The higher level bosses seem to take a few minutes longer, particularly Double Rages and Serpent. The main problem with the 10 minutes is that I think it starts from the moment I boot up the program, and I'm not sure if it will cut out midway while I'm saving the video (it takes longer to save the longer the video is, and it was taking about 2-3 minutes to save a 1 minute video). From what I've seen, expecting a 6-7 minute run on Serpent is fairly standard. So the question is, if I start recording after a 6-7 minute video, will the program close on me if it takes me longer than 3-4 minutes to save it...? Anyway, you making any vids yourself?
yeah i might today edit: I gonna make the first ever DR video!!!!!!!! do you guys think I should commentate?
Hmm, that one's up to you. I'm a little annoyed by the way some commentators yap on, but that's mostly because I don't find them interesting. Also note that Youtube's rather (im)mature audience likes to make fun of commentators who sound particularly young, or who otherwise sound different. If you don't want to put up with that, I'd recommend against it, but again, it's entirely up to you - there are people praised for their commentary, so it could really go both ways.
Oh, by the way, forgot to mention...if you're running Windows 7 or a Mac of some sort, you can use Reflection to record videos, like the newer three of mine I uploaded. I'm quite liking the updated quality
To all of you -no offense- but I kind of dislike tutorials through bosses... I like the "glitches" of "combinations of weapons" that show them but not giving them an absolute technique. I think that is up to them to find out. I don't expect everyone to figure out a glitch or special thing, if they are poor and you could show them but a complete tutorial? I hate those kind of things, especially in these type of things. The tutorial will tell you exactly how to beat a boss fight unlike a strategy game(like poptropica) where you can glance at it to pass a certain part, and it is still difficult to complete. I can live with words because, well, they don't work very well.
A little lost on the "glitches/combination of weapons that show them but not giving them an absolute technique" bit. Do you mean that you dislike glitch videos which explain to you how to execute them step-by-step? Tutorials, I suppose you have a point - but there's some room for loopholes here, depending on how you define "tutorials". What I imagine Parcheesy wants to do is to simply do a video showing his playstyle through the entire boss room rather than doing any descriptive explanation or commentary through the entire thing: that's probably closer to a "Walkthrough", which just shows someone playing through the game. A "Tutorial", in my mind, is something which actually shows you step-by-step what you're meant to do with explanations (which includes vivid description of every single one of a boss's attacks and multiple ways of counteracting them where possible - I've seen Parcheesy's playstyle, and how he deals with Siegfried is significantly different to how I do it). Anyway, do elaborate please. I'm undecided on whether I want to record a boss-run or not, but I'm quite keen on possibly recording a run with friends from over here (I will ask for your permission if I'm about to do so), simply because it seems like a fun idea.
What I am saying is basically, don't tell them what they should figure out. Glitches aren't meant to be found out so tell them. Also you are showing your play style I am fine. If that is what Parcheesy is doing, go ahead. A run with me, I would actually be DELIGHTED to be part of your videos. if, and only if, there is no commentary. That kind of ruins it for me.
The way I'm recording doesn't actually allow me to add commentary as I'm playing the game unless I do it afterwards, so you don't need to worry about me. I tend to speak quite quickly when excited, so I'm not in the mood for putting viewers through that >.> I'm actually not too sure what qualifies as a glitch anymore (in this game, anyway, because I think I actually understand how the programming works with the switching-techniques), but suffice it to say that I like doing things out of the ordinary where it's possible.
Just in case anyone is wondering about me being rather quiet over the last few days: I am still incredibly busy, and in what little spare time I have I play Tunnel Tail (finished yesterday. Great game, go get it) , Horn (it *is* worth it, DBC ) and Acheron Prime (also highly recommended). SW just got a bit too repetitive for me, and I needed a change of scenery Anyways, I am still around, and will come back to SW sooner or later. And yes, getting more guide content out the door is still top spot on my list, but I cannot work on it in 10-15 minutes chunks. For writing like this, I need an hour or more where I can do things without interruption. And that is a luxury I currently do not have. Well, hopefully at least work will get a bit more quiet again next week, and leave me with more room to breathe and maybe a slot or two where I can work on the guide.
Good to know you're still alive and kicking There's been a surprising lull in the number of participants in this thread over the weekend, but to put it in perspective...it's amazing how we still have people talking here at all given how much we've already turned the game inside out. Anything that'll help us refresh and renew our interests in the game is good, given the relative monotony of it. There was a point where I got dangerously close to putting the game down for good when I had everything I needed... then Freyr released a content update, and I decided to try buying out the store, amongst other things. I am around, but beyond fighting to get the gold necessary to upgrade a couple of weapons...I seriously need something to make a video of Might start looking into other games/projects while glancing over here... ------------- Speaking of which, Sheinfell, remember that speed/bait set-up we tried on Siegfried? I might try making a video of that should you ever feel the need to try chucking a Speedy Gonzales there
Well, Freyr has a "project x" mentioned on their website, with a release estimate of September. I wish they would be a bit more open about this, e.g. will it be a content update for SW, or a new game (and if yes to that, similar to SW or something completely different) . Anyways, if SW stays as it is now, and no further content is added, I will put it down for good. There is only so much I can get out of it, as I do not play PvP.
Might I suggest setting up some sort of "lounge room" thread in the Players' Group, should you decide to put the game down and/or tire of checking this thread? I'm thinking that's a good pre-text for hanging onto the connections and community we've made from this specific game and thread, and we'd pretty much have free reign to go as "off-topic" as we want if we have no obligation to keep bringing the talk back to Star Warfare specifically Role-playing games...I would so get stuck back into them right now if university didn't stop me from immersing myself into a storyline properly =.="
