikes, two things:

    a) We need 3 active players for a video run. If I'm assuming correctly, Parcheesy is able to come online right now, but he's not in a position to play. I think I'm the only person on the forum so far who can record the screen output directly rather than with a camcorder. Otherwise, if you just wanted to ask people to run alongside you in Thunder Armour without doing a recorded video, you can do that whenever :D

    b) I'm trying to get some variation in the names and faces we see in the five videos I choose to upload (possibly 6 if the impending update introduces another boss). While I have no problems giving one or two players a little more exposure if they're frequently available to act as a third when no-one else is around, I'd very much like to ensure none of the volunteers miss out. Enjoo is currently holding 3 places across the five bosses because he's been a great help, though I may have to modify that depending on constraints.

(TL/DR for that paragraph: I appreciate enthusiasm, but I don't wanna cut out volunteers, so I may have to knock back offers after a person has two or three guaranteed video spots >.<)

I was turned off MC3 due to the overwhelming prevalence of online tough guys, general lack of maturity among players (n00bs, pwnage, etc.), and hackers, but for the moment, Trigger Fist appears to have attracted a significantly more mature audience, perhaps due to the challenge it presents. Further, in its current state, I don't know if hacking would be worth it for someone...

As for the Thunderstrikes, I'm truly sorry I haven't been more helpful. ATM, I'm either reading, writing, reading TA in short bursts, or throwing in a quick game during breaks, and it's just too hard to organize the time to arrange getting involved...

I'm glad it sounds like it's working out pretty well for you guys...:D

No braces here, and the goat is Lake Effect's version of CTF. Believe me, you will laugh every single time you pick it up...

There's actually a GC achievement for "most time spent with the goat..."

Seriously, knowing how you like to tear into games that really challenge attention to detail, I wouldn't hesitate suggesting you pick it up...;)

Quote Enjoo: "The Thunderstrikes are cursed."

Whenever I try to record and run a two-player match, things actually move quite smoothly. Whenever we try a proper three-player match, however, something's always amiss:

    • Lag: Quite a few matches featured enemies simply not responding to bullets for a few seconds, and then instantaneously bursting when my net kicks back in. Even the most complete run with Enjoo and Superion featured lag on my end, although that was a fully recorded match with all three players surviving till the end.

    • Teleporting enemies: Siegfried teleported right on top of Enjoo and squashed him in our first attempt with JediKnight. In our second attempt, I got gored by a lagging bull on a hill and instantly died -- when I had full health o___O

    • Stream crashes: the Poison Pit run with Enjoo and Parcheesy was near perfect, but my program crashed halfway through the alien rush. I got it back up and running, but it's not quite a complete video =.="

Suffice it to say, if it starts getting any more annoying, I may consider ditching the attempts to record a full match from start to finish, and simply truncate it to the boss fights. I'm keen to include the alien rush as well though, simply to show how it's possible to do all the bosses in a full team when you've only got 20,000 HP.

Considering what happened when you told me to grab BTHD, I just went and plonked the game in my download queue :D

Speaking of which, the leaderboard for the top spots in BTHD has suddenly become insanely tough. It looks like you'd have to breach 14.5 million to even put yourself in the top 20-club now o___O

I am really gonna need to sit down and revise my r-n-g shotgun technique when I'm running solo...

Apologies for the triple post, but how many people here have played Final Fantasy 7, or any games from the FF series? (Please answer if you read this, even if you haven't played it). Trying to get a gauge for how many people here are going to understand my latest Youtube spoof when it goes up >.>

In response to the triple post is this: my BTHD is going along okay, although I haven't played it in a while. DBC, hey, how's it going? I'm back from the dead! Undead, we should run another TS, two players is fine as well. As for the ff series, I've played a bit of 7, a lot of 10 (my personal favorite), a tiny bit of 13, and 1+2.

