Not sure how accurate this information is, but according to one user on the Freyr forums, we might be due for a game update in 24 hours. If he's actually saying it as a statement of fact rather than as a request/demand, then we *may* have a new boss to contend with, and the Thunderstrike slots just increased by two. Source found here, posted by "davyll". 5 players sounds like a very strange number for a boss mode...but that could be one hell of a co-op party o___O
Frankly, that's what I'm thinking as well. I wasn't entirely sure with what he meant with his first post given that English doesn't appear to be his first language, but his second post lacks any mention of source material as well. Even mention of an email from Freyr would've given him a little more credibility. All the same, perhaps something to look for just in case, but a "5-player co-op" mode seems fairly unwieldly, particularly given that 3 players are already enough to crowd out Mantis through to Siegfried.
If I had to make sense of it, I daresay he might be trying to pressure Freyr into releasing an update now if he stirs up expectations from players on that forum. I don't particularly feel like making my suspicions explicit, as I can see a flame war breaking out quite easily over there.
5 player coop is not my thing. Taking care of 5 peoples health though sounds like a challenge, gonna get some noobs in serpent (tqke on 5 peoples serpent health alone). But right now Im farming mithril so not going to do that, but for some reason I doubt 5 playercoop very much. I was hoping for the friendly fire weapon or similar...
Taking care of four viper armours would be a rather...interesting baby sitting exercise. On the other hand though, imagine how quickly the poor Serpent would die if it was faced with five hyper-clipped M-27B1s. Possibly from five players in hybrid power or full Thunder set-ups O___O;
I seriously would not like an update rushed. I have programed very much and is pretty sure what language/software they are using (unity 3d is my guess, this is what I am using too) and rushing programming results in loads of errors even if they are hard to spot, they might not even be program errors, (I made a platform too high and couldnt jump on it.) Flame war? What do you mean?
They're working on Project X right now. Man power will be limited. I don't think freyr checks the forum. Unless they get many angry emails, Freyr won't be releasing a update soon imo
You know every boss I faced takes less than 2 full hyperclips to kill. Im looking forward to more of a challenge... Or switch out my armor. This would though help out the thunderstrike...
I quite strongly agree with both of you: I don't think it's likely that we'd be getting an update when they're pooling their resources into Project X (unless Project X is the update), and I don't want the end product rushed. A little wait for a more polished product is something I'm quite willing to endure, if that's even an appropriate word. And by "flame war", I mean that I wouldn't be surprised if anything remotely resembling an accusation resulted in defensive behaviour from the users on that forum, given what I've canvassed of their overall personalities. People naturally respond to hostility with hostility, and that could get VERY messy. As fun as it might be to watch, I'd rather see a somewhat productive forum than a cuss-fest, if that's the right terminology to use. All the same though, never hurts to hold people accountable to their claims, good move Enjoo
If you're fighting on your own, two hyper clips are very much enough to kill most bosses (particularly with your power-geared set-up). It's when you're fighting with teammates who doesn't use hyper clips that it starts becoming a little stretched.
I also doubt 5 player boss runs. 3 seem good enough. But a friendly fire weapon could also hurt you. A player starts shooting at you, so you die
Yeah thats why hurting a friend also hurts you making people reluctant unless they really hate some oen (*points to freeloader*)
