I haven't really used it for a long period of time and it was only with 2 weapons. I have noticed the pull on my muscles though and will watch out for it.
It's fine if you think I'm overreacting. I've actually induced something very similar to golfer's elbow by doing something improperly with a tennis racquet, so I know how long these sorts of injuries can take to heal. Just don't go wild with it, even if I'm sounding like a clown or something.
Yeah, I play tennis and see some people looking like overlybending their wrist. What I found funny wasnt the warning, it was how lifelike video games have become.
Funnily enough, "snapping" your wrist is a very powerful technique in tennis. It's most frequently used to add power to your serve, but some players can also use it on their groundstrokes to perform something closer to a squash shot. That's not how I injured my arm though, for the record. What I did was a sort of super-exaggerated backhand stroke that more closely resembled a punch than a swing. Doing that with a racquet placed excessive strain on the tendons connecting the inner side of my elbow, and I wasn't really able to play again for 6 months. Probably took another 6 months for me to feel confident that I could move my arm properly without injuring it again.
(Enjoo, lemme widen the net a bit to minimise waiting time) If anyone who reads this is free and willing to try running a boss in a team of 3 where all of us are wearing the Thunder Armour, please start checking the Player's Group!
Well snapping it the wrist too much will be not so great, happened to me on a 2 handed backhand, ouch.
I think you've actually got more opportunity to flick the wrist safely on a two-handed backhand: you have the support of two arms, so the strain isn't concentrated in one arm. That being said, my arm muscles are probably a fair bit more developed than yours at this point, so it may not be the best idea for you to try that too much until your arms are naturally stronger. ---------- On-topic: we've got one full Siegfried video on hand right now, but I'm very much looking to replace that one if possible (quite a bit of lag, and not all of us made it because the damned lizard teleported on top of one of us). Volunteers always welcome!
+++NEWSFLASH+++ Avernum 6 announced for October iPad launch! Look here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=149022 Have to beat the drum a bit here I played both of Spiderweb Software's iPad titles - Avadon:The Black Fortress and Avernum:Escape From The Pit - and enjoyed them immensely. Huge worlds, good dialogue, long gameplay, and above all excellent storytelling. If you are even remotely interested in quality RPGs (and I mean *real* roleplaying games, not today's "crappy action games with some levelup mechanics"), batten the hatches and sharpen the pitchforks. <--- metaphorical mess What I want to say is, if you like good RPGs, be on the lookout for Avernum6 on iPad.
It's times like these that make me wish I could just bowl through all my assessments right here and now >.< A few games with heavier stories that I've yet to start playing, and the pile is just growing...
I've been following the Kingdom Hearts series for a little while, but that falls under the so-called Action-RPG genre rather than the true essence of original RPGs. Ditto the Legend of Zelda series, although they both usually pull out some good gameplay experience for the standards I'm used to. Golden Sun is somewhat kiddy compared to some of the other things out there, and the themes in the Grandia series vary quite a bit between games. I can say I enjoyed playing them, but I can usually enjoy anything that doesn't outright irk me -- your tastes and standards seem generally higher than mine in this department As for what I've yet to play? Believe it or not, I've yet to touch FF12, or Metal Gear Solid 3 or 4. THAT stuff, I really need to get around to doing when I've got time to sit down and start exploring every corner of the games!
Hey you guys been having a lot of fun with the RPG combo, I kept getting 20 or more kills, that combo is so OP
Yeaaaaah, please try to limit your usage of that combo. I sorta put myself on a self-imposed ban to stop it destroying the game in most instances >.> That being said...if you encounter a Windblade or Trinity user, feel free to pull it right back out -- that combo was originally designed to counter those two weapons to stop their users from getting too cocky
My armor+trinity does that too. Woohoo! Hoping for more weapons in next update. Are you hacker/IAPer? Sorry, no offense.
Oh okay, I'll won't be using it so oftensince I saw your post about the Synthesis Combo and how it can give you RSI on your wrist Sad, such a power must come with a price
The RPG Combo isn't the same as the Synthesis Combo. I'm only asking you to avoid using the RPG Combo so much so you don't infuriate too many players: there's already some hatred of the Windblade and the Trinity because of how powerful they are at close range, and the RPG Combo is stronger AND has a greater range...sooooo, yeah, save it for the people you actually want to tick off As for the Synthesis Combo...it's basically the combined form of the Twin Snipers, RPG Combo and Quickdrawing. I just put this link up in the Lounge on the Players' Group, but this is essentially what it is. It's the frantic tapping and then pressing that you need to do which will place a fair bit of stress on your hands. The RPG Combo can be done just by holding down your thumb on the right stick, and then continuously sliding up and down on the weapon scroller using the index finger of your right hand. It's nowhere near ergonomically stressful.