Oh, I've been PvPing lately, and I've tried out new weapons. I've currently established a mastery of my two basic weapons already, but I've squeezed in the level 8 black stars as a suitable "lazy weapon" for non Perseus users. With the reduced health of most other armors, the black stars makes quick and easy work of them without the hassle of aiming in for a perfect snipe.

Speaking of perfect snipes, I've gone 5 pvp matches in a row in first place using mostly the sniper. My aim isn't bad at all, I manage to hit players quite often now.

If we're talking about "Operation Thunderstrike" as the video project I suggested, two-player video runs aren't what I'm after: I'm trying to do 3 player runs because enemies are inherently tougher and do more damage the more players you have. One stray scorpion sting or fireball from a flying bug knocks off close to 4000 HP, making dodging much more important even when you have teammates.

Basically, aside from the joyride I want to talk teammates on when we're doing this, there are two points I wish to make for people watching the videos on Youtube:

    1. The Thunder Armour should not be underestimated because of its low HP. You don't need 50,000-60,000 hit points if you know how to dodge, something that doesn't really seem to hit home with a lot of players.

    2. The gameplay experience is so much more awesome when everyone is pulling their weight. This is very much a video series designed to discourage freeloading: if this makes it look cowardly, unskilled, and overall appear "noobish", then I hope it acts to discourage that kind of behaviour.

    -----------

Good to know you've played two games from the FF series, you'll hopefully get my sense of humour when I'm done editing this little side project ;)

OK, so, yes, I've played FF, up to XI.

    What's up Superion?:D

Anything that discourages freeloading is good... oddly enough, I would estimate that fully 9 out of 10 of my freeloader experiences are with players who are at least Rank 7, which seems weird. Further, most are between Ranks 7 and 10. Finally, PP and DB seem to attract the most freeloading.

As an aside? One thing I've done to make my life much less stressful. If a player does not pull out a gun of some sort and/or actively runs away when the first bull comes out, I bail. This obviously does not apply to a higher rank player who can kill the bull handily with a sword, like for example in the M & PP fights. In my experience, avoiding the bull correlates almost 1 to 1 with freeloading in general... YMMV;)

Have I mentioned lately that the game has become more of a "kill the freeloader" experience for me, as opposed to a "kill the boss" experience?

I'm out for a bit guys. Gotta write a draft. Stay out of trouble...

A little sidenote that I'll entrust to you guys, seeing how I can trust you not to abuse the techniques I come up with (or at least, I think I can trust you more than some other forums :p):

The original version of the RPG combo I proposed is actually inefficient, because weapon scaling makes the RPG-31 and RPG-24 much weaker than their advertised power due to the weapon scaling I mentioned a while ago.

You'd actually get a more powerful combination by replacing the RPG-24 with the Trinity. So in effect, it's not a proper anti-Trinity set-up anymore -- it's actually a Trinity augmentation. Or rather, a Black Stars/Trinity combo o___O

...yeaaaaah, please use that knowledge with discretion. It's technically a valid tactic, but so ridiculously overpowered in PvP...

I dislike combos. They are midrange but in long range well I need to equip nova and then stuff doesnt work out. I am not quite sure what to get next as I thinknPvP is more fun than PvE so I dont need LIT... Ideas for what to get? I was thinking the 280 mithril RPG but I dont want to be over powered... Any ideas to make me powerful and have fun?

Im not a tycoon so heres my question:

IS THERE ANY WAY TO FEND TRINITY USING ITEMS THAT TOTAL TO BE LESS THAN IT?

This is the only way to stop some from being cocky. Of course long range, but anything in close range? Because using black stars and such are kind of well even more cocky and does not serve its purpose. From long range I can kill them but...

Anything from close range? I tried a sniper/RPG (didnt work) a windblade (didnt work) I have NO idea anymore.
Any sugestions? undead and superion I am looking at you two right now!

Though sniping in close range seems easier because they are closer but using common sense or trigonometry.(I know, i know) the angle you have to turn is actually more making it harder to aim, people will pick you off easily.
