Sure that is ok, thanks alot, JK. Maybe even better that you bet me to it, I started thinking about a thread name, and ended up with "The Undead Ukulele" . Because it was undead's idea, and I thought something that sounds like a pub or cafe would be nice. So you all got saved by JK, no hawaiian zombie pirate pub
That would've been a rather interesting "haunt", if you know what I mean ------------------ So, an idea that crossed my mind the other day: looking on Youtube, there are already quite a few videos showing various people playing against bosses, including some rather interesting "challenge" ones from "Liselotteaiko" which involve using specific weapons all the way through a boss run. I've got another idea in mind: team-based speedruns. Just as a quick check, would anyone here like to feature alongside me in a video if I follow through with this idea? I'm asking you guys in particular because I know you're a competent bunch How many people here like using the Thunder Armour? Power-geared hybrids should also work quite well for making the boss kneel over, but I'd be particularly interested in getting a team of 3 Thunder users decimating Siegfried and Serpent, if possible Just testing the waters to see what you guys think of the idea at this point, but please respond if it interests you at all, even if you don't want to be one of the players running alongside me in the proposed video
If we can manage to find a timeslot that fits you, me, and someone else: sure thing, count me in. Might have to practice with Thunderarmor a bit first, though. By now, I am quite used to having high hp and just duking it out with bosses.
That might just offer you a little incentive to play the game a little more, when you're ready. You and I are similarly turtles, so the amount of speed you get exchanging the the Andromedae Legs for something else is just exhilarating Take it from me, using the Thunder Armour with an STK pack is a ridiculous thrill: you absolutely have to avoid getting hit, but the amount of mobility and damage you do is utterly obscene. Cygni offers even higher speed, but I don't quite feel as on the edge with that much HP as security. I'll need to get around to trying JK's signature power hybrid later as well, but I like the ability to selectively amplify your speed and power in bursts ------------ For the record, there's a good chance I'll be online again in 24 hours, provided uni hasn't completely drained me of energy. Anyone who's interested, or has any ideas of fun stuff to record, please speak up! I'd almost consider making a little machinima if the game wasn't a third-persoon shooter, of sorts -- the helmet gets in the way too much =.="
Can I be in that video please? oh and if you're wondering why I didn't make a video, I was too busy might do it another day
I certainly have no problem with you being in it From memory though, your playing times usually don't match up too well with mine, because I seem to remember it being close to 3:00-4:00am for me when you're usually able to play. That might limit our play times a little, but I'll be sure to work you into at least one video if I get around to doing it. Also note: I'm thinking of making a video of each boss for a particular video theme (current planned theme is to Thunderstrike each boss with a team of three Thunder users ). This is not restricted to two volunteers alone, and I'll quite happily try to accommodate anyone who wants to participate in at least one video run. There's space for up to 10 people if I were to do all the bosses. I'm trying to grab people who are relatively confident in running the Thunder Armour for the current theme, but if there's a specific boss you want to run against (e.g. you're comfortable using Thunder on Siegfried, but not Double Rages), let me know, and I'll do my best to accommodate you. If you're not confident/don't want to use the Thunder Armour, I'm still quite happy making a vid with you if we have time. The projects take first priority though. I've actually got someone from the other forum who wants to do a recorded run with me too, but I will quite openly say that you're likely going to be higher on my priorities list if I know you better (so it helps if I've seen you around here before ) ------------- FINAL NOTE, to Parcheesy in particular: I know you're quite keen on making and uploading the first-ever Double Rages video to Youtube, so I'm happy to wait a bit for you to do that first before I try and organise a Thunderstrike against Double Rages. Try not to keep us waiting for too long though, if you can please
I would love to do that. I use thunder a bit different from you guys's. You guys save the ability while I use it if I can. Plus, I haven't actually used thunder for bosses yet. I would like to do a harder boss. (I'm gonna bring along the regenerating pack...)
Geez. Ranks 6-8 are surprisingly prejudiced against Rank 12 players when you're joining a Mantis room - they always scramble away, presumably because I'd try to hog all the enemies. Never mind that I wouldn't care at all if they wanted to freeload for the boss because I'm quite nonchalant about it on that level...
If you're bringing the regen pack, you'll probably want it to use the ability quite liberally, because your speed and power is going to be lower than ours: constantly using the ability should compensate for it enough. Note that you may not like the regen pack so much in PvE - you don't recover anywhere near as much HP when total HP isn't scaled down. If you lose half your HP in the Thunder Armour, you need to spend about two minutes without getting hit to regenerate it. I would personally suggest bringing a health pack along rather than the regen bag, but whatever suits your style - that 20% chance of damage immunity could be a lot more useful than I think it is...
I got 7000 health in space station level... I am not used to thunder so better a regenerating turtle than dying ninja. But I will still have enough power... Hopefully.
So do I, quite frankly, but the catch is that I also do my bit in the boss fight. Players can simply save their bullets for the boss fight if they don't want to compete for the aliens, but it seems some guys don't think that way >.>
Space Station? That's Mantis's level. I just ran that a few times quite recklessly, and I still had much more than enough HP to even worry about dying. You can afford to go quite wild there Once we're at Lair/Siegfried though, yeah, bunkering down and camping is a good idea -- though as I've said numerous times, Asasnator has some kind of crazy run-and-gun playstyle which he can use unbelievably effectively. ----------- I'm going to start a new thread in the Player's Group to try coordinating the intended video runs. Sheinfell, that okay with you? If it's creating too much clutter, we can have that deleted and merged with the Match Set-up thread, but I thought it'd be an idea to make a separate thread for specialised boss-runs (i.e. specific set-ups and/or playstyles) rather than the standard thread
My point was, even with a short level, I got 7000 hp, what if it was serpent? 15000 health coming my way(or more). I tried to die on the level, or else I couldn't have figured out the amount of hp regenerated.
Aaaahhhh...that's what's going on... I always wondered about that, like: "geez, why do you guys insist on running off all the time? Look what it gets you, dead...again." And here I thought I do them a favour by keeping the aliens off them. I tried to hold back and let them kill most of the aliens, only shooting stuff that was behind them and close. But the few times I did that resulted in quite dead co-players.
Running away from you during the match is one thing...I've got players flat out ditching me at the lobby before the game starts Newbies are so much more cooperative...a little hot-headed, but they seem eager to get to the boss
